The Hotel area is nice with 2 small super markets below the hotel tower, Metro station (Pudong Avenue) just crossing the road. At present the metro construction work was going on so the front side of the hotel and its porch were partially not accessible.
The Hotel is just one station away from Century Avenue line 2 interchange.
Both the room features a wall to ceiling glass overlooking the front side. The hotel walkways were carpeted making it almost no noise from passerby in the gallery. Some of the hotel accessory were old like the key machine, which caused problems many times, the sockets in the room were less and difficult to work with. The ironing table was broken. The telephone receiver was faulty and only could be talked on hands-free or by holding the cord tightly inside.
->Bathroom and Bathing experience:
The bathroom was connected to bedroom with a glass sliding door. The bathroom was very good size. The good part is that both shower area and w/c were in separate glass enclosures making all the three areas to be used if multiple people are using it. The bathroom also had a big size bathtub (not Jacuzzi)
->Hotel Staff
The hotel staff was always helpful and warm, but they lacked English language. In general other hotels of Shanghai speak good English now. The rooms wifi was decent not very fast.
->Breakfast:
Enjoying the Executive benefits, we had breakfast on 3F and 30F. Both places had same spread, and of course 30F was very quiet and had service. The breakfast was nice and had a good spread.
Located in the Pudong area of Shanghai – This new and very modern hotel is definitely off the beaten path as far as Shanghai goes. It’s a 30 RMB taxi ride to the Bund or the Yan Gardens and you have to take the tunnel. We walked to the Pearl Tower in about 25 minutes one night. Lots of nice little restaurants just across the main street and a good convenience store too.
The staff at the front desk and concierge were all very attentive and friendly – the doormen were always very quick to get us taxis. There is an ATM just outside the main doors and down about 50 ft. Stay up high to get great views of the River – we stayed in 3223, which did not overlook the Bund but we saw further up the river which was still nice. The breakfast buffet was vast and varied with lots of good Chinese and Western food. Shower and Bathtub were all great and it was very safe and extremely quiet.

Location is perfect, very near to the metro station and to the pearl tower.
Check in and check out quick and smooth, rooms welcoming and very comfortable (epic bed and shower), high quality breakfast with impressive choice, very nice swimming pool and jacuzzi from where the skyline is perfectly visible.
The hotel is about 10 minutes’ walk to the nearest metro station which has a bakery, the view is beautiful during the day and night. Very pleasant and safe area, not too crowded especially at night. There is a 7-11 convenience store 5 minutes’ walk away from hotel, and a few restaurants. Hotel is also very near to the Disney store.
Bathroom was EXCEPTIONAL. Hotel bathrooms are usually very chilly with the ventilation fan but not here. The bathroom floor is heated ever so slightly, no chill at all when we step out of the shower, large but not too large, and the mirror does not fog up. Glad to have two sinks. Very much value for money as do not think there are any other 5 stars hotel in Shanghai with this price. The gym has a very nice view, do head up for a tour.
Location close (short walking distance) to Oriental Pearl, Aquarium, Huan Pu River, Shopping Malls and metro station; I think, this is perfect to start any visit into Shanghai.
The rooms are well equipped and the view to the river and the Bund is great during the day and also in the evening. To relax a bit after work you can also enjoy the view of the river and the Bund from the 30th floor of the pool area and the SPA.
The location is undoubtedly one of the best in Shanghai for business travelers, who also would like to see the city, its walking distance to Pearl Tower, ifc and Super Brand Mall, one station to the Bund and several Science and Technology Museum.
The rooms are so comfortable and nicely furnished, and the bathrooms are large and will equipped.
My room was large and overall well cleaned and maintained, with a very nice bathroom, luxury multi nozzle shower, large tub,(which I didn’t use) dual vanities, and generously sized high quality towels and toiletries, inclusive of shaving kits, toothbrushes, combs and the usual soaps, shampoos and lotions. My view was very good towards the Pearl Tower and HuangPu River. The bed and feather based pillows and comforter were quite comfortable, although no top sheet was provided, which I found unusual.. Back to the room, the materials and furnishings were high quality, with a small mini-bar, desk, work chair, and comfortable sitting chair and ottoman.

+ Rooms – are big, modern, have a nice bath, our beds were phantastic – room service and cleaning was impeccable.
+ Staff – we only met very friendly staff, that spoke English very well; I once had to deal with the janitor – he was very skilled with using an electronic translator
+ SPA and complementary laundry were very welcoming
This hotel was an excellent place to stay in Shanghai. Conveniently located, very close to a subway station, and a walking distance from Yu Garden, as well as other interesting landmarks like People’s Square, Xintiandi, East Nanjing Rd and The Bund.
The room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed, as well as a good shower. Also, the breakfast buffet is excellent, and also it has an excellent view on the terrace! I highly recommend this hotel, it’s a great value.
The hotel has a washing machine and dryer with complimentary washing powder. There is an incredibly useful 15-minute wash setting which goers super quickly when relaxing with a magazine on the seating provided. (All the books and magazines provided are unsurprisingly Chinese). Laundry facilities are becoming more common in hotels and something we have started to look for as it halves the number of clothes we need to take.

