Amenities include a lively global eatery, a stylish cafe/bar, and a posh Asian restaurant next to a trendy poolside bar on a rooftop terrace. There’s also a luxe spa, a gym and an indoor pool.
hotel is intimate and comfortable, yet luxurious and cosmopolitan, whilst offering a unique experience of genuine hospitality. The Palace is European elegance in the heart of urban Sliema. The Palace is supplemented by six unique individually designed and decorated suites.
The room was clean and very comfortable. The bath/shower was in need of a face lift, however, the rest of the bathroom provided for most of our needs and was very clean. If you wished you could have your linen and towels changed on a daily basis. So the option was yours to be eco.
Within five minutes from the hotel you are able to pickup public transport to all the attraction. Buses are very reasonable, you can get a one, five or seven day pass and can travel all round Malta, including GOZO. However, if you don’t want to bother with picking local transport, which works quite well, the hotel staff will help you find the best way to see the country(and you can see the whole country from this location). Five minutes from the hotel you are able to find coffee shops, takeaways and restaurants offering great food. The hotel also offer wonderful food and the breakfast is of a very good standard. It has a lovely rooftop swimming and they offer other services such as massages at reasonable prices.
Food
We used the breakfast buffet, the Asian restaurant, and the rooftop terrace restaurant. We found the breakfast buffet to have good variety, but being a Brit, we found the bacon and sausages to leave a lot to be desired. The layout was good in terms of abiding by social distancing regulations. The Asian restaurant was okay, quite pricey for what it was but the food was good.
The rooftop terrace was an incredible setting but we found the food poor. They did have a deal on with a 3 course meal and unlimited beer and wine for 3 hours for €20 which is incredible value, however the pizza was one of the worst we have ever eaten in our lives. However the unlimited drinks definitely made the €20 worth it. The second time we dined we had pasta, which again, wasn’t great however we made up for it with plenty of wine and beer.
Room
We stayed in a superior room on the 5th floor with a room facing the bay. The view was okay. Amenities were excellent with a bath, safe and mini fridge. The air conditioning was okay. You do have to put up with church bells ringing from early hours however this is standard across the whole island and after the first few days you get used to it.
We only had the cleaners come in a couple of times but their attention to detail was really impressive, even going as far to replacing the hotels toilet rolls on the holder with ones that we had bought and left on the side. (Side note, the toilet rolls really were poor, for a 5* hotel I expected better than 1 ply). Bedding was comfortable and the TV was large although channels limited but what can you expect.
There is no uber on the island but we found bolt to be a really good alternative with good prices to and from the airport and St George’s bay. There are also Bolt electric scooters dotted around the island that can be a cheap and extremely fun alternative. We used the scooters on multiple days to travel to St George’s bay which I should add is the only sandy beach in the area.

Parking and a shuttle to the city centre are free. Other amenities include 3 restaurants, 3 bars and a tea lounge, plus indoor and outdoor pools. There’s a private beach, a gym, a spa and a private marina. Breakfast is extra.
We had a side sea view room which was lovely; very spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee, complimentary water daily, tv, hairdryer etc. Balconies are not private as this would obscure the view although we didn’t have neighbours after day one.
Breakfast was served from 6.30 – 10.30 and was a comprehensive selection of hot/cold, continental and English. The staff in this hotel cannot do enough for you and are always polite and helpful. Bar hours were reduced but increased across the week as the number of guests increased and lockdown rules relaxed. Views of the sea and harbour from breakfast and the bar were just stunning.
This hotel has a health club with gym and indoor pool. We only took advantage of the private beach area which was just lovely. The sea is the most blue I have ever seen and the water warm. Reduced numbers in the hotel probably meant for a more relaxed poolside experience. Staff were on hand to take bar orders throughout the day.
Staff were all friendly and courteous and level of housekeeping was super.
The hotel is traditionally decorated with very heavy carved wooden furniture throughout. The main buffet restaurant has been themed with items from the Far East, again traditional and heavy carved wood, so you do feel the hotel is a little dated by the interior furniture and fittings, but the views and location more than make up for it.
Breakfast is served in this restaurant on the 4th floor. Again the views out over the harbour are spectacular. Probably one of the best dining views I’ve had at breakfast. A large buffet selection of all sorts of foods is available.

Chic rooms with bold design offer flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and iPod docks, as well as minibars, and tea and coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms and suites add balconies or terraces. Family rooms sleep up to 3 people.
Breakfast and parking are complimentary. Other amenities include a colorful restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a seasonal rooftop pool with a sundeck and a bar.
We only stayed in Hotel Valentina for three nights, however we had an excellent experience and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again if we were in the area.
The staff were almost without exception polite, friendly and helpful (a shout-out especially to the bar staff who were brilliant). We were given a welcome drink on arrival and there is a bar both on the ground floor and by the rooftop pool.
The room was well appointed and comfortable. We had a street view on the third floor and whilst there wasn’t anything particularly exciting to look at it was better than an internal view. The street noise was never really a problem although there is a bar across the street that stays open pretty late – however this is quite a party area so that’s to be expected!
Whilst we didn’t have a stocked mini-bar (didn’t even know that might be a thing until I saw it mentioned on here) we arrived on Easter Sunday and there was a bag of Easter Eggs on our bed which was a really nice touch.
The hotel is also eco-conscious so has advice on reducing your water-usage (I didn’t know this, but with no rivers, Malta is one of the 10 driest countries in the world, so this is a real problem for them).
As others have mentioned, there’s a huge spread of quality items for breakfast, including cooked items and cakes (!). All in all I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hotel Valentina and somewhere to stay.
The stuff is friendly, the food is great and the rooms are very very comfy. Is very well located too.

