Rooms were really big and spacious. Bathrooms were huge and luxurious. Everything was sparkling clean.
Farmhouse offered activities such as bicycles, pool, explore their organic gardens, fishery etc. Food was delicious and good variety.
It was wonderful to be able to spend so much time outside away from the city, and it was so easy for all of our kids to go outside and play and be free! The khmer houses are lovely and very clean and well-maintained. Our bathroom had a bit of an ant problem by the sink but we didn’t see any other pest issues anywhere in the house. The porch under the house and in front of the room is fantastic and the perfect place to relax and read a book. We loved the pool and the kids had fun play with the sand in the volleyball court.
The shared bikes were great as well and myself and my two-year-old especially enjoyed the ability to use the ones with the kid’s bike seat. The farm tour was a lovely way to get to know the work of Smiling Gecko. Finally, the food was delicious and you can tell a great amount of care, and high quality ingredients are put into the food – some of the best meals I’ve had in Cambodia!
Innovative and exemplary social project.
The food was delicious with organic products directly sourced in their farm, top-notch service, dedicated team and management. The bungalows are really comfortables surrounded by endless green landscape.
Extra bonus for their stunning swimming pool! Highly recommended.
Love the place. Highly recommended place, if you want to feel how it is like staying in rural Cambodia, and don’t want to drive far, this is a place to be. You will be amazed by the projects that give job and education opportunity to people in the community. The restaurant offers authentic Khmer food.
We stayed at The Farmhouse Smiling Gecko for 2 nights looking for a quiet escape from busy Phnom Penh. We had an absolute fantastic stay in one of their suites. The bathroom is big with a beautiful bathtub and a nice lounge area on the ground where you can relax. We loved spending time at their pool which is surrounded by a beautiful green garden and just enjoyed the tranquility. We also used their Spa three times. It was the best massage I had during my time here in Cambodia. We also used their Yoga Sala for a daily practice in the morning.
They offer complimentary tours with a guide of their entire project. Very informative and make sure not to miss this out. Many thanks to Iris and her team who made our stay very special and for their hospitality. We truly enjoyed and highly recommend this place.

Like a rare butterfly, Cambodia has emerged from a troubled past to show off its beauty. Away from the tourist trail there is another country, a land of unspoilt virgin forest, rare orchids, startling colours and calls of birds of paradise, secretive jungle creatures and a perfumed air of peace and solitude. This ecological miracle deserves an environmentally friendly resort that captures the imagination while offering the luxury of a four-star boutique resort.Peaceful seclusion, privacy, luxury, exclusivity.
The experience was magical, from the moment we got started our 15 min boat trip down the Tatai river where we took our first breath of amazing fresh air until the first site of the tents that were to be our sanctuary for the next few days…it was pure joy!!!
The staff were exceptional. We were celebrating our anniversary while there and the tent side romantic dinner that was organised for us will never be forgotten.
As a very important side issue, this venue and amazing staff are exceptionally environmentally conscious and we learnt very important lessons with regard to the wildlife that inhabit this part of Cambodia and the importance of the sensitive ecosystem/culture that exists and how this enterprise ensures the surrounding locals also understand how to maintain this delicate and important part of the world.
Perched on the bend of the Tatai river you will find this very special eco-friendly haven. I wasn’t too sure what to expect when I booked, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. The customer service is amazing and we were so well looked after from beginning to end. We stayed in one of their on-land two bedroom tents and we were bowled over when we saw inside. Such luxury!!
The rooms are extremely comfortable! Dining at 4 rivers is also a special experience, the food is delicious and the 4 course dinners we were served were something else! We went on two trips, one to the waterfall and one to the mangroves, both were excellent and we got to see a lot of the surrounding area from the boat. The location, tents, food are all amazing, but what really makes this place is the staff. They are exceptional.
. It’s about three to four hours from the capital or Sihanoukville. A boat takes from the Bridge over the Tatai River on NH48 to the Lodge . There’s a lovely and friendly arrival on checkin with a welcome cold drink and briefing of things to do . There’s kayaking , surf boarding , trekking , dawn bird watching and a visit to some local falls . All of these can be organised beforehand .
Picnics are provided and hot food made for you on portable stoves amazingly!
The rooms are amazing ..floating in the river …lavishly comfortable and all very eco considered . The evening food is excellent . The breakfasts delicious . I wish I could give this place six stars.
