Guide to Eco Friendly Hotels in Boston ( 2024 Updated)

An eco hotel, or a green hotel, is an environmentally sustainable hotel or accommodation that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimize its impact on the natural environment and eco friendly hotels Eco Friendly Hotels Boston are considered excellent place to hang out for a couple of nights in Boston and then beyond in US.

1. The Lenox 4* – Eco Friendly Hotels Boston

Each room boasts panoramic views of the Back Bay neighborhood. Flat-screen TVs, a small fridge and plush terry bathrobes are provided. The luxury rooms offer mahogany furniture and crystal lamps.

Hotel Lenox offers personalized concierge services and a 24-hour business center.

In a beaux arts building dating from 1900, this upscale Back Bay hotel is a block from the shops of Newbury Street and a 20-minute walk from Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

The refined rooms feature Italian marble bathrooms and ergonomic work areas, along with Bose sound systems, 55-inch flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Some units offer fireplaces, 4-poster beds and/or views of the Charles River. Suites provide additional living areas.Room service is available 24/7.

There’s an elegant restaurant, a chic bar and an Irish pub.

Boasting a hallmark Back Bay location, The Lenox is a family-owned, boutique hotel that expertly melds its century-old story with modern, luxurious accommodations. Priding itself on personalized, friendly service, The Lenox is situated steps from Newbury Street, Copley Square, Fenway Park, and the Boston Common/Public Gardens – the perfect location for both business travelers and vacationers seeking an exceptional hotel experience.

From the moment we arrived, and every time we came and went, we felt welcome and special. The lobby has nice seating/chatting areas and had a fire going in the evenings. The morning coffee is delicious. The room was so comfortable, fabulous linens and mattresses. The bathroom was cozy, but makes sense in this older building – and I wouldn’t trade all that charm for a double vanity!

And the shower pressure was amazing. Someone noted they wish they had individual toiletries – I love that the Lenox is more eco-friendly with the pump dispensers of shower gel, shampoo & conditioner in the shower. Loved the mini fridge with complimentary bottles of water, plus the filtered water & pitcher for us to drink in the room. The staff truly are one-of-a-kind. Location is perfect. Can’t wait to visit again.

A charming historic hotel, nicely updated and close by great shopping, restaurants and parks. Our corner, 2 queen bed room had a sitting area, fireplace and since big tv. The Eco emphasis was great, for example, with free refills of filtered water. Nice, inviting bar & pub on site – great for when it’s really cold. I will definitely try to stay here on our next trip.

I loved the historic charm, location and also that it was so eco-friendly/green. Great bar downstairs.

Ideally located within easy access to all of the sights, good restaurants and shops, the Lenox has it all. Our room on the 9th Floor overlooked Boylston Street and Exeter Street – it was comfortable and very spacious with great views. The staff were without exception tremendous – consummately professional, warm, friendly, welcoming and helpful, nothing appeared to be too much trouble and they clearly wanted you to enjoy your stay.

What’s more this is a hotel where you immediately feel at home, where you actually feel like a guest therefore rather than someone who is simply passing through. Consistent with this then are the Hotels eco credentials – the mix of paramount customer care and environmental responsibility only add to its attractiveness and draw guests in to active support of this laudable “green” ethos. During our stay we used the City Bar, City Table and Solas – each different but all enjoyable and perfect after a hard day sightseeing and shopping. I also made use of the gym facilities during the course of our stay.

The rooms are luxurious and beautifully appointed with great amenities. Our meeting space (the Dome Room) was perfect for our day-long meeting. The food was beyond incredible – breakfast (cinnamon rolls, scones and doughnuts), lunch (New England Sampler) and hors d’oeuvres for our reception were all delicious. I woke up with a food hangover the next day! And the service was perfection – everything was on point.

Discover world-caliber galleries, fresh retail shops, local attractions, or treat yourself to an artisanal craft cocktail and scrummy entree at our Landing Bistro & Bar, which offers a unique escape from the energy of Provincetown.

We visited in November and were very glad we chose this inn for our getaway. We were intrigued by the eco friendliness and the farm to table restaurant.

The location, just off Commercial Street, close to everything, was a bonus. It was just far away from the street so sleep well but close enough for entertainment. Our room was very comfortable and simply decorated. The bed was comfortable but I don’t think it was a queen – felt like a double bed.

The hotel is charming and cute. Lots of public spaces/lounges/sitting rooms for hanging out.

The breakfast was included. There was coffee and tea and juices, eggs to order, cereals and yogurts and pastries. The only thing I would change is to have fresh pastries – maybe baked locally – to add to the charm and support local economy.

The staff was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful and accommodating. We arrived late and they waited for us. Everyone had a smile on their face. We get very welcome.

. Everything was perfection. From the warm welcome from front desk lady Sewall to our spotless, crisp and comfortable room, we enjoyed every minute. Our bed was incredibly comfortable and we really loved the soft, white linens and double-sheeting. The bathroom was large enough not to feel crowded and the thirsty towels were welcome after a sumptuous hot shower. The Inn is very eco-friendly, we like that, too.

The handsome and spacious Lounge is very nicely decorated with generous cocktails. The eponymous sage green walls, carpet and furniture worked well together and provided a great environment for catching up with friends without feeling crowded.

In the morning, the coffee was robust, perfect for waking you up after a deep and refreshing night’s rest in one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. There was absolutely no noise, although the hotel was full, which we also appreciated.

This is one of our favorite places to stay in town. It has all the amenities, great staff, reasonable rates and ideal location (set back off, but convenient to, Commercial Street but no street noise) which make this a great recommendation and personal refuge!

