This is an excellent, quaint hotel located on a quiet campo just a 3 minute walk to Piazza San Marco and right next door to the Murano glass factory showroom. Many wonderful cafes and restaurants nearby. Very close to all the action ( 2 – 3 minute walk to gondola rides) yet very quiet campo.
Even though it’s only 5 minutes away from the loud multitudes of St Mark’s Square, the inn is in a very quiet location. However, a number of restaurants are just around the corner too. There’s also a clean, unstaffed, albeit expensive, laundromat (Effe Erre Laundry) no more than 5 minutes away.
Location was a few minutes from St. Marks. Patricia was superb, recommending a glass demo/shop tour right in the area without having to spend 1/2 day in Murano. Room was nice, clean and restful. Breakfast offered many options besides the traditional espresso and croissant, very nice. All staff were very nice and helpful.
The hotel is located in a quiet and peaceful square just steps from St. Mark’s Square. Everything is easily walkable and the location could not be better. All of our rooms were cozy, very comfortable, and absolutely spotless. AC was available if desired, but most of us just opened the windows. The rooms were serviced daily.
The showers had plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. The beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was just perfect and included various rolls, jams, cheeses, meats, cereals, and yogurt. The coffee and espresso was plentiful and excellent. There is a small breakfast room on the first floor, and you can also eat breakfast outside overlooking the square and watch the city come alive in the morning.
! The hotel also offers a recommended tour guide you can book with- Alvise- also highly recommend! Perhaps best of all was the warm welcome we always received when returning to the hotel. There was always a smile and the offer of cold water or hot coffee. We truly felt like family and cannot wait to return to Locanda Casa Querini.

The location is perfect, we took a water bus (not taxi) directly from the airport and walked for 2 minutes to get to the hotel, can’t get any easier than that (unless you can find a place with a helipad). It is close to San marco and trust me you don’t want to be too far from this area if you want to walk around at night without worrying about how to get back to your hotel.
Perfect location between St Marks & the Rialto bridge, 5 mins to the water bus but far enough away from sites to be quiet. The only time we took a water bus was to & from the airport and to see all around the island as we walked everywhere.
Our room didn’t have a canal view but they are available at higher price, our large twin room was on the side facing another building & nice & quiet. You can see canals and gondolas all over Venice!
Breakfast had a good variety and staff here were professional, pleasant and efficient.
he room cleaning service was excellent and they went to great care and effort preparing the room with the evening turn-down service, it was a real treat to return after a long day out.
The room was exceptionally spacious with great views of St Marks, the canal and the street. Breakfast was a pretty standard choice, nicely presented and freshly made as it was continually re-stocked through service. The staff provided an excellent service, and were attentive and provided everything we asked for quickly and with a smile.
The room allocated was spacious fresh and immaculate as was the roomy bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and despite the central location there was very little noise internal or external. The room staff kept the room immaculate and there was a nightly turn down service and tidy up. My only small complaint is that there only appeared to be one socket available for us to use – we had to take it in turns to charge our mobiles. Additionally the hair dryer provided in the bathroom was dated and effectively useless for a woman with thick hair. I would have used the one power point in the bedroom with the slightly better hairdryer the hotel provided on request but there was no mirror at the socket – I had to buy one at a local pharmacy. Strangely, despite the elegance of the native Venetian ladies I did not spot a single hairdressing salon – however I’m sure that Reception would have assisted if asked.
The staff were wonderful. The bespectacled gentleman on Reception could not have been more helpful and gracious assisting not only us, but an endless succession of guests, with directions, recommendations, tickets and travel arrangements. Despite long hours none of the staff lost their smiles or good humour and this created a very pleasant ambience which added greatly to our enjoyment.
Breakfast was of good quality and staff pleasant and efficient despite some demanding guests (request for ‘takeaway’ cup for coffee – it wasn’t Starbucks!)
The hotel has a superb location. It is down a little narrow street with some pleasant restaurants and lovely little shops ( fabulous leather handbags!). It backs on to its sister hotel which in turn has a Terrace backing on to the canal. The Terrace staff are very obliging and the cocktails and meal we had there one night excellent. Five minutes walk in one direction takes you to Rialto Bridge and five minutes in the other direction to San Marco. Perfect.
Aside from the great staff the other lovely thing about the hotel is it’s jetty through a door to right of reception right onto canal – so you can arrive by motorboat in style. We advance booked our travel to the hotel and were met at airport and car taxi took us for what seemed like miles to a water dock for short journey to hotel by boat. I much preferred the return journey where we shared ( at suggestion hotel – much appreciated) a water taxi all the way from the hotel door to the airport travelator. Worth every penny to see Venice behind you as you speed across the sea.
I would recommend this hotel without hesitation as the base for a visit to this incredible place.

The location was fantastic, tucked away by a lovely little square, yet a three minute walk to get you to the grand canal, right next to the Rialto bridge. Clear directions were provided to the property. The rooms are generously proportioned and spotlessly clean, bathrooms in particular were great.
Its lovely to take breakfast in their nice outdoor courtyard, beautiful fresh rolls and pastries were provided from a local bakery as well as cereals/fruit etc.
It is blessed with a great location in a quiet neighbourhood – 5 minute walk to the Rialto and within 20 minute walk to any location in Venice! It is done up with very tasteful interiors, clean, warm and comfortable – it is more than a B&B!
. Our favorite part was the fantastic location and the King size bed, which is unbeatable for the price. The whole place occupied a few hundred square feet of a floor in a typical 15th century Venetian building. It’s more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, with friendly staff, a common area to sit and read, and a light breakfast of sweets and coffee every morning (we would have preferred something with protein and less sugar).
Our water taxi dropped us off at the San Silvestro stop on the Grand Canal where we wheeled our luggage train along the narrow, ancient streets. It took about 5 minutes to get to the unassuming door in a small alley off of a church square. The alley door leads to an exceptionally (and surprisingly) peaceful courtyard with a door to the rooms.
Our room overlooked the courtyard. It was spacious and clean with bathroom that boasted a big tub and standing shower.

