Panama Eco Lodge
An eco hotel, or a green hotel, is an environmentally sustainable hotel or accommodation that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimize its impact on the natural environment and eco friendly hotels Panama are considered excellent place to hang out for a couple of nights in Panama City and then beyond in Panama.
Sustainability in Panama at present falls mostly within the realm of business (hotels and eco-tourism projects), agriculture, and protected outdoor areas. The country has moved towards greater environmental protection over the past fifty years, and today some 25 percent of Panama’s total area is protected

This lodge is far away from anything so be prepared to bring a book or your computer to keep occupied but if like us, you came to decompress from an insane year, it’s totally worth your time.
The lodge is remote but the view is amazing and it’s so peaceful. I spent hours swinging in the hammock looking at the trees and birds…while waiting for someone to arrive.
We got there a few hours early (not recommended) and were lucky enough to be let in by a worker to enjoy the restaurant area while we waited.
We stayed in the junior suite and it’s very comfortable.
The bed is great, the fans keep the room cool and the bathroom is comfortable, although I couldn’t really get the hot water to work but that was fine.
There is Netflix and wifi and there are people who can make food and coffee for you. The dinner was okay and a little pricey but the breakfast was so delicious and fresh,
I would come back if we were ever in Panama again – just for the view!
he house is a beautiful, back to nature haven with a good splatter of luxury!
We stayed in the Deluxe suite which has been beautifully decorated, the furniture is of the best quality and the private jacuzzi on the flower laden private terrace is a real treat!
The views are stunning, there is plenty of tropical wildlife to be seen, we even saw a pair of Toucans!
The communal areas are perfect to laze around and rejuvenate after a busy week in the city!
The staff were were very nice and welcoming. The food they served was also very good.
The owner and manageress have done a fantastic job showing great customer care.
I would highly recommend La Semilla Ecolodge.

We understand how it feels when your search for a luxury island vacation turns up uninspiring. You want the best resort in Panama.
A truly untouched tropical island experience. An undiscovered, faraway place that will energize you, refresh you, and send you back home anew.
Well, Traveler. You found us. This is the heart of Isla Palenque. Our 400-acre, private, tropical island resort in the Gulf of Chiriqui, Panama in Central America.
Rich in primary forest, 7 secluded beaches and a sacred history of archaeological significance.
Isla Palenque resort is right out of a page of your favorite, fantasy island novel.
Upmarket all-inclusive resort on a secluded peninsula with 7 beaches, plus infinity pools & kayaks.
The resort still had the awesome Benny overseeing the restaurant and bar (he is a gift to the resort and really takes care of you!)…still had the amazing Frances who gets you from the dock to the room…and then many adventurous outings in between (you are amazing Frances)…but there were other staff as well that respected the importance of service.
It was a larger service family.
The casita we stayed in (8 in total on the island) was wonderful. Everything down to the finest detail was found within the casita – including the most wonderful bed and linens and amenities.
Whether just lounging at the beach, swimming, paddle boarding, or hiking on the coast, the ocean in this part of the world is very beautiful.
Large tides create changing landscapes and many places to explore, and calm, warm waters lend themselves to a lot of time in the water.
The food, again, was stellar. We had written in a previous review about how good the food was, and again, it was delicious!
A chef that has access to local fresh ingredients, in conjunction with a garden on the island itself results in that type of food that just has a unique and special flavor.
Everything tastes fresh, is well thought out, and nicely varied.

3. Mount Totumas Cloud Forest 3* – Eco Lodge Panama
Video Review of Mount Totumas Cloud Forest
This suite has a private terrace, spa bath, flat-screen TV, private entrance and dining area.
There is also bathroom with hot water and a safety-deposit box.
This place is, in a word, special.
There is a beautiful sense of remoteness with sufficient comforts to make time here totally relaxing; a complete escape.
The owners, Jeffrey and Alma, have realized a dream for retirement of building a highly unique eco-tourism experience for guests.
The lodge has, somehow, been built at the end of a ridge up high in the mountains near Volcan.
Getting here is an experience in itself. 7 km of abandoned logging road – now farm access road, that takes over one hour to drive.
It is steep, rocky, crosses three rivers, and must be an absolute terror in muddy conditions.
But don’t let the drive up sway you because the reward at the top is so worth it.
The Lodge is built on a very large property with about 30 km of hiking trails all through the rain forest, valleys, and mountain ridges.
These trails give access to excellent birding, and a variety of monkeys and other animals; not to mention a huge variety of interesting Flora.
While not “luxurious”, everything you need is present and the owners have done an excellent job of attending to all the facilities in a very tasteful and detailed way.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the minute you arrive.
Jeffrey is full of energy and very excited to give you the history of the lodge as well as any information about the local ecology that you might want to know.
Alma is an excellent chef, producing beautiful meals, three times per day, and can even pack your lunches for hiking if you like.
There is no question that the reception you get from the owners, their daughter, Corinne, and their staff, is what elevates this facility to a must-do status.
We stayed in the newly built treehouse cabin. A funky, multilevel cabin built around a large deciduous tree.
A thick branch runs through the shower as if to prove to you that you are elevated in the forest.
The deck faces out to the canopy and so you can enjoy your locally grown and roasted coffee while getting a head start on birding for the day.
A small river that cascades below means you always have the sound of nature in the background when you sleep.
The dining/living room is perfectly situated to provide jaw-dropping views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
The flowering plants and hummingbird feeders all around it mean there are always plenty of beautiful birds to watch as you eat and relax.
We hired the 20-year-old son of the property manage, Rinaldo, to guide us (birding) through the hikes on the property.
Despite having no formal training, he was outstanding.
He knew all the local bird species, knew how to find them, and do all their calls. We were fortunate to see some rare species that were out of season.
Never wanting to settle with the status quo, Jeffrey and Alma are expanding a small coffee plantation on the property, to be big enough to export.
For now, they handpick and sort the beans to produce a small amount of coffee for the lodge.
It is excellent Panamanian coffee and they even have the famed geisha coffee.
An important thing to be mindful of if you were coming here: you need to arrange transportation to the lodge.
Either you need a very sturdy 4-wheel-drive vehicle with heavy duty tires, or you need to make an arrangement for a driver to bring you up.
The cost from Volcan is $60 each way if you use a driver. Despite the cost we liked having the driver because he obviously knew the road well and how to drive it.
Value: outstanding.
