Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in Singapore ( 2024 Updated)

Despite these laws, the gay community in Singapore has been put on the map both by the big companies as Google and Facebook who do have offices in Singapore and made their presence with initialising the Singapore Gay Parade which is held every May. A number of hotels are gay friendly hotel Singapore.

Tourism in Singapore is a major industry and contributor to the Singaporean economy, attracting 17.4 million international tourists in 2017, more than 3 times of Singapore’s total population. It is also environmentally friendly, and maintains natural and heritage conservation programs.

Singapore, as many Asian countries do have some harsh law against homosexuality.   You can get 2 years imprisonment for any gayness.

There are 2 popular gay bars in Singapore, Tantric Bar & May Wang’s Café located on Neil Road in the heart of Chinatown and Dorothy’s located as well in China Town. That’s why our selection of gay friendly hotel Singapore starts with 2 hotels close to these 2 clubs in Chinatown, Singapore.

Top attractions to visit in Singapore

1. Orchid Hotel Singapore 4* – Gay Friendly Hotel Singapore

Gay Friendly Hotels Singapore
Gay Friendly Hotels Singapore

Our first suggestion is a 4* hotel located Chinatown, close to the main gay clubs in Singapore and as well to many other bars, restaurants and spas.

A 5-minute walk from Tanjong

MRT Station, Orchid Hotel offers spacious and air-conditioned rooms and suites with free WiFi. It has an outdoor pool, fitness centre and buffet restaurant.

It’s conveniently located in the city with walking distance to MRT, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, food stalls and super markets near ! 15 minutes walk to Maxwell food stall and Chinatown! 18 minutes walk to Lau Pa Sat food malls.

Rooms are spacious, and comfortable. Air conditioning kept the room comfortably cool. The bathroom is spacious and with a double sized shower. The room has a large wardrobe and a fridge. More than enough space for three adults, and their luggage. Kettle, tea, and coffee were also provided.

Rooms offer all the amenities you would expect: Shower, Hairdryer, Bathrobe, Free toiletries, Toilet, Bathroom, Slippers.

The pool was clean, towels provided at the bar, and nicely in the shade – a welcome relief from the sun.

The breakfast is good, although it leaned towards east asian options, there was plenty of international options as well (cereal, bread, butter, bacon, hash browns, sausages, fruits, salads, croissants, eggs).

Finding an ideal quiet hotel in Singapore does not have to be difficult. Welcome to Orchid Hotel, a nice option for travelers like you.

Free wifi is offered to guests, and rooms at Orchid Hotel offer a flat screen TV, a refrigerator, and air conditioning.

During your stay, take advantage of some of the amenities offered, including a 24 hour front desk, room service, and a concierge. Guests of Orchid Hotel are also welcome to enjoy a pool and an on-site restaurant. For travelers arriving by car, free parking is available.

Given the close proximity of popular landmarks, such as Singapore Flyer (1.6 mi) and Henderson Waves (1.6 mi), guests of Orchid Hotel can easily experience some of Singapore’s most well known attractions.

During your visit, be sure to check out one of Singapore’s popular shrimp restaurants such as Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant, JUMBO Seafood, and Cut by Wolfgang Puck, all a short distance from Orchid Hotel.

Best of all, Orchid Hotel makes it easy to experience many great Singapore attractions like Parkview Square, NUS Baba House, and UOB Plaza, which are some popular architectural buildings.

Orchid Hotel puts the best of Singapore at your fingertips, making your stay both relaxing and enjoyable.

This is a local Singapore hotel, but it’s location is great and product is quite fine. It’s has everything that an international hotel can offer, but it’s location and closeness to the subway is it’s top advantage.

Room is large for the price paid, and it’s central location. Housekeeping did a good job in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the room. Reception team was friendly as well, and there’s always a security and bell person in the lobby.

The breakfast was simple but sufficient, and offers some local favorites as well. I feel this hotel is quite popular with South Korean tourists.

I would return to this hotel during future visits to Singapore.

The hotel is perfectly located at Tanjong Pagar mrt station (exit A), there is a FairPrice supermarket and a hawker centre with many local food options nearby.

Check in was smooth, the staffs were friendly and always greet us with a warm smiling face. Room was clean and very spacious, everything was in good condition but just very dated and desperately needed an upgrade. Overall, we had a good stay in here.

Neighborhood and Singapore often do not go together. Few downtown areas are walkable, but the Orchid Hotel is one of them. We stayed in 3 different hotels during our Singapore visit- this hotel near chinatown, and one in Orchard Rd and one in the Marina Bay area. Even though the other hotels were far more luxurious, this hotel is one I’d revisit over the others. Reasons? Location. Singapore is a beautiful city with modern infrastructure and great sightseeing, however at the end of the day, I prefer staying in a location that had easy walkability and sights that are not found at home.

