1. Hotel Casa de los Azulejos 2* – Gay Friendly Hotels Cordoba

Hotel Casa de los Azulejos
Hotel Casa de los Azulejos

This colonial-style hotel, in central Córdoba, is 50 m from Corredera Square, and a 10-minute walk from the Mezquita. It offers free Wi-Fi and has a relaxing interior garden patio.

Hotel Casa de los Azulejos rooms are brightly decorated, in a Latin-American style. All rooms are air-conditioned with cable TV and some have a private balcony. There is a DVD player, and the bathroom comes with a hairdryer. All rooms are non-smoking.

The Azulejos Hotel includes a bar and garden patio with hammock. You can also relax in the hotel library which includes a computer which guests may access.

Located next to Plaza de la Corredera, the house is a sensory delight and a recreational exercise of colonial architecture. Its conversion into a hotel in 2002 emphasized its colonial character full of colour and plants and with the Andalusian hospitality. Life at the hotel runs around the leafy courtyard coated by tiles from the Menasque factory.

On the main floor, marble and wrought iron are embraced by the palm and banana trees, and the flowering clivias, bundled with the majestic balustrade and the marvelous plasterwork vault of the main staircase painted by Javier and Nino Gamboa with “the four elements”. Once in the rooms, the traditional andalusian style is reinvented creating original and very comfortable spaces. The large windows, handcrafted furniture in noble wood, hydraulic floors, old glass doors of the corridor and main balustrade are combined with the most modern facilities.

The alcoves celebrate the meeting of cultures with contention but always ready to show some surprises: a chest of drawers of the family, a historic item, a fireplace rescued from the original building. The hotel has a sacred space: a library full of rare references and specialized in gastronomy, architecture, travel and art, ranging from titles recommended by the Institute of Architects of Córdoba to the latest travel guide.

More of a B&B style colonial hotel. Our room was spacious and had a small private terrace. The reception is in a lovely patio.

At walking distance from the typical sightseeing spots in town. (Cathedral at under 15 minutes, Roman Temple around the corner.)

Set just outside the main old town, this is a traditional Andalusian house, verdant courtyard and rooms with space to breathe. Set off the main drags, the hotel is really quiet, it has comfy beds and excellent addictive showers. Breakfast was plentiful mix of cereals, meats and cheese, bread and cakes. It included treats like freshly squeezed orange juice and the best coffee in town. Positioned handily between the city centre, the student ‘quarter’ and the old town, the local vibe is warm and inclusive. The staff/family are excellent ambassadors for the city. Easy 20 minute walk from the train/bus stations.

The beer in the newly opened bar below the hotel is excellent and deserves better recognition.

The room had lots of character and was named after a native plant, rather than numbered. Both the room and the beds were good size. The room had Wifi and a well appointed bathroom. I found the bed fairly firm, but am a bit of a “princess and the pea”, so just put an extra blanket below the sheet and it was fine.

Balcón de Córdoba is just 20 m from Córdoba’s La Mezquita Mosque. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV. The roof terrace offers panoramic views of the city.

The attractive rooms at the Balcón feature tiled floors and soft tones. Each one has a sofa and a private bathroom with hairdryer.

Staff at reception can help booking tickets for guided tours, live shows and other events. The hotel has a bar, and there are 3 patios, one with an orange tree and one with some Roman archaeological remains.

“We have raised a balcony over Córdoba to be enjoyed by our guests as a true home. This is a warm-hearted invitation for you to find rest with us while discovering the treasures of a magic, ancient town.”

Set in a quiet street in the old city, just steps away from the Great Mosque makes it the perfect place to stay when seeing the sights of this beautiful city.

Very close to the Mesquita and shopping in the Old City. Not too far from shipping in the newer part of the city. There are many archeological artifacts that decorate the lobby and even in the rooms. Our room was a nice size and had windows that open out onto a small patio garden with a fountain. When we arrived there were flower petals on our bed–so pretty.

The entrance courtyard is nice, except it was being painted when we were there and not usable. The front desk people were very helpful. In the room we had a refrigerator, fruit, coffee/tea and a safe. There was a small closet and almost no drawer space for other clothes. The ball and socket that held the hand-held shower head was broken and the shower head would fly off the holder when it was turned on. There is a wonderful space on the roof that had a fantastic view.

This is a small hotel and the ambience is very special. The courtyard is charming and the view from the rooftop bar and restaurant is stunning, by day and especially at night. We had a good sized room and bathroom had all the amenities.

