1. Barcelo Palmeraie 5* – Pet Friendly Hotels Marrakech
This hotel in the Palmeraie district features an outdoor swimming pool and a spa. Free Wi-Fi internet access is provided throughout the property, and Marrakech Airport is 18 km away.
The guest rooms at Barcelo Palmeraie are all en suite. They offer a balcony or a terrace, a minibar and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels.
Breakfast can be ordered daily. Guests have a choice of Moroccan or international cuisine from the hotel’s 3 restaurants, and can dine on the terrace by the pool.
The hotel is spacious and the grounds were immaculate as we went in low season (it was 22 degrees in Dec and perfect) we were able to truly relax.
The staff exceeded our expectations and went out of their way to help.. from the friendly reception staff Reda and Chaimaa to the fantastic restaurant staff we couldn’t remember all their names but Hicham was exceptional as was the older gentleman who looked after us every breakfast.
The highlight was the food! If you can, go for half board as the food is mouthwatering and delicious and you have a vast array of tagines, salads, grills, fresh fish, veggie options and desserts galore – we certainly gained a few pounds.
I also booked in for a deep tissue massage in the on site spa and the facilities and therapist were top notch.
For fitness junkies there is a small gym, tennis courts and spacious grounds to do runs plus a couple of pools.
We also booked two trips which I highly recommend – the Atlas mountains and the souk and Jardins Majorelle excursion.
We booked through the hotel and recommend doing guided trips, as we were taken to some amazing places in the souk that only a local would know.
Our room was perfectly compact and had everything we needed and was meticulously cleaned everyday.

2. Riad Dar One 4* – Pet Friendly Hotels Morocco
The riad is a haven of peace in the heart of the medina, only few steps away from the Bahia place, Rriad Dar One offers a warm and friendly welcome.
Riad Dar One has been renovated with elegance and originality and combines harmoniously, charm of the old riads and modern comfort.
The riad offers comfortable rooms with a simple and functional decoration. A particular care was brought to all the lamps and to the thick curtains.
Upstairs offers many sitting areas for reading and tanning. Then above our room there is another private cabana, one of the best views I’ve seen.
The service is one of the best I have ever experienced. They accommodated us to the max. Also we took our breakfast upstairs and it a beautiful experience.
The hotel also offer cooking classes at their other hotel and I highly recommend it.
The chef took us to the medina to purchase all the ingredients so we experienced purchasing grocery like the Moroccans do. Very fun. Then the hotel driver takes you to the other location to cook the dinner.
The other hotel is a large estate resort. It is pet friendly because there are with resort dogs and ten horses.
The hotel dogs will give you a warm greeting. The rooms are fantastic. Well designed and decorated. Beds are very comfortable.
Riad Dar One is tucked away into one of the many alleyways in the old medina.
To actually find the place the first time, you need to have someone from the riad lead you there (TIP: Book the arrival service with them to pick you up at the airport, it’s impossible to find the riad otherwise on your own).
Dar One is beautifully appointed. A bit chic, a bit hip, but also a bit traditional Marrakech. You can tell that they put a lot of effort and time into outfitting the riad, the place is absolutely stunning and gorgeous inside.
The library/sitting area on the first floor next to the fireplace is really a great place to unwind and sip tea, and -if you are lucky enough- to mingle with Jean’s two dogs who occasionally are there; they are calm and tame and wonderful creatures and they may just keep you company for breakfast!

3. Les Jardins De La Médina 5* – Dog Friendly Hotels Marrakech
Set in Marrakesh’s historical centre and close to Jamaâ El Fna Square this hotel has exotic gardens, an outdoor pool, spa with hammam, steam bath and traditional Moroccan beauty treatments.
Each modern, air-conditioned and soundproofed room at Les Jardins De La Medina features a shared balcony with views over the pool and garden. They are equipped with free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a private bathroom.
Les Jardins’ restaurant and bar has views the gardens and serves a mixture of Mediterranean and Moroccan cuisine, using fresh, local produce.
A 7-minute walk from the Saadian Tombs, this upmarket riad surrounded by gardens is 2 km from shopping in Jemaa el-Fnaa square, and 4 km from the chic Majorelle Garden.
Polished, individually decorated rooms come with minibars, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV; most open onto a shared patio. Upgraded rooms and suites provide fireplaces, rainfall showers and/or private terraces with sun loungers. Room service is offered.
Breakfast is served in a colorful restaurant with a fireplace, and there’s a cozy bar. Additional amenities include a garden with an outdoor pool and a sundeck, plus a spa, a cooking school and a TV lounge.
If you are expecting a fancy hotel with the latest gadgets or design, you may wish to consider other addresses in the Palmeraie or Hivernage. Here however the garden offers a historical oasis in the South of the Medina. If its walls could talk, some guests names would sound familiar. Professional and well trained staff where nothing is too much trouble.
Comfortable and well appointed rooms I recommend you opt for those with a private roof terrace and shower to benefit from the beautiful view over the expansive gardens.
A good restaurant with a high standard of French/Moroccan cuisine, delicious a la carte breakfast served in your choice of the room, or restaurant, a great size swimming pool which beats any Riad plunge pool. We did not try the spa during our stay but there is plenty of choice for weary travellers,
Overall a great choice and oasis of calm in the hectic Medina which I highly recommend.
