1. TUI BLUE Sylt 4* – Eco Friendly Hotels Germany

TUI BLUE Sylt
TUI BLUE Sylt

This family-friendly holiday apartment complex offers individually designed, self-catering apartments on Sylt. There are 2 restaurants, a bar and a large spa area including a large indoor pool.

All apartments at the 4-star Superior Dorfhotel Sylt feature a terrace or balcony and a fully equipped kitchenette. Some offer wonderful views of the tideland and sea. Free WiFi is available in all areas.

Children of all ages will enjoy the various clubs and organised events on offer.

Relax in the spa area, where you will find a pool, saunas, a steam bath and a Kneipp pool. Work out in the gym, or book yourself cosmetic treatments and massages.

Set 5.1 km from Sylt Aquarium, this casual eco-hotel is also 9.6 km from Romanesque St. Severin church.

Tranquil 1- to 3-bedroom apartments come with fully equipped kitchens, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels. They also include sitting areas, and balconies or patios. Room service is offered.

The property has an indoor pool, an outdoor saltwater pool and a children’s pool, plus a spa area with saunas and bookable treatments. Additional amenities include a fitness center, bike rentals, a salon and a kids’ club, as well as a restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace. The hotel adheres to green practices and is carbon-neutral.

The northernmost island of Germany can be reached by plane or by car train. Beach chairs and the northern German kitchen make the experience special. However, to live on Sylt you need a stable income, because everything is a bit more expensive than on the mainland.

The “Dorfhotel Sylt” which means village hotel is a good place to stay for holidays either with the family or alone, as it is not a normal hotel. Small but modern houses form a kind of village, from which the name is derived. In addition to a great restaurant, there is plenty of time for wellness and relaxation in the spa. Children are more than welcome and in good hands in the kids club.

The hotel is situated on the thinnest stretch of the island . Very close ( 3 minutes walk to the wonderful Rantum beach – 1 minute walk to the Rantum Becken . Great for all sorts of activities , cycling , walking , kite -surfing etc.
The Kat 2 apartment we had was very spacious and clean, would easily fit 6 people in there. It has a little kitchen , two seperate toilets and one shower. You can use all of the hotels amenities ( like restaurants , indoor swimming pool , fitness center, spa, bicycles and more  or none of it, a concept I like , because it gives you maximum freedom . This place is great for families with kids of all ages.
The hotel is very suitable for parents with kids as there are lot of activities for the little ones. The rooms are very practical and clean. The large indoor pool is nice and offers an alternative if the weather is cold. To the beautiful beach with perfect sand it is only a 10min walk. The service is good and friendly.
I booked an apartment with a small kitchen/living/dining room in one space, a separate toilet, bath with a shower and a double bed room. The kitchen has everything needed (water kettle, coffee machine, oven, dishwasher and fridge).
So you can be independent and cook yourself if you need. I booked also spa treatments (close by and reachable in 2 min). The hot stone massage was great and relaxing. In 5-10 min you are at the beach and can walk a long time on your own. Really great area. Not as busy as Westerland but by bike or bus (or car) it’s quickly reachable as well.

Ecological thinking and inclusion life Freiburg experience first handGreen City Hotel Vauban. Our 48 double rooms and family suites are modernly designed and furnished with lots of wood from the region. Situated on the ” gateway ” to the ecological model district Vauban , our hotel adds with a facade of naturally green wood slats perfectly into the cityscape.

The rooms were very functional, straight lines, lots of wood, and despite being over 31C outside it was well tempered inside (“passively” climatized building). Did not take advantage of breakfast, and no coffee in room. Bakery right outside, grocery store, pharmacy and bank across the street, lots of students and then there is Freiburg, clearly the best German city. Overall a very good value.

This hotel is quite nice and stands out in the crowd. It is located in an area that has a lot of student housing and there is no on street parking. The hotel does have an area in front for bag drop off though it was not initially apparent- I had to go in and ask at the front desk.

I enjoyed the hip, boutique appearance of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The check in process was otherwise straightforward. There is no on site parking, but the hotel has an arrangement with a parking garage across the street below a grocery store. Be aware that the garage isn’t open 24 hours. When we checked out, my husband had to find the entrance behind the building to get in.