It is rare that a hotel room is even more beautiful than it appears online but that was certainly the case here. We had booked a Mitra room and were given Room 4. It was very spacious and beautifully appointed. The mattresses were firm – which I loved. The bathroom had a shower over the bath – the water pressure was excellent and there was no shortage of hot water. The breakfast buffet had a wonderful selection and the food was fresh and delicious.

The hotel has two beautiful serene spaces for guests to enjoy – a central courtyard downstairs and a rooftop bar with an amazing view of the city.

Excellent position – easy walking distance from all the main tourist sites.

If you are planning to visit Cordoba – stay here.

This is a beautiful small hotel, staffed by thoughtful and caring managers. The rooms are unique, and worth considering upgrading to a junior suite to have your own balcony – but there is a shared balcony for all guests at the top of the hotel with a great view of the cathedral and the old city. I’ve stayed in a lot of boutique properties in interesting locations around the world and this is pretty high on that list of experiences for me – and for the price, which felt very reasonable, this has to have been one of the best bang for buck tourist stay experiences I’ve had.

Note that the old city is made up of narrow, winding streets – some barely a car-width. Makes taxi travel interesting to say the least.

3. Sercotel Hotel Selu 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Cordoba

Sercotel Hotel Selu
Sercotel Hotel Selu

This central Córdoba hotel is just 10 minutes’ walk from both the railway station and the Mezquita. It offers air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV, a safe and minibar.

Córdoba’s main shopping area is about 5 minutes’ walk away, while the Conference Centre can be reached in 10 minutes.

There is a café-bar serving breakfast, and the hotel has a 24-hour front desk. Car hire is available, and private parking and Wi-Fi are available for a charge.

The Sercotel Selu Hotel is located next to the old town of Córdoba, and a few meters from the Mosque of Cordoba and the AVE. The hotel is defined with a rather classical decoration that can be seen in the rooms and in the common areas. It has free WiFi, breakfast buffet, meeting rooms, social lounge, restaurant and garage. You can stay in one of the 104 rooms with TV, WiFi, air conditioning or room service.

Approaching the hotel from the main road we were unsure what to expect as it is located down one of Cordoba’s many narrow side streets. However, internally the hotel and its rooms have been beautifully refurbished and we couldn’t have wished for better accommodation. Staff were always helpful and the breakfast was very good with lots of choice. It ranks as one of the best hotels we have stayed in in Spain.

It is perfectly located for walking to the main visitor attractions and there are plenty of good eating and drinking places nearby.

From a somewhat unimposing entrance you enter a lovely clean and comfortable, stylish hotel which is the perfect place from which to explore old town Cordoba.

The Mezquita or Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba a MUST visit, is a short walk away as are the Moroccan style narrow streets of the old arab area. Dinner and Breakfast are buffet style with a good selection which should satisfy everyone.

The hotel itself is not hard to find, located in a very narrow street just off a major shopping street Calle Concepcion. It is about 1km North of Cordoba’s chief attraction, the Mezquita, and about 400m West of the city’s main square Plaza de las Tendillas. This makes it easy to walk to virtually all points of interest.

Great location – in the centre of Cordoba. Spacious room with very comfortable beds, huge bathroom with a big shower. Free toiletries, big wardrobe. Delicious breakfast – great choice of things, very nice people working at the reception. Good value for money and gay friendly hotel in Cordoba, Spain.

Also a good size private bathroom and room, the hotel is a bit old and simple but clean, less than 40 euros, quiet, in a parallel street of the hop on and hop off tourist bus route (which let us take our luggage from and to the train station).

4. NH Córdoba Califa 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Cordoba

NH Córdoba Califa
NH Córdoba Califa

Situated on the edge of the historic Judería district, NH Córdoba Califa offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, a pillow menu and satellite TV. Cordoba AVE Train Station is just 800 m away.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Mezquita Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many interesting shops and typical tapas bars can be found in the surrounding streets.

NH Córdoba Califa has a typical Andalusian courtyard and a lounge bar. A daily breakfast buffet is served in the café.

The NH Cordoba Califa is conveniently situated on the border between Cordoba’s Old Town and its thriving new business district, a perfect location for both sightseeing and business travel. The hotel sits at the entrance to the “Juderia Cordobesa”, the Jewish Quarter.