The Orchid hotel is on Tanjong Pajar, just steps from countless great eateries and bars. Chinatown is a few walkable blocks away, with it’s temples and night market and access to everything imaginable. There’s a small but manageable hawker market and fruit/veg market just across the street, where we spent a few bucks each morning for delicious breakfasts, and Maxwell center is just down the way for endless other local delicacies including the Michelin famous chicken rice. Equidistant the other way is Amoy center, with two stories of more hawker stalls including a curry puff stall that sells pure nirvana. Aside from food though, the well preserved streets (such as Ann Siang) of old chinatown facades lends to an aura of authenticity that urban Singapore sorely lacks.

The hotel itself is perfectly fine. The front desk is polite and helpful, and the facility is clean with comfortable beds. Furnishings are similar to a Courtyard from 10-15 years ago, and amenities such as soap, TP, and towels are metered out carefully. Beds are comfortable, however if you book a two queen bed room and have 3 people you will get charged $50 per night for the third, even if using existing bedding. AC is good. Hotel pool is fine for laps, even if heavily chlorinated. There are large chinese tour groups at the hotel, but really only seen in AM or PM as they are gone touring most of the day. We did not waste $22 pp on the breakfast, as the options elsewhere were plentiful and much less $.

During our week’s visit we picked Hotel 81 Premier Star because of the location and we were not disappointed. It’s not in the busy end of Singapore, it’s in Geylang, which for us was central to the nature areas and the city areas we wished to visit.

Room was good and the amenities are as promised. The surrounding area has a few dodgy hotels but they didn’t affect us at all. MRT is a short walk away past great restaurants like No Signboard Seafood.

Fantastic spot in the heart of geylang area. The area has cheap, good food ($3 -$6) and cheap beers.
The hotel room is great. Not huge but bigger than many in the area. Its new, clean and modern. It looks the same as you see in the pic’s. No surprises at all.

The TV is a smart tv with fast internet for youtube etc. There is a fridge so you can bring drink back to the room.

Overall:
Clean, comfortable and tidy for a great value. Great location in terms of food and only an estimated 9 min walk from the train station. Will stay again.

Pros:
1) Straight bus from Aljunied MRT to the bus stop on the street by the hotel, which is only one stop away, which means that you can just transfer from the MRT to the bus without a need to walk back.
2) Lots of food places around that are cheap and excellent.
3) Room was small as per the stated dimensions upon booking. However, I think it felt slightly more spacious than expected due to the layout; it did not feel cramped.
4) The toilet bowl was separated from the shower with a glass door, so it’s nice that the wetness stayed on one side.
5) The sink was located outside the toilet so it was convenient for us to wash things such as mugs or whatever, and there was plenty of space to put like toothbrushes and stuff.
6) There was an easy-to-use safe that was spacious enough for quite a few things.
7) The front-counter staff were friendly and easy to communicate with and housekeeping staff were prompt with deliveries of items.
8) Shower was strong and water heating was great.

This hotel was only £45 per night including breakfast so excellent value for money. Ideally located to get out and about. Staff very helpful giving us advice on where to go and ordering taxis. Were able to get into our room early. Room small but clean and tidy. One thing would mention was the room window did not open. Pool on rooftop a great addition which we used a couple of times after being out all day sightseeing. Breakfast was in the attached cafe, very basic food but great deal in with the room rate.

This hotel suits a budget conscious traveller to Singapore.
It’s in a great location and about a 5 min walk from Clarke quay underground MRT station and Clarke quay itself.

Plenty of gay bars, shops and restaurants nearby at Clarke quay. There is a 7/11 right next to the hotel too for soft drinks and such.
The room is compact but doesn’t feel small. Its comfy and clean.

Looks as though its recently changed hands to IBIS and still has it’s old name of Fragrance Hotel on the front.

Floor-to-ceiling windows open up to panoramic views of the Singapore skyline. An electric kettle with Grand Jasmine tea and bedroom slippers are provided in all rooms. En suite bathrooms include shower facilities and free toiletries.

Marina Bay Sands is located at Bayfront MRT Station and steps from the lively Central Business District. Conveniently connected via a link bridge, Gardens by the Bay is 950 m from Marina Bay Sands, while Marina Barrage is 2.1 km away. Marina Square and Millenia Walk are within 1.4 km from the property. Changi Airport Singapore is 20.2 km away.

Located along Marina Bay waterfront with 3 cascading hotel towers, 2,560 rooms, extraordinary Sands Sky Park, floating crystal pavilions, lotus-inspired ArtScience Museum, The Shoppes, Celebrity Chef Restaurants, Theatres and hottest nightclubs.

