1. Eden House 3* – Eco Friendly Hotels Key West

Eden House
Eden House

Locally owned and operated since 1975, this art deco hotel offers relaxing amenities and first-rate services in the center of Old Town Key West, within walking distance of Duval Street.

The Eden House is a completely non-smoking hotel that is surrounded by a lush, tropical setting. Guests can go for a swim in the heated pool, relax in a hammock or soak up the Florida sun on the elevated sundeck. The helpful concierge service can arrange a variety of activities or guests can explore with a hired bicycle.

Guests can dine in the Eden House’s Garden Cafe as well as enjoy the complimentary Happy Hour from 16:00 until 17:00 every day. Coffee and tea is also available 24 hours a day in the lobby.

This relaxed, art deco-style guesthouse in historic Old Town dates from 1924, and is a mile from The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, and a 9-minute walk from Duval Street’s restaurants and bars.

Decorated in soft hues, the main guesthouse offers both rooms with en suite bathrooms and rooms with shared facilities. Some provide private porches, and all have free Wi-Fi. Some rooms include flat-screen TVs, microwaves and mini fridges. There are also several restored conch houses on the property with rental units, and some have full kitchens.

There’s a daily complimentary happy hour. Additional amenities include a heated outdoor pool and a hot tub.

Relax In Old Town Key West! The Eden House’s first priority has been to maintain a clean inn, offer a comfortable bed, reasonable rates and have a staff that cares. Next comes the heated pool and Jacuzzi, hammocks, porch swings, waterfalls, sundeck, free off-street parking, café and lush gardens. We will have a cold drink for you at check-in and our daily complimentary ‘happy hour’ is poolside. Then at 10 PM we will dim the lights and let you get a good night’s rest.
Our night staff will not put a mint on your pillow but they will walk the grounds to insure that you won’t be disturbed. I have owned and managed the Eden House for 27 years. I like to think that my staff and me do the ‘little’ things that will make your stay in Key West a memorable one. Key West is notorious for its nightlife. Whether it is a sunset sail, a snorkel or kayak trip or deep water and flats fishing, the waters of the Florida Keys are like no other.
Just let us know when you want to go.Grab a good book and a drink and I’ll see you in the hammock area.
We loved the location ( we walked everywhere), the pool and atmosphere is great and the restaurant associated with it was delicious. We also appreciate this facility is class=”_3f5ztoLj”>Eco friendly.

The cost of staying the night on key West is pretty high but we absolutely loved this little gem. Tucked on a quiet side street only a 2 minute walk from a coffee shop and 5 minute walk from the nearest resistant this place was amazing.

The hotel has a really relaxed atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. We were allocated a roo by the poolside which was very relaxing. The room had everything you may need for a stay. The room didn’t have a TV or kettle but this was just what we were searching for.

They had suncream, yoga mats, fruit and water which were all free and layed out near reception so there was no need to feel embarrassed to ask for any.

The staff were friendly and were able to recommend nice places to eat and drink

We got engaged at the top of key West lighthouse which is a must see and the staff were so congratulatory on our return!

They do a rewards scheme that you can gain points for skipping housekeeping or just staying there which is amazing. They are so eco friendly and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxed place to stay whilst on their trip.

Eden House is very well situated downtown, within walking distance (approximately 10-15 mins) from the downtown core, yet far enough from the noise of nightly festivities on Duval Street and Mallory Square. The meandering corridors of the hotel reveal the charm of the old south, with ceiling fans, beautiful gardens, hammocks for use by patrons, and decks where one can find chairs and tables to provide privacy for conversations, read a book or simply enjoy the view.
There is a focus on eco-friendliness, reflected in the quality of room air conditioners, availability of in-room personal products to foster sustainability. The cleanliness of the room is stellar, as upon return to our room each evening after a day of sightseeing or simply enjoying the beauty of Key West, our room was spotless. (Thank you, Patrick). Though not spacious, they are functional and lovely. Coffee, tea, iced tea and water are available to patrons in the foyer. There is an ease and sense of community when staying at Eden House.
By far the best hospitality and hotel I have ever stayed at in Key West in terms of the staff, atmosphere, and entire vibe of the whole place. From beautiful and eco friendly rooms, amazing staff, great bar, beautiful pool, sundeck, sauna, and hammock area, everything was perfect.
The staff are extremely fun and helpful and the happy hour at the Tiki Bar with Q (Quinton) was our absolutely favorite. You can rent bikes right from the lobby for your stay, bring food and drinks to your room that you can drink out at the pool, grill dinner in the back and eat it poolside, lounge on the upper pool deck for a relaxing day, or hang at the tiki bar. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable, atmosphere was quiet in the rooms, and the pool area was always a great time with good music and lots of people to meet and interact with day & night. Will definitely be back!!