The staff were fabulous and couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. The food was wonderful and locally sourced. The tents were excellent and waking up to the sounds of the jungle was really relaxing. You can walk out the lodge and straight into the river for a morning swim.
They have worked really hard to be as eco friendly as possible eliminating plastic bottle and making their own bamboo straws. They employ staff from the local village and work to promote this eco friendly ethos and approach across the local community. We had an amazing time and didn’t want to leave.
n. The lush jungle is teeming with life and colour and the peace and tranquility is also a welcome break. As you approach the floating lodge by boat you realise what a unique place this is. The safari style tents blend beautifully with their jungle backdrop and we were given a very warm welcome from the owner. From this point onwards all our needs were catered for and nothing was too much trouble.
The safari tents were beautifully presented and everything you could need was provided. Everything is locally sourced and eco-friendly including refillable bottles for shampoo and shower gel. Plus the biggest difference I believe they are making is employing the locals to help educate how important this jungle is and how to protect it.
This is an eco-lodge and so everyone is very conscious about the environment and rightly so – a stay in such paradise makes one realise even more about protecting our environment. All the soaps provided are eco-friendly. One can swim in the river which is pretty clean, but subject to some tidal movement as the sea is not that far off. The bar is lovely with a good selection of lovely and welcoming drinks and cocktails. I particularly loved the Tatai Sunset (a cocktail)! Food was superb.

There’s an overwater restaurant, plus a beach bar, private dining and an infinity pool. Water sports, diving, yoga and spa treatments can be arranged.
From pick up at our hotel in Phnom Penh in a private car at the beginning, and return to Sihanoukville airport at the end, we were cared for and made to feel like family. It was inspirational to see what the Song Saa Foundation has done for the local community and we were happy to see that our contributions to the resort would go to building sustainable and eco-friendly supports for the area.
Villa – we loved our gorgeous Ocean View Villa, the enclosed outdoor area, pool, daybed and patch of sand were heaven not just for us but also our 3yo. The room is huge and comfortable with a spacious bathroom and living area, all looking out to sea. Sea breeze lulled us all day. The minibar was large and well-stocked.
Food – the meals were lovely we had breakfast in-villa one day, but preferred the amazing views at Vista. Superb coffee! Love how dinner is offered at a different location each night to maximise the unique experiences. If anything, the food was perhaps a bit too pricey for what it was, but there were good options with a larger percentage of ingredients locally-sourced and organic where possible. Also loved the superb and eco-friendly presentation! No plastic straws or water bottles, natural woven pizza boxes and leaf liners!
What a magical, peaceful resort, with friendly, helpful staff, in a delightful setting.
It is a very eco-friendly resort, in an environment which the Foundation is improving all the time. They employ local staff from the nearby islands, which they also use as a supply base, particularly for fresh fish and vegetables, where possible.
The staff are brilliant, doing all they can to help, without any thoughts other than the comfort and needs of the guests.
Song Saa is a dream of a private island with beautifully designed Villas, an ideal island layout, amazing food with a local touch, and extraordinary friendly and professional service.
Most notable ist a deeply rooted focus on sustainability and eco-friendliness, certainly uncommon with such a high level of service. Driftwood and recycled parts of boats and other locally sourced materials give the luxurious villas a touch of local connection and a signature style. The Song Saa foundation supports local villagers and creates great impact helping the nearby villagers and preserving marine life.
Probably the most impressive thing to do is the bioluminescence tour; the team take you out at night and you can snorkel in an underwater world of sparkles and little underwater fireflies, created by phytoplankton typical for the waters around the islands. Don’t miss this amazing experience.
We have seen other wonderful places – but Song Saa with its wonderful family of management and staff stands out and we are definitely looking forward to coming back any time soon.
If you wanna feel, experience and enjoy a complete concept of hospitality, pure beauty, nature, calmness, care, sustainability, conservation and the most touching smiles – than Song Saa is your place. We loved the tranquility, every single smile of the local staff, their attention ti detail and the amazing, eco-luxe designed Villas with stunning views. We stayed in a 2-bedroom Jungle Villa which was simply a dream and the best hide-out we have been stayed it. If you really need to disconnect and detox, this is the place to be – I even would come for a week on my own to totally unwind and calm down.
