Hideaway Noosa Men Only Beach Resort

Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in Noosa Heads Australia (2024 Updated)

Perhaps it’s the region’s San Francisco–like weather and progressive vibe, or its diverse yet well-integrated population (you won’t find a concentrated “gayborhood” like Sydney’s Darlinghurst and Oxford Street here); Melbourne and Noosa Heads in  Australia are about as LGBTfriendly as they come. With many gay friendly hotels Noosa Heads to choose from it’s a great summer or winter destination

Australia is one of the most LGBT-friendly countries in the world. In a 2013 Pew Research poll, 79% of Australians agreed that homosexuality should be accepted by society, making it the fifth most supportive country in the survey behind Spain (88%), Germany (87%), Canada and the Czech Republic (both 80%).

Noosa Heads is a coastal town and suburb of the Shire of Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is located approximately 136 kilometres north of Brisbane, the state’s capital.

1. Hideaway Noosa Men Only Beach Resort 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Noosa Heads

Hideaway Noosa Men Only Beach Resort
Hideaway Noosa Men Only Beach Resort

Offering clothing optional accommodation for gay and bisexual men, Hideaway Noosa Men Only Beach Resort is less than 1 minutes’ walk from the beautiful sands of Peregian Beach. Guests enjoy free WiFi, an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, an outdoor hot tub and a men’s theatre room.

Each of the air-conditioned rooms has a flat-screen TV and a private or shared bathroom. Some rooms offer a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. There is also a communal kitchenette.

After a relaxing day at the beach, guests can laze on a sun lounger by the pool.

If you are visiting the Sunshine Coast as a Gay traveller add Hideaway to your destination list

A boutique resort with pool, spa and comfortable rooms . Walking distance to the Beach and only a few minutes to Peregian’s great gay friendly restaurants.

The room was clean, and roomy, with a kitchenette ,lounge,tv, all you need really. The ensuite was also clean and lovely.  The pool area is great, a tropical balinese style.

Private & beautiful gay (clothing optional) motel next to the main road. Only 4 car parks but some street parking. Pool is private & beautiful, room & shared bathroom are clean. There is jacuzzi, video & dark room too! Fun and relaxing.

The resort is tranquil and allows people to relax and play as much as they want.
The rooms are clean and have the usual mod cons but the back rooms do share two showers and loos.

The staff were very nice and in particular Luiz, the manager, was most helpful and welcoming.
There is a nice pool, loungers, two sitting areas, a hot tub and a “Play Room”. All very nicely laid out.
The Balinese influence gives the place a homely feel.

The people I met when I was staying there were very nice and I would certainly return when I next visit the Sunshine Coast.

Is a lovely small completely private time capsule, where you can completely unwind and relax, safe in the knowledge that you can be yourself. It’s such a complete pleasure to be able to enjoy the beautiful Queensland sunshine clothing optional if you want to, and no one bats an eyelid. Being a gay resort, of course there is plenty of action if you want to join in, but there is no pressure to be anything other than yourself.

Most of the poolside rooms have been updated and I stayed in room 1A which is round the back. It was perfect, being quiet and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and everything you could need. Spotlessly clean, with plenty of towels, pipping hot water, fridge, aircon etc.
Peregian beach is a lovely small village, with plenty of places to eat and a very good IGA supermarket, bottle shop, pharmacy, GP etc. I’d highly recommend the 20 minute stroll from the resort along the beach for breakfast.

To get the most out of staying at Mens Hideaway, as a visitor from overseas, a car is really helpful if you want to explore Noosa, or other places along the coast, but there is a frequent bus service if you don’t want to drive. However the sort of guys I’ve met on my visits are more than happy to give you a lift somewhere and that’s the real joy in this hectic life we all seem to lead, connecting with like minded people, sharing a meal, glass of wine or a beer and swapping stories. It’s been said before, but the owner of the resort has found a gem in Luiz, I really don’t know of anything as unique as Mens Hideaway anywhere else in the world. Highly recommended and I will return for sure when I next visit down under.

With shopping, dining and sun drenched beaches just steps away you’re perfectly positioned in the heart of Hastings Street to enjoy Noosa’s village charm. Take the time and indulge in a relaxing Spa treatment and our culinary delights at our signature restaurant, Noosa Beach House Peter Kuruvita.

The location is fantastic, which is ultimately why we booked there, and also due to the lack of 5 star offerings in Noosa near Hastings street.

This place is fantastic. It is expensive, but I think it is worth it given the location, great pool and rooms. I am definitely giving our stay 5 stars.

The staff is very friendly and brings good engagement and energy making for an informal and relaxed stay. The hotel is clearly built around its pool and delivering there with a well maintained pool facility and great energy delivered around the pool bar.

Noosa as a destination is a fantastic place and the hotel is extremely well connected to surroundings sitting a stone throw away from the beach and the Noosa National park. Last but not least the property is right on Hastings street, the main shopping road in Noosa.