Complimentary hot and cold buffet food served here each night from 10-11.30, another perk that is becoming more usual in hotels, especially in the Hilton chain. We mostly popped in for a small plate of noodles and a hot drink around 10.30
As well as the good-sized dining table and two comfortable chairs, there is a lovely seating area by the window which had 2 corner windows behind shutters that opened but were protected by netting although the air-con worked fine.
There are a lot of lights and I especially loved the strip light alongside the window seat that guided me to the water in the fridge in the middle of the night. However, in true hotel-style, I never figured out which light switches controlled what during our three nights here.
The electronic blinds and blackout bedside controls worked a treat though. It was lovely to be able to see the view and then close the blinds before getting out of bed in order to preserve modesty.

There are a variety of sockets although some of the three-pin ones didn’t work so it was a bad time for our main international multi adaptor to stop working.

Hotel Puli is around a 5-minute walk from Jing’an Temple Subway Station (Line 2 and Line 7). West Nanjing Road and People’s Square are within 10 minutes’ drive. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station are around 35 minutes’ drive away.

The location is near the main shopping district of Jing’An. The decor of the common areas and rooms is the key selling point. Very stylish, with a combination of modern and asian. The entire hotel has a serene feel.
The subway station is within walking distance from the hotel, with plenty of malls and good restaurants nearby. This is a very nice hotel – comfortable, relaxing, nice gym and pool area, stylish lobby and common rooms. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The employees are friendly and helpful
t features an impressive and atmospheric driveway and entrance, a large lobby with reception, a library and the “Long Bar” with an outdoor terrace overlooking large pond, and a one-Michelin star restaurant “Phénix” on the second floor serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
On the third floor there’s a health club with a small gym, an indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, as well as a SPA. While the design of the swimming pool is stunning and there are wonderful daybeds to relax on, the health club needs a refresh: some tiles have fallen off, paint is peeling, the water in the shallow pool connecting the changing room with the swimming pool is foggy, rather dirty towels are on the floor to prevent slipping and the jacuzzi needs an upgrade (e.g. on some days the water level was lower than the water sprays; too few sprays making it an awkward plunge pool); and the carpet in the reception area is worn.
The room is the perfect place to recharge after a busy day out and about.
Pros: spacious; minimalist, but luxurious design; great view over Jing’an; real blackout blinds (a rarity!); complimentary minibar; heavenly bathtub (bath salt is provided); proper turndown service (including provision of ice and new towels, trash cans emptied, glasses replaced; water bottles restocked, etc.); daily newspaper (The New York Times and not a local paper); nice little touches (fresh fruit replenished daily, extensive stationery set including branded bookmarks, a large orchid); Nespresso machine (with takeaway paper cups with lids!).
Breakfast at “Phénix” consists of a buffet with a continental spread and some Asian options and dishes made to order. The food quality is high, presentation is excellent and service is very attentive. Overall, a very luxurious start of the day. The only downside is the very average cappuccino.
Service at “Long Bar” is efficient and friendly, both indoors and on the terrace. Drink quality is unfortunately not up to standard, at least when it comes to whiskey sour. It was drinkable but not authentic as for example there was no egg white in it.
Room service is excellent. Service is fast and all the dishes were fresh, tasty, generously portioned and nicely presented.

The design of the hotel is fantastic – beautiful old building, 4 floors only, recycled materials. The rooms are really spacious and ours was pretty clean which was great. The location is fab in Jing’An, it’s on a nice tree lined street and is pretty quiet. Gym was small but has basic cardio and weight training equipment.
Located on a nice tree–lined street close to the Jing’an Temple. Atrium room had an unusual design on four levels! Friendly staff. Happy hour from 3 pm with free drinks including beer and nibbles with dried mango. Breakfast was a highlight and I highly recommend the kimchi salad and green smoothie for the health-conscious.
The staff were very friendly and chatted with us at the bar in the evening. The bartenders made some of the best drinks we’d had in Shanghai. The breakfast buffet is fantastic & has a great selection.
Every element of the hotel is thoughtfully designed, from the hallways to the bathtubs. Most of the design elements are repurposed and gay-friendly as well, and there are little plaques around explaining where the repurposed materials came from. Very cool.
We had a garden view room, which was spacious and well appointed. The room and hotel in general was quiet and desk and bar staff were all very helpful and friendly.
