The location makes this place. Right across from the beach and within walking distance to a ton of restaurants and shopping. Location is absolutely perfect for walking to the shopping, to the beach across the street, for amazing views from The roof top bar and pool area.

The hotel provides beach towels, chairs and umbrellas.

It is an expensive area to stay, but well worth it – felt safe at all times.

The rooms were pretty good size, but the bathroom felt a bit small (but enough). The view from the room window to the ocean is amazing.

The room has a comfy king bed, good closet space, a safe, desk, mini-fridge, large bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, & soap

Breakfast is included in the stay. The restaurant where the breakfast is served overlooks the Ipanema beach. The breakfast included cereal, different kinds of pastries, fruit, juice yogurt, coffee and some hot breakfast. They are open from 6:00 to 10:00 AM. The same restaurant is open for sit down dinner in the night.

The rooftop pool is small but the hotel is so close to the ocean that the pool is really for cooling off. The view from the rooftop bar is also amazing.

Being a part of the Belmond group the expectation is set very high and I can assure you the hotel is fabulous.

The Copacabana Palace is a beautiful old world hotel full of character and charm. It is well located on Copacabana beach – an easy walk to Ipanema and a short drive to Sugarloaf and Corcovado. The buffet breakfasts are fantastic with lots of variety and the fruit is seasonal and incredibly fresh.

The breakfast selection is plentiful, from exotic fruits to delicious pastries and many hot options.

The rooms are well-designed and artfully decorated. Beach-facing rooms are preferred but not essential, as in any event you are right on the beach when you walk out the door.

The pool is pretty, but due to the shape of the hotel, the sun is limited to narrow parts of the pool throughout the day. The beach setup is wonderful, with lounge chairs towels and water available.

This hotel offers all amenities including a wonderful full service Spa, fantastic toiletries in every room including robes and flip flops should you want to step down to the pool, Spa or cross the avenue to the beach!

This is one of our favourite hotels in the world. Always a warm welcome from first arrival at the front entrance to check-in, bellboys, restaurant and housekeeping staff. This hotel has always been about luxury and the staff who maintain the high standards expected.

Our sea view suite in the annex was beautiful with housekeeping service for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast is legendary in this Hotel and a couple of dinners taken in the MEE asian fusion restaurant were outstanding.

As soon as you enter you know you are in a hotel of considerable sophistication, with polished marble everywhere and very professional staff. Check in was a breeze and my suite was palatial, with a wrap-around balcony (which unfortunately due to the weather I was only able to enjoy on my second day there – but what a joy!).

The suite itself had everything I could wish for and, being a corner suite, it was flooded with light. House-keeping was first-class; spent consumables were quickly replaced and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard.

The staff always had a smile on their face; they obviously like their job. Any request was dealt with quickly.

The hotel is in a prime location on the seafront and the nearest metro station is only about a five minute walk away, so access to the rest of Rio is easy.

Excellent location near Copacabana beach, just 5 min walk. There was also restaurants, lots of shops and metro station nearby. Safe neighborhood and safe hotel.

The rooms are  great  in size with plenty of room to spread out backpacks etc. Good air conditioning, great shower, comfy & clean beds, Tv with some english channels & friendly and helpful staff.

The breakfast included has a wide selection of scrambled eggs, sausage, lots of different breads and cakes and local pastries (which are delivered from a local bakery early in the morning ) so fresh and delicious. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Copacabana beach. The breakfast was basic, but good and the staff very helpful and friendly.

The people at the front desk spoke perfect English and very eager to help in any way they could. The room was nice and clean. The wifi worked well in the room and other areas. It did stop working a couple of times, but the people at the front desk reset the password as soon as I explained the situation, and then it was fine.

Very clean hotel, lovely room with flat screen TV, English speaking programmes available, breakfast included had a wide selection of scrambled eggs, sausage, lots of different breads and cakes and local pastries (which we saw were delivered from a bakery at 6 am) so fresh and delicious. Rooftop pool and bar. If you ask for an English speaking barmaid you may be lucky enough to meet Chay ( real name Cheyanne) very informative on the cuisine and local area.

One odd thing about breakfast here. Baked egg custard, they call it pudding or cake, it’s in a circle, and it’s delicious, especially if your grandma used to make it for you! Had to try some, even though it was breakfast, and it was great

The breakfast is decent and contains, fruits, juices, bread, cakes.and ham. There is a huge variety of food that met the need of picky eaters.

The hotel is in Catete next to Flamingo, about five minutes walk from the subway station Catete.

The rooms are huge, the street is a bit noisy (as well as the air condition), the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. But the best is the breakfast: a lot of fresh fruit, juices, some Brazilian specialities, this is just gorgeous – the problem is just when to stop eating.

The room was big, fairly well kept, good AC, a 32″ flat screen TV, a comfortable queen size bed, good bathroom. As usual in Brazil, there is a shower, but no bathtub. The decor is dated, but the room is in good shape and very clean. A friend of mine stayed in one of those dismal rooms facing the side wall and asked to move the next day to a better room. If possible, ask for the room numbers ending in 4, 5 or 6. They face the back, are brightly lit and very quiet.

As for the rest of the hotel, there’s not much. The dining room is very small, the food is passable, room service was quick, and the breakfast buffet is a bit below what you’ll find in most hotels of this class in Brazil. The location is OK, there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance (just be extra careful at night); there’s also a metro station nearby. The staff was very helpful. Overall, my experience at the Mengo Palace Hotel was good. I think the hotel is a bit overpriced, but hey, summer in Rio is like that: all hotels are kind of expensive, and this one was in the mid- to low-price range

Enjoy your stay in Rio de Janeiro!

The rooms are bit small but is just what you need for your holiday in Rio if you are not too picky! The room  clean neat and new great air con. Good flat screen tv safe fridge.

The hotel Atlântico Travel Copacabana is situated at the Copacabana. Not directly at the beach but about 5 minutes by foot (500m tops). The hotel is a tower building with 18 (?) floors. My room was on the second floor with look at the air-conditioning duct. The room was pretty small with two beds in it (a single and a full-size), a table, a chair, a fridge, a safe, tv, air-conditioning and a bathroom with shower. It is nothing if you want to stay all the day long in your room. The room itself was clean and the maid came every day.

The staff at the front desk is very nice, friendly, patient and accommodating. I had the impression, that not everyone speaks English (fluently). I had problems with understanding their Brazilian Portuguese, they had problems with understanding my European Portuguese, but everyone tried and somehow we got along very well. So really there was no problem at all.

The dining room is in the basement. It’s a bit tight there due to the cramped premises. There is a rich breakfast buffet with fruits (banana, melon, papaya, mango…), cakes, puddings, bread, sausage, cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs, coffee, tea, water, juice…