Just WOW! What a wonderful 5-night stay we had at the Parrot Key Hotel last week! We had a friendly welcome from the valet who immediately gave us cold water bottles and then Crystal who gave us sangria upon check-in. We had paid for a 1BR suite and received an upgrade to a 2BR suite. It was a LOT of space for just the 2 of us, but we loved it.

Our living room overlooked a lush forest of tropical trees and plants in the courtyard. The bedrooms on the other side of our suite overlooked a green canal/mangrove area and bay that adjoins the Gulf of Mexico. Both balconies had comfy Adirondack-style chairs to relax in. You will see your neighbors on the balconies, but it was low season so the resort was not full and it felt very private.

The king bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. The bathrooms were well-equipped and spacious with plush robes provided. The master bath had both a shower and separate soaking tub.

The toiletries are large pump bottles of what you need – very eco-friendly compared to all those little plastic bottles that some hotels just toss after one use. The kitchen had a mini fridge, small sink, a separate (paid) mini bar and a microwave. This allowed us to keep our own snacks and drinks in the room so we didn’t always have to pay for refreshments by the pool.

Speaking of the pools – amazing! There are 4 of them on the property (3 are rather small, but just enough space) and each one feels intimate. One is an adults-only/quiet area. On the far side from that is the more active one that has the bar/grill so there is a comfortable option for everyone. Relaxing music is on at the pools from 10:00-10:00.

Highlight: every seat has a buzzer with 3 buttons on it – one to call the server to bring you food/drink, one to reorder another round of your last drink order, and one to bring you your check. It was VERY easy to get spoiled by that feature! Food and drinks were very good, but resort prices

Ask for a room on the canal or bay side of the property as it will be quieter and a better view than the other sides.

It’s cute, CLEAN, eco friendly, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. I could go on and on. We haven’t even left yet and are already planning our next stay. Even the morning breakfast is superb. A generous spread of fruit, homemade bagels, coffee, muffins (try the lemon poppyseed) and a lovely man making omelets by the pool.

Excellent place to spend a vacation with the family. Staff was very friendly, all family members enjoyed great hot breakfast and freshly cut fruits, We are very impressed with the Rooms and cleaned property. Very close to downtown and all other attractions. The hotel also had a great pool area! I was particularly impressed with the eco friendliness of the environment and rooms. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

First time at Silver Palms and I encourage you to stay at this eco-friendly hidden gem in Key West right on Truman Street. From beginning to end, the experience was exemplary–welcoming and accommodating front desk staff, housekeeping and maintenance staff!

Breakfast offerings were varied and delicious with a weekend omelette bar. The pool area and grounds are very clean; ample free undercover parking; and while we didn’t need them, very reasonable daily bike rentals are available. A comfortable 10-minute walk to Duval Street where you can pick up the Conch Train.

CLEAN, comfortable, spacious, eco-friendly rooms! We have stayed here twice and would not hesitate to stay again on our next trip. The beds are very comfortable and the room was cool and inviting! The staff is very friendly and accommodating! The hotel is easy walking distance from Duval Street, other attractions, and is also an easy inexpensive cab ride to other island points of interest.

Room was beautiful and eco-friendly. Bed was big and comfy and pillows good. Pool are was very nice with a waterfalls. Breakfast was ok. Bagels and some protein. Excellent location, close enough to Duval street to walk but not near the noise.

This hotel is very clean, comfortable and extremely eco-friendly! We stayed only one night but had a great experience. It was especially nice to stay at a hotel in Key West that offered free parking. It is in easy walking distance to the Southernmost tip but is about a mile from Old Town and the docks. Silver Palms is so eco-friendly that you need to use your room key to turn on the lights. The free water and fresh lemonade in the lobby all day was also a nice bonus. The staff is very friendly and helped us find a place to eat lunch just after arriving. We would definitely stay at the Silver Palms Inn again.