The resort is a unique combination of delightful design, luxury, tasteful attention to detail, effortless great service, eco-friendliness, and all seamlessly interwoven into the natural beauty of this tropical island. The Song Saa Foundation which is linked to the resort runs sustainable fishing reserves in the surrounding archipelago as well as coral and mangrove conservation. Resort guests can join expeditions and learn about these important activities which is a fascinating way to enjoy and increase appreciation of the beautiful surroundings.
The food is great. They must have an army of world class chefs to produce such an amazing selection of Italian, Chinese, local Cambodian, Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine on different days. We rapidly sank into an unhurried mode after arrival with the pleasant anticipation to enjoy the vast variety of water sports, sailing, diving, spa, yoga and massage. We arrive back at our villa in the evenings to find the lanterns and candles lit and surprised by welcome plates of chocolates, mojitos and poetic messages.

Beside the private pool there’s another big pool next to the main restaurant good for a swimming-exercise in the morning.breakfast is delicious with all what you want you name it they offer it! The Spa is beautiful although we didn’t use it.
From the arrival experience by boat to the first class fitness centre, everything had been carefully thought through to maximize the guest experience with emphasis on wellness, sustainability, and luxurious tranquility.
The pool villas are superb and well laid out, providing maximum privacy but still with ample sea views. The restaurants and bar were great, with ample choice and great tasting food from Chef Todd and his brigade.
For us the highlights included the fitness centre, ocean boardwalk (a must at sunrise) and the spa. Every day we had treatments and were never disappointed. One of the best spa experiences we have ever had.
The view is truly ocean front, private and uninterrupted. The reflection of the sunset on the mirror like villa private pool each evening was a delight.
The highlight was the boardwalk that surrounds most of the small private island – allowing you to enjoy the ecosystem of the island in an unobtrusive way.
The boardwalk also proved to be the romantic highlight of the trip with the chef designing a special menu and setting up 1 table along a candle lit boardwalk that extended over the rocks and sat on the oceans edge at sunset. The pictures speak for themselves. It was an exquisite evening that will never be forgotten.
The second highlight was the Khmer cooking class in the Treehouse restaurant. For a small island resort to offer both waterfront and treetop dining of exceptional quality is truly an investment in the quality of the guest experience.
Six Senses Krabey Island is a bespoke experience of the highest quality. All staff are exceedingly polite, genuinely client focussed and always smiling.
The client-centricity even extended to management offering to arrange an alms blessing in the privacy of our room by local monks on the morning of my partners birthday – a unique, special and touching moment for us both.
Overall, it really can only be summed up as one of the best island resort experiences in Asia. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Great resort with warm and kind hospitality, eco-friendly and lots of green around us, which made our stay so relaxed.
The resort is build like a old khmer village with a beautiful park. U can choose between terrace villas or pool villas. We had an amazing pool villa. Thru many plants around the villa u have about 90% privacy.
The housekeeping works perfect, u never see them but and our villa was always cleaned up when we come back from breakfast or a trip.
The resort has a small fitness room and u also have a nice running track thru the park. Length approx.600m.
Every detail has been carefully thought out here…this newest property to enhance the ever-growing desirability for an exotic travel experience to Cambodia. And nothing disappoints.
After a dusty day climbing temples and hiking hot jungle trails to see some of the world’s most spectacular historic and architectural wonders, you arrive back to your personal oasis, just minutes from the main hustle and bustle of Siem Reap town.
Decompressing here is delicious…a personal plunge pool awaits just beyond the front steps of your private accommodation – a wooden villa raised on stilts inspired by authentic village constructions of the region. Inside the beauty and luxury lies in the simplicity…cool greys washed over reclaimed wood and distressed furniture, jute rugs, minimal appointments set in a large, spacious cottage that you are reluctant to leave even as the greatest temples in the world are calling you beyond.
We learned that local craftsmen and women are employed to create the woodwork, the baskets, the simple yet beautiful decor of this property. We loved this aspect of what became clear was a total eco-oriented project here – the marvelous Phum Baitang.
The restaurant offers very good high quality food. We tried breakfast/lunch/dinner. All was very very good.
Congratulations to the management for their staff. All of them are amazing. From gardener, driver, reception, waiter,…a big compliment!
I can recommend this resort for all people who enjoy a calm staying in natural, luxury, and eco hotel.
A luxury resort sprawling over acres of padi and lemongrass fields – a real taste of serenity in an eco environment. The staff are so attentive and helpful, the villas are immaculate and the infinity pool is the perfect place to relax.
