What a wonderful long weekend, in this fantastic place. Central and quiet location. Tastefully furnished rooms with all luxury and comforts and with a spacious balcony. Downstairs a good restaurant, with a wide choice every morning from the breakfast buffet and your scrambled eggs or omelet freshly prepared by the super friendly staff.
.We had a beautiful modern apartment with all facilities. The well designed App has a modern styled kitchen and bathroom with a lot of wood in the living room for the cosy home feeling. Great extras in the room are a nespresso machine, bathrobes and iron.
The building: You can park in the basement and there is a nice wellness. Downstairs in the complex is a great restaurant. they serve great food, have beautiful wines and all staff is very pleasant!
Situated right in the middle of the city center, close to everything there is to do. The rooms are well decorated, and everything you can imagine is there. The beds are comfortable, there is even a mattress topper for extra comfort. The restaurant in the hotel is very good. Generous breakfast, exciting dishes for dinner. They even have a DJ playing in the restaurant in the weekend. Very friendly staff.
We forgot about skiing so much were we in love with the amazing penthouse apartment! An incredible view over the mountains, the cosy fireplace and spacious apartment left us in awe! There is a jacuzzi on the balcony and a private sauna in the apartment. The served breakfast was delicious and the downstairs restaurant is delicious! Shuttle service was on point and overall service of the staff was excellent in all different languages! Also the gym was nice to have in the basement. Indoor car park was a big plus in the winter.

Lovely modern hotel nestled in the middle of a quaint area, rooms were great and very spacious , main gripe was no air conditioning , on arrival we asked for fans for two to be delivered straight away to the room, these were very effective especially as the temperature had dropped from the day before we arrived from 32 degrees to a lovely 24 degrees so the room was fine with the mountain breeze, we were able to have the windows open at night despite the noise from the local bar which went on till about 3am. Feather pillows and duvet were replaced immediately we requested this due to allergies, the staff were super efficient and nothing too much trouble.
Beds were large and comfortable , sheets were not changed whilst we were there which was for a four nights stay , would have expected them to be changed midway.
Great location with a bus stop five minutes away to many places, short walk to a cable car trip and dry toboggan run , nice to go up the cable car to a cafe at the top to sit and have a drink or bite to eat .
Very large supermarket near by selling everything one could need.
The food was good , it was buffet style and got very busy and food wasn’t replenished very often so less choice as the meal went on.
No kettle in the room which I think is standard for Austria so take your own if you like a cuppa in your room.
This hotel is well situated close to shops, bars and restaurants. The ski bus stop is very close and it is only a few minutes walk to the new lift.
The hotel is modern and stylish but has a welcoming feel, due in no small part to the lovely staff who are friendly and seem very keen to please. My room was large and comfortable with plenty of storage. There is a safe provided free of charge. Wifi is also complimentary. There is a minibar. Rooms facing the street suffer from noise from revellers.
Hotel facilities all very good, clean and modern but cosy. Food breakfast and dinner both buffet style was varied, local and of a good standard.

Excellent SpA with very attractive options. Pools, saunas, massage (not tried though). Loved the saunas (6 options), shower options and outside pool freezing in snow! extremely, recommended absolutely! All clean, well maintained facilities and material, a big pleasure.
The all hotel staff starting reception, restaurant and finally at spa was very friendly, helpful and professional at their duties. Excellent relaxation zone divided for families and “adults only”. Great choice for breakfast and a la carte at evening.
A lot of small things that make your stay at “Das Alpenhaus” very convenient and memorable (bag for towels for bath, bottle of drinking water in room free of charge every day, enough different hangers in closet, lot of additives for breakfast muesli, separate closed smoking room next to the bar, large room for skis, snowboards and boots, etc) Every corner and moment of stay is very customised for leisure and pleasure. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay in Kaprun.

3. Mountain Hotel Luis 4* – Gay Friendly Hotels Kaprun

We had a wonderful time staying here, the welcome was very friendly and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. The apartments are have everything to cook breakfast or dinner. Although with its central location it is easy to walk out into the village for dinner and drinks. The restaurant also has great food, in our view some of the best in town. The wellness and pool are great additions that made our stay perfect.
The hotel has a beautiful wellness area, including a pool with ample sun from the morning to late afternoon. The bar and restaurant operate separately from the hotel, but they serve really tasty food. It is centrally located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Kaprun. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel just opened before the Corona crisis and some items may need improvement, but they are not even worth mentioning.
New and beautiful hotel located right in Kaprun. Very close to the Ski Lift and with perfect access to the Skibus which takes you to Kitzsteinhorn or Zell am See. Very nice rooms in a modern alpine style. Well equipped with small kitchen. Every room has a parking lot in the garage. Good storage facilities for ski and boots incl. warm boot dryers. Beautiful spa area with saunas and a warm outdoor pool.
The wellness spa is amazing and the hotel boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool accessible from the inside of the spa, so you never need to get out in the cold. It was great to be in the warm pool with the snow coming down! It has a relaxation area (which we didn’t use) and two saunas (which we used daily after long skiing days). Complimentary flavoured tea is also available to drink after your dip in the pool.
The restaurant and bar area is run by a separate company from the hotel. The food however was really nice and offered a nice break from pizza (with pizzerias littered all over Kaprun).
The bar area is really nice and we sat at the bar stools mostly… the Zipfer beer was our favourite and is very reasonably priced.
As for the location of the hotel, it’s perfect! It’s right next door to a Ski School and Rental shop and my friend rented snowboarding equipment without reservation. It’s about an 8 minute walk to the Maiskogel ski lift (in ski boots), which is the start of your journey to the top of the Kitzsteinhorn mountain. Skiing the glacier was amazing.
