31 Days of Blogging Challenge: Day 4 – Favourite Recipe

day-04 food

Lets not lie to each other. I am a terrible cook.  I am not even a cook. They only things I do in the kitchen are fried eggs. Not even with french fries cause I am lousy at cutting the potatoes into slices.

When it comes to food, I like to experiment. While traveling, I like to try everything. Even if I don’t know what’s on the plate, I usually order it without hesitation. While I was in Asia, after one month of rice I desperately wanted a piece of bacon. After the return from Africa, the first dish I had was cow cheese with onion! But I have to pick a good; cheese is not!

My favorite meal is   Fried Chicken Liver with Onions and polenta.

Ingredients:

  • 1kg of chicken livers
  • 1 big onion
  • 1.5 cups of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying.

Rinse livers, cut bit ones in half, put livers in a bowl. Pour over with milk enough to cover all livers and set bowl aside. Warm a frying pan with a bit of oil, pearl onion, slice it in half circles and fry until browned in color (10 mins over moderate low heat),  Once the onions are ready, remove onions from the pan, keep pan on the heat, add a bit more oil if needed. Dust each piece of chicken liver with flour from all sides.

Put it in the frying pan one by one. Once liver pieces are browned from one side, flip them to another, and fry until cooked through. As for the onion, you either cook it along with the liver or eat it entirely. Enjoy it!