Located in Boston’s bustling Seaport District with dozens of Boston’s most popular restaurants and attractions within walking distance, the Seaport Hotel offers business and leisure travelers comfortable, convenient guest rooms and a variety of upscale amenities including complimentary wireless Internet access, one of Boston’s most luxurious fitness facilities, an indoor pool, complimentary bicycles and beautiful city and harbor views.
Seaport Hotel is proud to be one of the Boston’s greenest hotels. The hotel is five minutes from Logan Airport by taxi, water taxi and the MBTA and offers weekday shuttle service into downtown Boston. Nearby attractions include the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the Institute for Contemporary Art, the Boston Children’s Museum, Boston’s pedestrian friendly Harborwalk and the Leader Bank Pavilion.
I thought the rooms were great. Lots of small details made it very comfortable. Lots of mirrors and lights in the bathroom and I like they were eco friendly with shampoo and conditioner in big bottles. The breakfast was the best. Lots of traditional items and sweet potatoes, poached eggs, spinach and granola. The location had a T stop and cabs. They even had a service that would deliver a yoga mat with equipment if you wanted. The salmon & forbidden rice was a very nice surprise. It was obvious there was a lot of thought for the little things that made my stay a success.
Friendly, fast check-in. LOVED the fact that gratuities are already included, throughout the hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable including a pillow menu. The hotel has many eco friendly practices. The 5th floor rooftop even hosts bee hives. The Breakfast menu included vegan options…yay! Would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.
While on a business trip our group stayed here and the very fact that the air and water are filtered was great for an eco friendly organic company. So great! More hotels need to do this. The food was excellent and for those who care and our concerned about the “Green/Eco” way of living will like the recycling and limited toiletries as they have shampoo and conditioner bulk dispensers in the showers. There’s a great gym and pool, along with cozy chairs and places to chat all throughout the hotel.
Lastly, my only “compliant” is that the hotel bar closes in my opinion to early at 12am but there are places close by to go to if you still want to stay out.
Overall, a great hotel with great customer service and cozy beds and rooms.
Check-in was quick and almost effortless. Our room was beautiful. It was clean, sun-soaked and overlooking the harbor. It was worth the price. The room was stocked with complimentary waters, warm robes, and coffee. The bathroom was well-appointed as well. Beds were super comfortable. The television offered a wide array of channels and the option to stream content from Netflix, Hulu, etc. The hotel is eco-friendly and pet friendly. And, it is not a gimmick, they follow through without cutting back on the luxury experience.
Also, the location is perfect. It took us about 30 minutes to walk up to the North End where are all the fabulous restaurants and delicious Italian bake shops are located. You will enjoy the walk. There are many art installations and recreational greenery areas. I was very pleased with our stay in Boston and would definitely go back. I would definitely tell my family and friends to stay at the Seaport Boston Hotel.
I stayed Seaport hotel as a conference venue. As a hotel at Boston area, the price was competitive. The furniture and bathroom are new and good, and eco-friendly setting (shampoo and soap dispenser) is proper. They do not accept any tip because it will be charged on the bill later. As a foreigner, I like this policy. If I attend the conference again, I definitely stay here again.

At its epicenter sits Kimpton Nine Zero Hotel, capturing the vitality of Boston’s modern renaissance and taking inspiration from its illustrious history to give rise to something entirely fresh.

Walk outside our doors and you’ll find yourself at the crossroads of three distinct, but equally vibrant neighborhoods: Beacon Hill, Downtown Crossing and the Financial District and steps from Boston Common and the historic Freedom Trail. At Kimpton Nine Zero, the convergence of a storied past and an audacious present makes for an essential experience.
The staff was excellent! Every employee we came in contact with was pleasant and helpful and went the “extra mile” to be of service. We used the hotel parking which gave us a place to leave our car while we used the T which had a station for the Red and Green lines just down the street. We also learned that if you drive a hybrid car you get 25% off your parking bill since they consider themselves to be an eco-friendly hotel. In regard to the room, we opted for a skyline view room, and indeed, we had a lovely view of the Boston skyline overlooking the Common. Our room had a king-sized bed and was a decent size for the two of us.
There is a safe in the room, but no refrigerator or microwave. There is also a cash bar in the room for which you are given the key when you check in should you choose to use it. We used room service one night and were pleased with both with the quality of the food and the portion size, as well as with our server, who was very accommodating.
At 5 PM, complimentary glasses of wine are provided to guests in the lobby, and in the morning free coffee and tea is available as well. They even had soy milk as an alternative to the usual dairy choices. If you are looking for a good, clean, trendy, well-located hotel in Boston, I would definitely stay at the Kimpton Nine Zero.
We appreciated their eco friendly ways & the 20% discount off valet for driving a hybrid! The groom (superior king) was very nice with a super comfy bed, very quiet, and a large bathroom. Would highly recommend and I am going to look for Kimpton properties wherever I stay now!

Nine Zero is a lovely hotel situated within walking distance to so many attractions. It is very close to Downtown Crossing and a short walk to Faneuil Hall. It is crisp, clean and eco-friendly and they also have bicycles to rent if you prefer riding instead of walking.

I love the idea of cocktail hour from 5-6 each day to gather in the lobby and mingle with other guests.

The prices are a bit on the high side but worth it when you experience all they have to offer.
The service was exceptional and the people were very friendly and more than helpful.

I would return when I can stay a bit longer.

First: we LOVE the Kimpton Hotel Group. Not only are their boutique hotels funky, stylish, creative, and elegant – they are inclusive and eco-friendly. They have long been advocates for LGBT rights and causes, and have been on the forefront of ‘greening’ the hotel experience. Add to this impeccable design and an exceptional staff, and the decision of where to stay is an easy one.
The beds were comfy, the shower was good and I liked knowing I was staying at an eco-friendly hotel.