Overlooking a typical Venetian , the Arlecchino Hotel is 100 m from Piazzale Roma square, where you can find Venice’s central train and bus station, and the ferry port. Housed in a historic building, it offers elegant rooms with free WiFi.
These rooms are air conditioned and feature a satellite TV and minibar. Each has a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, while some have canal views.
The position of Arlecchino hotel make it easy access via car/aeroplane/train or even cruise ship.hotel arlecchino is unique for the fact that it is extremely close to Piazzale roma, the entrance of Venice, making any transport of luggage,trouble free, also easy car parking,pre -arranged , if necessary by the management. Piazzale roma is also the shuttle stop for cruiseship and Venice airports. The bedrooms are all decorated in a typical venetian style with er,air conditioning private bath, hairdryer telephone , satellite tv…THE Breakfast room has windows facing into one of the typical canal.
The Hotel is less than 10 minutes walking distance from the bus stop at Piazzale Roma where the bus from the airport stops.
While the rooms, reception area and elevator are small, the location is great to start exploring Venice from. Very close to major transportation hub–could easily ride bus from airport to hub for 8 Euros. The hub for the vaporettos was a short walking distance and one could go anywhere from there. Accessible to car taxi to transfer to cruise port. Easy and safe area to explore. On corner of two canals. Bed was comfortable and breakfast buffet good.
Great choice particularly if you plan to spend a few days in Venice after your cruise disembarks (or leaves) from the Port of Venice, Convenient location to and from the Piazzale Roma, the transport gateway into Venice proper. After disembarkation find your way to the “People Mover” — 1,5 Euros (automated ticketing) for a short (3-4 minute) ride to Piazzale Roma. From there you can walk about 250 Meters to the hotel. A few short stair cases to navigate across the first Canal. In total, you can get from the ship to the hotel in under 30 minutes for 1,5 Euros per person!! Spacious rooms and EXCELLENT internet connection.
Hotel has a great breakfast, Continental +plus eggs, cold cuts, selection of cereals, yogurts, fruits etc . Well worth the 5 euros extra for breakfast.
Its a 20 – 30 meander from the hotel to San Marco square, but a wonderful way to see Venice by foot and getting lost in the Venezia maze is more than half the experience.
If you are departing Venice via air, either Marco Polo or Treviso, getting to the airport is even simpler! Back track the 250 meters to Piazzale Roma, get your tickets, board the bus and 20 minutes you are there (for Marco Polo).
We were given a good sized room with twin beds, but we were offered & preferred to change to a smaller double bedroom on the 4th floor, with both bath & shower, small but cosy, and all we needed.
We were lucky enough to have a corner room with a wonderful view, the type of view you would dream of in imagining a trip to Venice. The bathroom was very small but recently renovated and very nice. The location is also very convenient to public transportation and many restaurants.

If you’re so far into planning a trip to Venice that you’ve got this far, you know that there are no inexpensive ways to experience the city. But for about the same price you can find a “cookie cutter” hotel, you can spend about the same amount and have a truly unique experience in one the city’s best establishments. Others will tell you of the Metropolis s location–it is excellent, about 200 yards from the Doge’s Palace.
Just walking around the hotel is a treat. Collections of crucifixes, fans, and other things line the walls. Each room (we saw several) is different and remind you that you’re in Venice. The rooms are neither large or small, but we were especially pleased with the baths with huge showers that were a treat in themselves. The bar was a delight, and even surprised this Louisianian with a Sazerac cocktail.
The food in the restaurant and the bar were excellent, and beautifully served. Nothing was too much trouble, whether we wanted directions, water taxi or anything else for that matter. Location was excellent as we wanted to cover as many of the 10 things directed in the guide book for Venice, particularly things like the Doge’s Palace which was awesomely beautiful. We would definitely return to this hotel, given the quality of food, cleanliness, the wonderful staff, the service and its location.
The hotel location is good, a few doors along from the Danieli and a short walk to the Doge’s Palace and St Mark’s. We arrived by water taxi direct from the airport and were met at a neat little private dock on the canal on one side of the property. The Riva di Schiavoni in front of the hotel is very busy with tourists, even in March, but we discovered if we followed the passageway by the side of the hotel in less than 100 yards we were away from the noise and bustle, and could explore the real Venice in peace.
The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, upgrading us to a suite, and arranging an excellent tour by water taxi of parts of Venice you would not otherwise see.
The hotel style is very Venetian, plush velvets, dark furniture, low-wattage light bulbs and so on, which I thought was rather fun. We had a quiet room at the back overlooking a small garden. The bed was very comfortable.
Lavish breakfast buffet was served in a lovely garden room, where one could also have coffee/drinks/snacks at other times during the day; the hotel also offered a convivial “clubby” bar, where we were toasted with a complimentary Prosecco on my birthday, and a Michelin–Star restaurant.
The room was a little snug but very comfortable and the perfect temperature with the sweltering heat outside. We spent a couple of nights relaxing with cocktails in the gardens/terrace which are very attractively designed with different private areas to sit if you want some peace and quiet. We did enjoy the Oriental bar on our first evening with a good selection of beverages and the Michelin star restaurant was super with excellent wine pairings which complemented the meal. Again the staff were outstanding throughout which made our stay truly memorable.
