Better Bed Room

Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel | Bangkok | Review |

Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel is located  10 minutes  walk from Ekkamai and Phra Kanong BTS Skytrain Stations, Better Bed is located in Ekkamai  area is one area that hipsters and coffee coffee lovers. Visited 2 coffee shops in that area and the coffee was very good!

Every time I go to Bangkok I try to stay a location close to Sukhumvit but not that close to the ground zero point of the area – Nana Plaza or Terminal 21; it’s too crowded and I like to spend time in a quiet area but in the same time close by BTS and no more than 3-5 station from Sukhumvit road.

Price is one of the factor while I am choosing a hotel; my budget being between 30 to 40$ per night for a hotel in downtown Bangkok.

Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel was in my range in spring when I stayed to it. Price for 2 nights paid on booking.com was 69$ for a double room/private but with shared bathroom.

The second reason why I chose it was due to the good reviews of Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel both on booking.com and Tripadvisor due to the hostel host: Lek.

Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel is located on a quiet street close to Ekkamai BTS Station or Phra Kanong BTS Skytrain; if you are having some baggages better stop at Phra Kanong; it’s a bit closer then Ekkamai.

So if there is not traffic in Don Mueang Area and the metro arrives on time you can get from Don Mueang to Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel in less than an hour. Talking about a city of more than 20 million person, that makes a very good location for Better Bed.

From Suvarhabumi Airport take the Airport Express Line to Phaya Thai and then change to BTS – Bearing Direction to Ekkamai ( 9 stations). Duration will be around 1h in total.

Room

I have booked a double bed room with shared toilets.  The room I booked was the Budget Double Room and from the photos from booking shower room was inside the room not outside as I was to discover after I have checked in. The other double room type available is  the Standard Double Room with Shared Bathroom (No window). I usually don’t book rooms with no windows in Bangkok because rooms tend to have a smell being a humid and rainy climate.

I don’t know who made the error on describing the room & facilities but this room type on booking says that the bathroom is private but actually is not and it is located just next to the room which does not make it such a big issue after all.

Room size is only 15 square meter and is quite small but decent for 2 person. If you have 2 or 3 luggages it would be a bit small. Room has a sink as well which makes it for washing the hands or teeth in the morning and evening without going to the toilet next door.

Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel. This air-conditioned double room has a flat-screen cable TV, a desk and chair. The private bathroom comes with towels, a hairdryer and a shower. Room facilities: Shower, Air conditioning, Hairdryer, Desk, Free toiletries, Toilet, Bathroom,Flat-screen TV, Wake-up service, Garden view, Towels, Linen, Clothes rack. Room, Toilet paper, Lowered sink, Trash cans, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body soap

Sometimes I wonder why some places still have the TV in the room. During my travels in my past 10 years I have stayed many hotels and hostels and I believed I opened the TV only to check if it’s working. The TV should be only in the common room so people can socialise more.

The room had a garden view not a street view and there is even a small golf court next to it and see how other people are playing.

Hairdryer was a good accessory in the room and it has to be a must for all the hotels.

The Clothes rack were as well very useful as well; not to many hotels do provide it and does not cost that much money.

Holy Sheet Hostel (former )Better Bed Hostel Reviews

Amazing place! I stayed here the first day I arrived in Thailand and after travelling around for 45 days and stayed in different hotels this was so far my favorite… the girl I forgot her name was always so nice and helpful. Affordable place , super clean , amazing air condition. I would definitely recommend it … and if I ever go back to Thailand I’m staying in this place for sure !!!

I stay in this hostel in a regular basis. Its is clean, quiet, Lek, who will be there for you at any moment is super friendly And helpful. She will make you feel at home. It is
Great for families, friends, sole travelers.. I recommend it without doubt !!

There was nothing that was too much for the owners of this hostel. They wanted to share their expertise and knowledge of the area to ensure you have the best trip. We stayed in the family room which was comfortable and very clean. The wifi worked perfectly. The breakfast is on the small size so I would recommend maybe adding a boiled egg. The air-conditioning worked really well. It is a hostel so everyone has a different schedule so you do hear others either at night or in the morning but it did not bother us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. This is truly a hostel with heart!
