Spacious room, large bathroom, huge comfy bed. Excellent free WiFi in room. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Good to see they offer Eco linen choices. The breakfast was excellent!

The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for. The beds were quite comfortable. The bathroom was huge and well-designed; there’s even a small ironing board that stows under a shelf in the bathroom.

The staff was superb – very friendly, helpful, and courteous. We arrived at almost 10:00PM and were quite tired from a long day of traveling. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The breakfast buffet was extensive and had something for everyone. The wait staff was professional and attentive without being intrusive.

Take a moment to enjoy the cow figurines in the lobby near the large Swiss cow bell made entirely of chocolate – a nod to the hotel’s name.

This is a multi-award winning hotel. We stayed at Swissotel Lima for a week and we traveled through Latin America for 5 weeks staying at many purported 5 star hotels. By far, Swissotel was the best for us. The team’s attention to detail, service, English language skills, friendliness, and helpfulness were great. A special shout out to Enrique, from the concierge team, who helped organise our tours.
The facilities are amazing too. Please please please, if you have time, try the spa. It is world class!! The pool and gym facilities are great too. The location of this hotel is also good. Their are world class restaurants near by like Astrid y Gastón is only a 7 minute walk away. We also enjoyed the food both in the main lobby and the lounge, the buffet breakfast is worth a special mention. The rooms are spacious, with large bathrooms. The daily chocolates the team leave in your room after every room turn-over are delicious.

2. Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel  5* – Eco Friendly Hotels Peru

Located in Aguas Calientes, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is a colonial-style property that offers massage sessions and Andean sauna. The spacious rooms feature tiled floors and seating areas. Buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner are included in the rates.

Decorated with Andean tapestries, rooms at Inkaterra boast beds with cotton sheets, alpaca blankets and canopies. Some rooms have Wi-Fi, fireplaces, marble basins and private pools.

There is a restaurant that offers Andean cuisine overlooking the Vilcanota River.

A 4-minute walk from Machu Picchu train station, this posh village-style hotel is set in 5 hectares of gardens, 4 km from the Temple of the Moon and 9 km from Machu Picchu, a 15th-century Inca citadel.

The luxe rooms offer free Wi-Fi and flat-screens, as well as iPod docks, safes and minibars. Lavish suites and villas have features such as terraces, plunge pools and fireplaces. Room service is offered. Villas add 24/7 butler service.

Breakfast, dinner and train transfers are complimentary. Amenities include a refined, glass-walled restaurant/bar with views of the Urubamba River, a thatched cafe overlooking the Vilcanota River and a posh spa.

This enchanting Andean village hotel is located within 12.3 acres of pristine cloud forest. The spectacular grounds are laced with paths that wind past waterfalls and trails, and organic gardens that wander through the misty forest. A place to relax, while exploring nature and encountering the wonders of the Inca civilization, experiencing authentic travel.

Beautiful hotel nestled deep in the cloud forest surrounded by stone mountains and rushing rivers in the Peruvian Andes. A true nature lovers delight.

Our charming casita with terracotta tiles and wooden beams was surrounded by jungle greenery and cobblestone walkways. The casitas interior was rustic Andean decor with spacious living rooms, marble bathrooms, open air showers, and a wood burning fireplace. Many thoughtful touches gave the casita the feel of a high-end luxury.

The hotel’s restaurant for breakfast and dinner featured delicious modern Peruvian cuisine with an incredible patio and amazing views of the river.

This hotel is a must when visiting Machu Picchu. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to enjoy the magic of this beautiful eco friendly hotel.

I had been upgraded and my suite was quiet and off the beaten path [sorta speak] and included my very own private hot-tub, platform-like comfy cozy lounge/bed and amazing rain shower outside. [I was in VIP heaven] Even though I was solo, I easily saw this secluded suite with outdoor space, romantic for couples. Inside, equally impressive, with enormous bathroom, plush towels & robes, Eco conscience amenities and one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever had the privilege to dream on, due in-part to the exquisite bedding and duvet.

Inkaterra’s rooms/suites are not equipped with air-conditioning [rarely needed] and during nightly turndown, small heaters are intuitively placed bedside and instead of electric blankets a hot water bottle is placed under the covers gently warming the bed, pillows are chocolate topped and an additional small heater in the bathroom, mini fridge with waters… Drum-roll please, the best feature is the fireplace stocked with wood and fire starter things that make lighting a breeze, and restocked daily.

