We found it added to the character a traditional austrian hotel. Im sure there are plenty of 5* modern tech hotels to choose from if that’s what you want but won’t be for the same price. Lovely swimming pool and sauna included in price so take swimwear. Rooms cleaned everyday towels changed to – ok they were not big fluffy bath sheets but they did the job.

We were on half board basis breakfast lovely self serve buffet type. Choice of eggs hard boiled scrambled fried. bacon and sausages. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal, usual cheeses and meats, fresh orange juice, choice tea coffee brought to you. Evening meal served at the hotel up the road 5 min walk – set 3 course menu (Vegetarian option also) very nice and some of food we had we would not of usually ordered so nice to try something different and salad included too – staff very nice and friendly.

Rooms are a good size with plenty of storage space, large flat screen tv (just a few English channels), a fairly comfortable bed with (as other people have stated) very soft square pillows. The bathroom was a decent size and kept very clean throughout our stay (plenty of fresh towels provided), but we felt it needed some updating. Soap etc was initially provided, but we bought our own following advice from other reviewers.

Breakfasts were very good indeed. Fruit juice, plenty of fresh fruit (including delicious cherries and strawberries), yogurt, various cheeses and different meats, bacon and eggs and good coffee/tea were all provided in the well furnished breakfast room which overlooks the front garden.

The indoor pool is lovely and the water was a pleasant temperature – just perfect for tired aching legs after days out hiking.

The spa was also a big selling point for me when I booked it. On the bed in the room on arrival was a robe, slippers and a tote bag with a towel for the spa, nice start to the trip! The spa itself is split into 2 areas, one is the nude side and the other is non nude.

I stayed on the non nude side where there was the outdoor pool and jacuzzi (I thought it was crazy at first but even in the freezing cold weather it’s actually lovely!), then inside there was a sauna and I think it was called a Latin Steam room or something along those lines? The whole spa area was spotlessly clean and it was never too busy in there, it was a great place to unwind after a long day on the slopes!

If you fancy a week away in Austria for Snowbombing or for general skiing or snowboarding I would definitely recommend. It’s very central on the main road and quite near the ski lifts. It’s good value and the rooms are very decent size. Had a lovely bath which I think is very necessary when you have been covered in snow all day.

Located centrally on the main street, we found that once through the front door, you reached a peaceful, relaxed hotel that was a pleasure to return to each day. We were greeted by a friendly, efficient receptionist, who in no time had us booked in and taken to our room. We were in a first floor room on the side of the hotel.

Great storage, comfortable beds and more than enough room for the two of us. The room was kept exceptionally clean throughout our stay.
We had booked on a half board basis. Breakfast was continental, bu there was an option to have cooked food if you preferred.

A very nice touch was the provision of packed lunches if we wanted them, which saved time and expense before we headed off into the mountains. The evening meals followed a familiar pattern, – salad, soup, starter, main and desert – sounds daunting, but portion sizes are sensible. We enjoyed all that we had, most of the meals were Tyrolean and were very well prepared. All of the restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient – nothing was too much trouble.

A pleasant surprise with this hotel is the rooftop pool and spa. After a long day trekking the mountains, it was pleasure to return and relax next to the pool.

The hotel is typically Austrian inside with a cosy bar area that serves great hot chocolates!
The rooms were a little old fashioned but we wanted for nothing – the beds were really comfy, we had English TV, cosy robes and slippers and they were very clean and warm.

We used the pool every day and it was amazing to relax on the roof and was never too crowded.

When you’re feeling hungry, be sure to check out China-Restaurant Singapore, which is an Asian restaurant that is popular with locals and out-of-towners alike.

Located less than a minute’s walk from the centre of Mayrhofen, I could easily nip to the shops for a browse or enjoy a hot chocolate at the cafes nearby. Or, I’d head to the gondola to meet everyone else for lunch at the top of the mountain – it was very easy to navigate.

The rooms are spread over two separate but connected buildings, one (probably the original) done in a more traditional Austrian style and one newer, more modern building. The design throughout is very well done so that the two styles are not at all jarring, but rather complement each other nicely. Our room was in the newer of the two buildings and was simply wonderful, modern and comfortably furnished with comfy seating options both inside and out on the balcony.

The bathroom was large with a separate shower and a large tub. Music can be played on the speakers from the controls in the bathroom. I had a separate sitting area with TV and refrigerator. The steam/sauna/pool was accessible with your room keycard.

The area was large so you didn’t feel crowded as everyone could spread out. It was very relaxing and soothing. There is also a spa which I did not use. This hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the railway station and just a few minutes off of the main streets of Mayrhofen. I was able to walk to both gondolas in a few minutes as well as the central streets of the city. I had the half-board which included breakfast, dinner and an afternoon snack. The meals were absolutely wonderful.

We all had rooms in the traditional part of the hotel, but they’re very modern and extremely comfortable. The bedrooms are light, spacious and with plenty of wardrobe space. Each room offers a tablet that you can take anywhere in the hotel allowing you access to (according to my son) 3000 different world newspapers. Guests are invited to use the tablet anywhere in the hotel, i.e. rooms, spa, bar.
The bathrooms are amazing with rain shower, double sinks and deep bath. My son had a “single” room which was also spacious and had a double bed. We all had spacious balconies.
Reception, bar and restaurant staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, most especially the Christmas (eve) dinner. In the mornings it’s completely self service but you can order omelettes and other types of egg to be cooked fresh. Dinner is selected from a menu each day but always offers a delicious buffet salad starter; all other courses are waiter served. Food was exceptional. Tasty, wholesome and perfectly proportioned. The bar area is very welcoming and comfortable with a great selection of drinks available.

The Elisabeth offers an amazing spa facility – the best i’ve experienced. Very spacious and tranquil pool area – 17 m pool plus jacuzzi. Sauna and steam rooms in the clothed area – there is also a very well equipped nude area that includes infra red cabin – we Brits stuck to the clothed spa. And the treatments on offer were varied and very sensibly priced. I had a full body massage (50 minutes) for 68 euros….. very good value for money. This enormous spa facility truly is outstanding!

The hotel obviously has a ski/boot room though we only used this once as it was very convenient to store the skis/boots at the top of the Penkenbahn. The hotel facility was excellent – nice warm boots in the morning – but my only criticism would be the steep slope to the room as it’s underground.

The hotel has a traditional Zillertal front, but inside it is a very modern hotel and spa with terrific amenities.

I went with the half board option, and was a little nervous as I am not one to have assigned times to eat, but I am really glad that I did. The dinners were all excellent with a great variety over the the time there. They do have options for vegetarians if you are interested.

I stayed in the premium relax room, and it was very large and nice. I was really impressed with the quality and views.

The Spa is beautiful.
