Ciak Hostel Rome

Second time in Rome; same reason AS RomaLazio derby and to see again the tourists objective missed last time.

After the not so good experience with Legend Hostel last time I decided to book another hostel in Rome. This time I booked at Ciak Hostel.

Location:Viale Manzoni 55, located 10 minutes from the Termini Station and close to Manzoni Metro station, makes this hostel ideal for a short stay in Rome and easy access to the tourist sites. No elevator as well at this hostel, so if you carry many baggages, the stairs will be a hell for you. Close to it you can find many bars, a supermarket, fast-foods and of course pizza places.

Atmosphere: One of the reasons I choose this hostel was the Friday & Saturday Free Pasta Night – not for the free food but for the atmosphere. I know this kind of events makes single travelers communicate, interact and find local tips. And I wasn’t wrong this time, either. 15 people enjoying a lovely pasta, chatting and feeling great. All the merits goes to the 2 British lads whom are running the hostel.

Cleanliness & Rooms: Rooms not that small but too many beds in the 4 bedroom; I think 3 would have been fair enough. Bathroom not so clean – might have been due to the fact that a Jewish guy was accommodated in the same room I did.

Security: Lockers available – a safe place to leave your stuff in the room without worrying about.

Services and prices: 14 euro for the 4 bedroom dormitory & breakfast included it was a fair price to be paid. Staff very helpful and the free pasta nights are a great experience. Would I probably stay again at Ciak Hostel in Rome? Probably yes.

Recommend Ciak Hostel Rome  : 7.5/10.

The building is old, so is the interior areas. The room had almost no circulation space and just one small locker inside, just on the last day, we realized there were more lockers outside. The bathroom was inside the room and not the cleanest. Staff was nice, and the breakfast was included. Can be a two-night stay with no further problems.

Not too bad, not too good.
I stayed here for two or three nights, and even though I didn’t have any problems (staff is nice , rooms are ok) I thought I wouldn’t stay more than that
The location is really good though, so if you’re gonna be out all day you might not even care about the fact that bathrooms are not that comfortable and there isn’t too much sunlight coming in.
It’s cheap, and it’s perfectly fine to spend a night or two if that’s what you’re looking for.

4 friends and I stayed in the dorm room option and we absolutely loved this hostel. Less than a 15 minute walk from the bus/train station and also within walking distance of all the major sites in Rome. Reception was very accommodating of us paying separately even though we originally booked together and gave us great tips. A supermarket is just around the corner and the kitchen in Ciak is great so we cooked dinner one night and it was great fun!