We chose this hotel because having stayed at other NH hotels we at least knew what to expect and we got exactly what we paid for. It’s no luxury hotel but the location was great for us and the main pull for us was the on-site parking garage.

Very nice, clean hotel and room. All the furniture in great shape, velvet curtains, marble sink top – a feeling of some luxury. We had a standard room: very quiet and sunny, not big but not small either. A very comfortable bed, nice linens, pillows and towels. great shower. Wifi worked great. Desk and chair in the room. Bench good for 1 suitcase. Closet with storage. Small fridge was nice.

Professional staff spoke excellent English and very nice. Parking underground the hotel was very convenient and only 14 euro per day.

The room was great, clean and roomy, comfy bed and a great shower. The location is great, a short walk from all the attractions, restaurants and shopping area. Breakfast is excellent with a big variety to choose from, and served in a beautiful patio.

The breakfast was excellent, a large buffet with all you want, sweet, salty and fruits. The service excellent and friendly.

Hotel Califa is a good, solid mid-range hotel (~$100-$150, depending) It was clean, comfortable, professional, boasted a small parking garage; all the basics were well covered. It has great location: a mild walk to either the old town sights and river or to the city center, and across from an extended and active strip of city park.

What boosted it to “excellent” was the breakfast buffet. Definitely do this! Day after day it was the best spread I have ever seen in a hotel, bar none: 5 different pitchers of fresh fruit juice, a real, high quality selection of cheeses and meats, pastries galore, a dozen or two trays of adjuncts to spoon into your yogurt, and on and on.

5. Hospes Palacio del Bailio Córdoba 5* – Gay Friendly Hotels Cordoba

Hospes Palacio del Bailio
Hospes Palacio del Bailio

This 5-star lgbt friendly hotel occupies a 16th-Century palace in the heart of the ancient city of Córdoba. It has an outdoor pool set in pretty gardens.

The elegant rooms of the Hospes Palacio del Bailio fuse past and present. Some include original wall paintings, and all have flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Rich materials such leather and velvet are used throughout the hotel. The bathrooms are particularly luxurious.

The Palacio del Bailio offers plenty of space to relax. You can unwind in the flower garden or on the sun terrace surrounded by orange trees. Alternatively, you can enjoy a range of treatments at the hotel’s exclusive Bodyna Spa.

This is a unique place in the city center of cordoba. Everything is in walking distance and you will be walking back and forth a lot because you also want to spend time in the lovely hotel. Check in was really great. The concierge took over and made sure everything was dealt with, he gave us great advice and made us feel like everything was possible.

Our room was also ready before officiel check in time. The room is beautiful, we were welcomed with water and fresh figs, pomegranate and dried fruits. We got a private tour at the Roman remains and had a lovely time in the Roman baths.

The very nice design of this boutique hotel is typically Andalusian-Arab. The courtyard is an oasis of tranquility (outdoor swimming pool, lovely garden and fragrant trees). Very good breakfast.Parking not included in the price but reasonable price.

We tried the hotel’s bar and were impressed by the good quality of the food. Friendly staff.
Room was large and clean. The bathroom was large, well equipped and very clean.

The location is good on the northern end of town a short walk to all the major sites and the shopping district, train station, buses.

Breakfast was served in a room that had a glass floor that had views into the basement area of the hotel, which actually was preserved Roman ruins.
A fantastic and sympathetic use of the feature.

The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout.
It is in a area that is on the edge of the historic district, perfect for exploring this wonderful city.
Córdoba has always been on our wish list for our Andalucían road trip and it didn’t disappoint.

Fantastic luxury hotel with an avant-garde design in an old manor house.
It offers a small but relaxing spa and a restaurant located in an inner courtyard over the traces of an impressive Roman villa.
It also treated you with an outdoor pool in a beautiful court full of aromatic plants and fruit trees

Great garden for lunch or drinks, and a nice small pool – more a plunge pool than anything else. The breakfast was good, and the room was a nice size. It’s about 15 minutes walk to the main tourist attractions, and easy to get lost, but taxis are not expensive.

The hotel uses the old buildings well and has courtyards, an outdoor and indoor pool plus its own Roman ruins under the glass dining room floor. A tour round these by the knowledgeable staff was very interesting. It’s only about a 10 min walk to the main attractions and the hotel is quiet, has good air conditioning and is very well run. The staff are very attentive and professional. Breakfast is a good buffet with freshly cooked hot dishes and coffee (much better than eggs sitting in hot dishes for ages).