We reserved the suite for myself, husband and mother. There were two well-placed rooms and an outdoor balcony. I loved the windows! You could open all the windows and get a pleasant cross breeze. The common sitting area was very pleasant. Our room looked down on the street.

We were able to get around quite easily on the metro; the station platform was a few steps away from the front door right across the street.

The hotel doesn’t have an onsite restaurant. We were given the name of a restaurant nearby and brought our food to the hotel to eat.

We had a room with a balcony that had chairs and a table where you could sit and enjoy the sunshine. The bed was very comfortable. The decor is very modern with clean lines and no frills – which I liked. The WiFi was limited – we could not do some of the work we planned to do. The lobby is very spacious and feels like a spa.

We did not eat breakfast, but the offerings looked good – mueslis, cheeses, meats, breads, fruits. The staff were very nice and most spoke English, but even the one I spoke to with my limited German was able to understand. I really like the inclusiveness here. The front desk were very helpful when I needed to print a bus ticket. Parking is across the road and is discounted.

3. The Mandala Hotel 5* – Eco Friendly Hotels Berlin

Mandala Hotel’s non-smoking rooms and suites offer views of the courtyard or the modern buildings at Potsdamer Platz. They are all located on the quiet upper floors of the building and feature a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and luxury linen and bedding.

The modern ONO wellness area includes a fitness lounge. Massages and beauty treatments are also available.

This luxurious city-center hotel is steps from the Potsdamer Platz S/U-Bahn station and 2.6 km from the Pergamon Museum.

The high-end rooms, some with courtyard or city views, provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and walk-in closets. They also include minibars and kitchenettes. Suites add sitting areas; upgraded suites feature separate dining areas and floor-to-ceiling windows. Room service is available.

The property has a chic lounge bar, as well as a refined restaurant with courtyard views. There’s also a 24-hour fitness center and a rooftop spa.

Welcome to the only privately managed 5 Star superior hotel in the heart of the city. In the centre of the city only a few walking minutes away from famous sights like the Brandenburg Gate or Reichstag, situated at Potsdamer Platz, this design hotel provides harmonic experiences for the senses. It features the most spacious rooms in Berlin, the 2 Michelin star restaurant FACIL, premium ONO Spa as well as the QIU Restaurant & Bar and modern meeting rooms.
All 159 studios and suites are equipped with highest quality materials and offer a perfect home away from home combined with individual service. A stay at THE MANDALA HOTEL offers numerous harmonic experiences for the senses to provide you with the energy you need during your Berlin stay.
I loved everything about this hotel, from the terrific service, the excellent location in the city, the magnificently designed and spacious rooms, the fabulous pillows and duvet, the beautifully displayed (and tasting) breakfast and the very reasonable price. The concierge was most helpful, everyone delightful and I was very taken by the beautiful design throughout the hotel – unusual flowers, wall coverings, vases and combinations. I truly loved our stay (4 nights) at The Mandala.
This beautifully designed hotel was the perfect respite from our days of sightseeing in Berlin. The breakfast buffet in their floor-to-ceiling restaurant surrounded by bamboo and beautiful fountains was exquisite. It’s as beautiful as the Axel Vervoort-designed Garden restaurant at the Bayericher Hof but without the haughty attitude. I’ve traveled to many large cities internationally and this place is a gem, and a great value.
The Mandala is situated in a very convenient location – all forms of transport are available within very close proximity. The breakfast is lovely and you can ask for hot items to be prepared for you (this was not initially told to us on the first day).
Their restaurant Facil has 2 michelin stars. The food was excellent; yet it was relaxed and welcoming. The hotel is contemporary and the rooms are laid out with an enclosed walk in closet area which I liked. The bathroom was roomy, clean, well lit yet was not of the latest design. There is no desk in the room so doing work is not convenient.

he staff understands its guests and makes a lot of effort to ensure everyone is cared for and feels cared for.

I stay in an executive suite with a view of Potsdamer Platz and it ticks all the boxes on my wishlist. Quiet within the hotel but having that wonderful sense of energy from the street outside, without it being noisy at all.

The suite is light and spacious with all the kitchen facilities you need to feel as if you are coming home each day.

The bed and pillows are wonderfully comfortable.

The gym is reasonably well-equipped and being able to open the large windows ensure you don’t get overheated.