Adjacent to the lobby is an area with books on hummingbirds, butterflies, four legged creatures and orchids, you can also inquire about the many types of tour’s offered on and off property.

Everything about Inkaterra Eco Lodge screams luxury and its service screams Five Star… location, grounds, spa, pool, walkways, suites and I’ve not even mentioned the two orchid, herb and tea gardens each meticulously maintained, walking trails you can explore solo or guided… oh, oh, oh, Hummingbirds and Butterflies are everywhere, mesmerizing and breathtaking to watch. areas inside [and out] are comfy, cozy, well-appointed and welcoming… in gorgeous Andes style with scented candles, fireplaces, and even though the Hiram Bingham Train operates next to one side of the resort [only a few yards] you will barley [if at all] notice.

Each of the restaurants offer yum, yum yummy options each breakfast, lunch and dinner and prepared to perfection, and for evening dining I suggest at this five star resort, rainforest chic though they won’t bat an eye at jeans & shorts, and room-service one morning arrived prompt and delicious.

This is a fantastic eco friendly hotel right by the railway station. When you step in it feels like you are in the Amazon with the amazing plants and trees and the greenery. There is the sound of water everywhere. The check in process was very smooth and we found out that we had been upgraded to a Junior Suite which was huge! The dinner at the restaurant that night was wonderful with great service. They have a fantastic spa where we had massages the next morning and then my wife spent an hour and a half exploring their orchid gardens.

A great place, if you love nature this is the perfect hotel, we saw bears, beautiful plants, birds…they offer different tours , the whole place is just eco friendly, everything is top class…we would love to go back and spend more time.

Complimentary amenities include a breakfast buffet, and lunch or dinner. Cooking and cocktail-making classes are offered. There’s a also a refined restaurant and a bar, plus a steam room.

Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel is a family hotel with ample experience in the luxury hospitality business in the country. Experience that makes Sumaq a hotel dedicated entirely to its guests. In addition to its exclusive service, it offers a privileged location in the Machu Picchu historic sanctuary, on the banks of the Vilcanota River near the main tourist attractions. The Aguas Calientes train station is just a ten-minute walk away, and we provide bus service from the door of the hotel to and from Machu Picchu for our guests.

This property is located at the end of the hotel strip, the first one you see as you take the bus to Aguascalientes Calientes from Machu Picchu. We had a nice room with a balcony overlooking the Urubamba River. Our stay included a three course gourmet dinner, welcome cocktail, goody platter in the room, and an afternoon tea.

Our room overlooked the raging river and the enormous mountain. We spent a lot of time on our balcony watch a hummingbird watch us!! The Eco-luxury was a nice touch in such a beautiful place. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This hotel was very quiet when we arrived, and when we went to dinner, the dining room was empty. The food was some of the best that we had the whole time in Peru. The rooms were also comfortable, and the hotel was centrally located, but also a little off of the main drag which kept it very private. The hotel is eco-friendly, too.

Staff was wonderful, friendly and professional. Loved the eco friendly amenities! The food was beyond fantastic and your iced coca tea was very yummy! The hotel is gorgeous, just a couple minutes to town and train station! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a superior deluxe double room on the second floor with a direct view of the Urumbamba River. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was ample room for everybody. As I said, the room faced the river which is quite amazing, but for those who do not enjoy the sound of rushing water, you may want to request an interior room. I found the sound to be quite relaxing, while others may find it to be a bit loud. I and my family had two very good night’s sleep.

The staff is extremely attentive without being overbearing. A glass of iced coca tea welcomed us along with small cakes and cookies as it was tea time when we arrived. A complimentary pisco sour prior to dinner on our first night was very good. The food at the hotel’s restaurant can best be described as “novoandino” and is very good. A full three-course dinner was included with our stay (beverages are extra). I highly recommend the classical trout ceviche with rocoto chiles – fresh, spicy and delicious! The breakfast buffet was quite extensive, with everything from fresh fruit and yogurt to eggs, bacon and andean toast made with quinoa.

This hotel is in a great location, has excellent food and service and is suitable for all types of travelers (singles, couples, families, etc.). The hotel is quite eco-conscious by recycling and minimizing waste – even the architecture pays homage to the Inca way of building by working with the existing environment – check out the partially-open stairwell built against the rock. If we are ever lucky enough to get back to Machu Picchu again, we would definitely stay here.