However the location does not come free of trouble. Access to the restaurant for breakfast is a little odd as one has to exit the hotel main building to get there. The breakfast selection is however good and the chefs are very friendly. A small let down would be the coffees/coffee selection.

The rooms are very spacious and well cleaned but would appear quite toned-down and simple to many. They are not as fresh and splashy as some other Sofitel hotels but rather closer to Pullman/Novotel standards. The same goes for the bathrooms well equipped with a bath and separate overhead shower cabin but lacking simple things like a proper shower hose.

The hotel is situated in an ideal location, walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants, cafe’s, the beach and other amenities.

The staff are helpful. Concierge assisted me organize a shuttle bus to Brisbane airport.
The pool is fantastic, modern and comfortable beds, the pool bar is served wonderful cocktails and food is available too.

I was very surprised with the gym, the gym equipment was really good, top of the range.
The rooms are clean, bathroom spacious with good lighting, tea/coffee making facilities available, the beds were comfortable, housekeeping staff were friendly.

Would highly recommend the hotel.

3. The Sebel Noosa 4* – LGBT Friendly Hotels Noosa Heads

The Sebel Noosa
The Sebel Noosa

Located in the heart of Hastings Street, just 100 m walk from Noosa Beach, The Sebel Noosa features apartments with a balcony, a spa bath and a modern fully equipped kitchen. Guests enjoy a resort-style pool, a hot tub and a fitness centre. The property is 5 minutes’ drive from Noosaville.

All apartments feature a spacious lounge area with a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and a sofa bed. Guests can enjoy an outdoor meal in the BBQ area.

The Sebel Noosa is within easy walking distance of Noosa National Park, the Noosa River and several shops and restaurants. The reception staff can arrange restaurant and tour bookings and transfers.

Just moments from Noosa’s main beach and surrounded by world-class restaurants, cafes and boutique stores, The Sebel Noosa is an oasis in the heart of cosmopolitan Hastings Street. Take the opportunity to lounge by the pool or bask in the sun along the beach, or simply escape in our Hampton inspired apartments, which are perfect for families,  gay couples and groups. Free parking is available and entry to car-park is available from Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads. The Sebel Noosa aims to exceed guest expectations and ensure their experiences are memorable.

I preferred Sebel for its apartment style room with fully functional kitchen and great location on Hasting Street (the main street @ Noosa head). Fantastic and helpful staffs, Reception was caring, gentle and useful while selecting tour options. Also, they offer Pool side happy hour drinks and 5 PM drinks for Accor members which was a pleasant surprise.

I really liked the location – the Sebel is situated in a great position on Hastings Street and is moments from Main Beach. Despite this it is perfectly quiet. I pretty sure our windows had triple glazing on them.

The bed was a bit small for two so I went to sleep in the other room, so I was grateful for that.

We chose the Sebel on location and price, and felt that it delivered on both. Hastings Street is right on the doorstep so it was super easy to get to the local facilities. Meals/room service are provided by the Aromas Restaurant.

Beautiful and large one bedroom apartment. Kitchen is very basic so wouldn’t do much cooking. Small pool which we didn’t go in but lovely sun beds around it. Quiet in apartment and comfy bed. Very helpful and nice staff. Excellent location right in the middle of everything and just across from the beach. I would stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location, right on Hastings street, the pool is beautiful, but can be a bit noisy if your room faces onto the pool area.  The fact that the reception area is in a separate building to the accommodation is a bit of a nuisance, particularly if it’s raining. The lack of a dining room and bar is disappointing, but considering the surrounding restaurants and bars it wasn’t a problem.

The Sebel Noosa it situated between Noosa Parade and Hastings Street, right in the middle of all the action. In terms of location, you can’t ask for anything better. Hastings Street with all its shops and restaurants, plus walkthrough access to the main beach is in easy reach. Even the Noosa National Park is about 2km walk to the start and is a must see attraction to do the Coastal Walk. One of the most frustrating things with Noosa is finding a car park. So was great to know we had an undercover car park. But as we were so central, only ever drove when going to the outer shopping centres.

The resort itself consists of Sebel style, fully contained apartments. We stayed in a Deluxe 2-Bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor, overlooking the central pool. Each bedroom has its own bathroom ensuite. An oversized balcony and open living/dining/kitchen. The kitchen was fully equipped plus our own laundry for added convenience. The resort grounds are very nice but are tightly packed. The central swimming pool is at the heart of the resort. Despite being small, we never felt over crowded or never were not able to find sun lounges during our stay. In another block, there was a children’s pool (which was closed under construction), spa and BBQ area. There was also a modest gym in the basement carpark which served its purpose. The resort also had bicycles available for hire.

The staff at The Sebel Noosa were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Peyton, Reservation Supervisor, went over and above to make us feel welcome and accommodating. Truly grateful. Our friends were amazed at the level of service we received and the high standard set across The Sebel and Accor Group of hotels. Thanks again.