The location of the hotel is perfect – minutes from Potsdamer Platz, you are close to a central transport hub and some great shopping – and wandering around – opportunities.

The location is amazing so close to everything and centrally located to a lot of different sights. The room was quite spacious and the decor was nice & modern. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it was delicious and the service was excellent. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again next time we are in Berlin!

Enjoy the comfort of our rooms and apartments, before strolling around the nearby Glockenbachviertel, paying a visit to the historic center and seeing the city’s most famous sights. Eat at Tian, our outstanding restaurant, and treat yourself to a drink at our bar. Take it easy.

All in all I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. You can’t beat the location, right in the centre of the old town, across the road Viktualienmarkt with all its great food and drink stalls, and a short walk from all the main sights. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and were able to assist with guiding me with some travel queries I had for the area. The breakfast buffet was cute with a great selection of both traditional German and contemporary breakfast delights and providing a pleasant vibe.

I’d say the rooms are a bit on the basic side, and not quite up to scratch for the price you pay for the hotel – this is the main flaw of this hotel. Otherwise the room was clean and satisfactory, just not in line with the cost. I would stay here again due to its location and the general feel of the hotel.

A nice hotel in the center of Munich near market and main sights. The room was very stylish, comfortable, clean and with many amenities.

The location is very good and my room on the fourth floor was very good with a floor to ceiling window front it also was nice and bright in day time. The bed was very good and I slept very well. There is a complementary mini bar (two beer and two water) which however could do with some soft drinks instead of beer. Bathroom was big enough to feel comfortable and toiletries were in big bottles which I thought was good.

Breakfast was very good the usual selection of breakfast food and in addition to that there were the typical Munich sausage (“Weisswurst) on offer which I enjoyed a lot. One could order eggs any style and coffee was made fresh for every guest.

Staff were very friendly and helpful both at reception and in the breakfast room.
Wifi was free and worked fine, the only thing was that you have log in every time.

Definitely will be back next time when in Munich.

Nestled in the heart of the Bavarian Alps, you will find the Berghotel Rehlegg. Enjoy sparkling clear creeks, airy heights and enchanted forests. An intimate atmosphere and refined hospitality helps to distinguish the Rehlegg. Relax in our wellness area or let us pamper you at the WatzmannSpa.
Or just take in the breathtaking panoramic view that our indoor pool provides.Should you feel the urge for some culture, Salzburg with all its cultural events is just half an hours drive away.

The location. The village setting in Ramsau has no equal. It will blow your mind.

The spa/sauna facilities. I challenge you to find as comprehensive, well built/maintained as as beautiful a series of saunas in a hotel of similar size. The indoor pool is exquisite and perfectly clean. The massage area is divine.

The food. Buffet was wonderful with heavy emphasis on local food.

The outdoor pool and sauna. Walk into the textile sauna outside (meaning you wear a bathing suit-the indoor saunas are textile-frei) and find one of the best views of any sauna in the world I bet.

The ice cream freezer near the outdoor pool. Ben & Jerry’s!

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and the hospitality was top notch throughout.
Our room was spacious and well equipped and the balcony overlooking the mountains a wonderful addition.

The hotel provides breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner so after our 3 night stay we felt well fed – the food was delicious so it was impossible to turn down any of it!
Last but not least, a mention for the spa facilities – a range of sauna, a steam room and both indoor and outdoor pools – which were well maintained and provided more than enough opportunity to relax.

There are two pools – indoor and out and a spa and the decor throughout is modern, fresh and reflects the alpine flavour of the surroundings. Our room was spacious and had all mod cons – lovely bathroom with quality toiletries, minibar and TV. Food was good too – hearty and plentiful and we were well catered for as vegetarians at every meal.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout and we also loved the afternoon snack buffet – very nice touch.

The room was spacious with an amazing bathroom which included separate toilet and shower rooms within the room with a large bath. The room had a separate lounge area which opened onto a large balcony with spectacular views over the valley and mountains.
It was very hot during our stay so did not use the spa facilities but instead the lovely outdoor pool.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to have most meals on the terrace which again had great views. Breakfast provided a great selection of quality food. The evening buffet had an emphasis on meat so vegetarians may struggle a little. A bonus were the lunch and afternoon tea snacks which were appreciated after long hikes.

To get the most from the hotel as a base for visiting local site/hikes a car is essential.
