Staff are amazing, extremely helpful and very friendly. They love having people with their pets stay and always make you all feel welcome.

The staff were excellent and very friendly and attentive.

We had our small dog with us and pets are made very welcome with dog blankets and treats.

All in all an excellent place to stay.

Breakfast
I always like to see a choice of fruit juices in the morning. It invariably tells me that the food will be good.

Hotels which only offer orange juice are looking at every single cost and putting it above customer satisfaction. One juice type tells me that they’ll probably be using cheaper quality ingredients for the cooked breakfast.

A hotel a mile or two down the road only offered orange juice. When the cooked breakfast arrived, their hash browns were obviously heated from a packet.

The breakfast here showed every sign of being good quality ingredients and it was very nicely cooked.

The room.
It was a decent size. Not huge, but large enough. There were also two chairs. So many double rooms now only seem to have one chair.

Probably to make the room look bigger and save money. The decor looked relatively fresh and the bathroom was spotless and a good size. My pet hate is a cramped, dirty hotel bathroom.

Especially the ones where the toilet roll holder is coming away from the wall or the shower head has had to be screwed in place to stop it falling down.

The bed was far too soft for my liking but it was comfortable enough.

3. Mercure Sheffield Kenwood Hall & Spa 4* – Dog Friendly Hotels Sheffield

In 12 acres of stunning grounds 1.6 km from Sheffield city centre, this 4-star hotel is within easy reach of the city’s arena and Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

Kenwood Hall has free on-site parking and a well-equipped leisure club, including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath and gym.

The hotel provides spacious rooms, all with classical décor and many with views of the lake and gardens. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

The venue was lovely and it was great to have a walk about the property after a long drive and early in the morning. It really is in a beautiful setting. Loved that our room had a view overlooking pond.

Also great that you allow pets as we travel with our little dog and he even received a few treats on arrival too.

We used the hotel as a base to visit Chatsworth house and would be ideal for a base to visit the Peaks. We noticed it was extremely dog friendly too.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be back if in the area.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, including a small lake. Parking was free and no problems getting a space.

It’s dog-friendly and has a sweet ‘doggie corner’ for arriving pooches, complete with water and treats!

Check-in was friendly and efficient, with hardly any waiting time, though I was there at a quieter time of day.

All staff I met during my time there were upbeat, welcoming and went the extra mile to assist me.

The room was clean and well kitted out as you would expect, and the en-suite shower had powerful hot water! There is a restaurant and tea-room on-site, which seemed popular.