Upgraded rooms feature balconies with garden views. Suites add living areas and whirlpool baths, plus terraces with panoramic views.
Breakfast is complimentary. Other amenities include a restaurant and a bar, plus shops. Parking is available.
The service is very good. Breakfast is great. Free parking in public lot behind hotel is nice. Very convenient to have a nice, big grocery store in the building. We recommend this hotel.
They bill themselves as a green, or eco, hotel so it would be nice if there were recycling containers in the rooms.
This hotel absolutely lives up to the high rating on Trip Advisor.
From the moment you arrive you are warmly welcomed and feel they have made every effort to be fully Covid secure and compliant.
We were upgraded on arrival to Room 509 which is a suite with a jacuzzi and wrap around terrace with almost 360o views of the surrounding countryside. The bed is truly king size and extremely comfortable.
As for breakfast , it was delicious and the management had worked out a menu card on which you could choose your breakfast. The choice was huge and everything was fresh and tasty.
I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return next time we visit Victoria.
The Boutique Hotel is perfectly located in the capital city Victoria, home of the Cittadella. Standing just besides Villa Rundle Gardens and overlying one of Gozo’s main shopping centres this luxuriously finished hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Finished to impeccable high standards we stayed in one of the terrace rooms with our private jacuzzi tub. Attention to the finest detail is evident throughout the hotel.
The hotel directors Sharon and Jason together with all their staff are courteous and helpful and their attention to safety and cleanliness through the current pandemic circumstances makes you feel at ease throughout the hotel and during their mouth watering breakfast. We will certainly be back again and again.
. The room, a junior suite with a breathtaking view of the Citadel from our large terrace, was all one could ask for. It was impeccably clean and spacious. Upon entering we noticed a bottle of champagne, two glasses and a little welcome back note since this was our second visit in less than a month – such a sweet gesture, we thought!
The staff are simply wonderful, always with a smile on their face and willing to help in any way. Breakfast was amazing. This was a buffet with a difference, as first you order what you want by ticking from a menu – and then all is serve at just the right pace. You can still order extra if you’re still hungry or feel like more.
The whole experience is hassle-free from the minute you check in until it’s time to leave. The directors are truly hands-on in the daily running of the hotel, with their presence very much felt throughout the entire day.
Keep up your excellent service!

The room given was not sea facing but faces the car park.
Room was huge, clean & has a full kitchen with all necessary kitchenware. Room is serviced everyday. Laundry facility is shared and coin operated. Hotel has a well stocked mini mart.
We were allowed to check in early and check out late without additional costs which is much appreciated.
There’s no need to pay utility / wifi fee like in some resorts in Europe. There’s only an ECO tax of €0.50 per person per day.
The Resort itself is warm and cosy – and impossibly clean, as always. We sampled fabulous cakes at Mokka café; the resort has restaurant options on site, of course and also a convenience store should one fancy cocooning in their well appointed luxury suites with fully equipped chef’s kitchen.
Our Heaven Collection suite lived up to its name. Boasting a to die for view of the rugged hills (green in winter) and the superb beach below, our apartment suite was spacious, warm and super comfortable. Well designed and spacious with a sumptuous bathroom and plenty of storage, plus, of course, a super comfortable bed. This perfection was surpassed by the penthouse suite on level 10 Twilight Tower on a subsequent visit. You must put this on your ‘bucket list’, absolutely!
Breakfast is well sorted; either as an a’ la carte option (given the times) served to you by the chef, or the usual (hygienic, sealed and safe) buffet on the weekends. Attentive staff who bend over backwards to make sure you have everything you might desire – with a smile.
I love this hotel. It’s amazingly positioned towards the North of Malta between lush countryside & turquoise sea boasting beautiful views and sunsets. For me it rates among the top 5 hotels of the Maltese islands. It’s equipped with all amenities that a 5-star hotel should possess. The service in general is of high quality, very professional & of good value for money.
There are incredible pool areas (indoor, outdoor & adults-only), 7 on-site dining & beverage areas, wellness spa & fitness centre, business centre, ball room, mini market, room service & a private sandy beach area among others. As a local Maltese, I look forward to another experience in this hotel in the near future!
he Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands resort, admittedly has an unfair advantage, perched as it is over one of Malta’s most gorgeous and unspoilt beaches – Golden Sands – which is where the landing scene of the Brad Pitt epic “Troy” was filmed, complemented by exceptionally beautiful rugged coastline including two of a number of watch towers perched on the cliff’s edge, built by the Knights of Malta 400 years ago to watch seaward approaches and raise the alarm in the event of an imminent threat.
If it’s peace and regeneration you’re after, then make sure to pay for a sea view because the sight from your balcony, from early morning’s first light through to the glorious red and purple sunsets, you will not believe your eyes.
The Radisson itself? Luxurious. Impossibly clean and sparkling throughout. Staff who is professional, attentive and there to anticipate your every need without ever hovering. Our Zenith Collection One Bedroom Sea View Suite was spacious and comfortable, fitted with everything we could possibly want and again, cleaner than clean.
The aforementioned sandy beach is glorious. There is a hotel private area – wading, swimming, water sports …. whatever you like. As regards the pools, these are some of the largest we have experienced anywhere. Clean. Excellent space around the pools. Comfortable quality beds.
The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands resort also boasts a health/beauty spa. Recommended!!