This hotel is an experience, not the most welcomed check in/out but this is because the entrance is throughout the shopping mall. Once you are in your room you will be amazed by the comfort and beautiful views. The infinity pool at the top is the main attraction (the pool is only available to hotel guest) and is just amazing, you can also find a couple of nice restaurants plus a cocktail bar (this available to non hotel guest).

The hotel is within walking distance to the gardens by the bay (our room was facing the gardens) and the view at night is out of this world.

. This place is amazing and so luxurious and is a resort in itself. There is a casino that we didn’t go in.
A high end shopping mall with its own canal and top restaurants.

The gym is well equipped and located on the 55th floor with amazing views over the bay and Singapore. There is also a bar open to the public on the 55th floor but is $27 for a bottle of Stella.
On the top floor there is the 150m long infinity pool which is lined with sun loungers and is great for taking a selfie with the city in the background. You cannot go to the pool unless you are staying at the hotel.

A short 5 minute walk from the hotel is the marina bay itself with light shows and restaurants and about 5 minutes in the other direction is the gardens at the bay again this has a light show at 745pm.

The rooms are massive with a huge bed and bathroom with 2 sinks in it. All the little touches were thought of various shower gels, creams, dental kits, slippers and robes etc. There is also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a safe.

The rooms are cleaned daily but they try and save water and environmental impact by leaving a card if you don’t want your towels replacing etc and there are 2 recycling bins in each room.
The mini bar was also fully stocked.

You can spend days just looking around this hotel and going to all the attractions involved I highly recommend staying here for at least one night in Singapore.

The hotel is huge, my suite was overlooking the gardens, with a balcony. Suite was large, comfortable bed and large shower – but rooms are somewhat outdated, carpeted floors needing some treatment as well as furniture and overall appearance.

The pool on the top floor is amazing – huge, fantastic view of the city and Singapore is just great! Breakfast at Lavo was very good – several options, side of the pool. And the hotel has a casino and a huge mall attached to it – you can go using the stairwells directly. There you will find shopping attractions and many places to have a meal.

5. Days Hotel Singapore at Zhongshan Park 3* – Gay Friendly Hotel Singapore

Days Inn Hotel Singapore
Days Inn Hotel Singapore

Our last choice for a gay friendly hotel in Singapore is part of the Days Inn chain is and located in the Novena District.

It is within a 15-minute drive of Orchard Road, Marina Bay and the Central Business District. Sentosa Island and the Changi International Airport are a 20-minute drive away.

Guests can exercise in the fitness centre. Head to the 24-hour reception for assistance with luggage storage, laundry or dry cleaning services

The hotel offers free WiFi access, local calls, and a complimentary shuttle service to the Novena MRT Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. Even if it’s a bit far away from the touristic spots its located in a green and safe area of Singapore.

The rooms are small but decent, and good for two people (couple) with a comfortable bed. The shower and bathroom is good. Breakfast is  nice with plenty of options.

The Days Hotel by Wyndham Singapore at Zhongshan Park is a three-star hotel managed by the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc that offers a halal-certified all-day dining restaurant offering Mediterranean and South East Asian fare, a 24-hour gym and 405 guest rooms stylishly designed in vibrant hues of orange or blue.

Situated within the central district of Novena, the hotel is a mere five minutes’ complimentary shuttle service away from the Velocity and United Square shopping malls, Novena Medical Hub and Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Days Hotel is also located on the Balestier Heritage Trail which peeks into Singapore’s past

ocation: This hotel is conveniently located near several bus stops, and they also offer free shuttle service to one of the MRT stations. Several restaurants and shops can also be found close by, including McDonald’s, which is right next door.

– Service: The service at this hotel is excellent. I have no complaints.

– Room Price: Singapore is expensive. This hotel charges fairly against their competitors, and I definitely felt that they gave me my money’s worth.

– Restaurant/Daily Breakfast Buffet: The hotel provides an excellent daily breakfast buffet with a wide variety of western, Indian, and Chinese food options. We were more than pleased.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Singapore, and I would gladly book it again for our next trip.

The free hotel shuttle service is a big plus! I definitely used it daily to go to and from the nearest MRT station (Novena). Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back there when the opportunity arises.

The location may be off a bit since it is quite far from the bustling city itself and popular tourist destination yet still a good location though. The hotel provides shuttle bus service to malls with MRT station, it is near a bus stop which have buses going to the city, tourist spots and MRT stations. It is also near hospital.

The hotel has a mall nearby which isn’t bad ’cause there is a supermarket and food stalls and restaurants, as well. There is a nice, clean and quiet park, too. McDonalds and Starbucks nearby opening soon! Hotel restaurant, Raja at 21 which has a refreshing ambience, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good enough buffet spread (I tried their breakfast). Rooms are very well maintained. Tidy, clean & honey.. I loved it! There is a gym and also a terrace/outdoor lounge which is quite relaxing