4. Eco Lodge 3* – Eco Friendly Hotels Peru

Eco Lodge
Eco Lodge

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace, this fully equipped 5-bedroom guest accommodation offers rooms with sea views.

The rooms at Eco Lodge feature private bathrooms. There is a 7am till 11pm front desk that can arrange surf and kitesurf lessons, as well as massage and yoga sessions, and laundry services. There is also a tour desk that can arrange car or bicycle rentals.

Eco Lodge is conveniently located only 300 m from the handcraft market and 500 m from the bus station.

Eco Lodge is a hotel designed considering nature’s well being, built with local construction materials, under an eco-design architectural concept. It counts with 3 types of comfortable rooms: Matrimonial Simple – king-sized bed, Matrimonial Plus – king-sized bed + simple bed. Suite – king-sized bed + 2 beds, living room, home theater, double terrace. Duplex – ling-sized bed, kitchen, yoga terrace.

Eco Lodge is by far the best place to stay in Mancora. Its away from the noise on the main street but only 10 minutes walk to the beach. The rooms are really nice and clean. The beds have mosquito nets and ventilators. My room didn’t have aircon, but some rooms do, although it does get cool at night.

The pool is small but also very clean. There is plenty of hot water to take a shower, although you really don’t need it since the weather is warm. The breakfast is excellent, the portions are good and menu changes daily (pancakes, eggs, yogurt, marmalade, bred etc).

We were incredibly thrilled to discover Eco Lodge Mancora, an amazingly designed lodge by the talented and friendly owner, architect, and builder, Tom.

As soon as we stepped foot into Eco Lodge we were instantly surrounded by calming and good-hearted energy. The girls in reception greeted us with warm smiles, welcomed us to our new home, helped us with our baggage, offered us coffee, tea, food, and encouraged us to make ourselves comfortable. We found all of the staff so friendly and happy to help, with many of them being bilingual (Spanish / French / English).

As we arrived early and our room was not yet ready, we were given a tour of the lodge and kindly seated in the outdoor dining area and provided with an all-organic breakfast – fresh juice, coffee, bread, jam, banana crepes, and fruit salad – so delicious and very generous serving sizes!

We were made to feel at home and provided with towels to use while we enjoyed the swimming pool and day beds. The common pool area was surrounded with table and chair areas, deck space, sun-beds, hammocks, books, magazines, and many beautiful palm trees – it was difficult not to feel anything but very refreshed & relaxed!

Eco Lodge also offer a lunch and dinner food delivery service from five highly rated but affordable restaurants in town. The friendly reception staff made a phone call and within 30 minutes our delicious room service meal had arrived via moto-taxi. There is also a fridge stocked with an assortment of beverages and many red wine options.

Sleeping a total of around 17 people, Eco Lodge has such a pleasant atmosphere, never too crowded, but always a friendly face about.

Offering on-site massages and a yoga platform/classes, there are so many options for soothing your soul and body here! Eco Lodge can also assist you with organising surfing, kite-surfing, paddle boards, horseback riding, swimming with the turtles, and much more!

The standard checkout is 12 noon, however as our next bus-ride was not until later that night, we were invited to stay and enjoy the pool and outdoor areas in the lodge, and keep our bags stored until we needed to leave.

We hope to be able to return to Eco Lodge another time – we had the most incredible stay here and did not want to leave this beautiful hidden environmentally friendly kingdom.

This place was perfect for our trip! We were on our honeymoon, and had just come off a 4-day backpacking trip in the mountains. We needed somewhere reasonably priced to relax for a weekend, and Eco Lodge did not disappoint!

Our bed was AMAZING – so comfortable and pretty. Our room was clean, our breakfasts were delicious, the hotel is eco friendly, and we were a 2 minute walk from the beach. Oscar and the staff at Eco Lodge were absolutely fantastic.

5. Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge 2* – Eco Friendly Hotels Peru

Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge
Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge

Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is located in the middle of a jungle and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as free airport shuttles and fishing and hiking excursions in the area. A restaurant and a bar are featured on site. Nauta is 20 km away.

Bungalows at Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge have a rustic decor, palm tree ceilings and environmentally-friendly materials. They are also fitted with mosquito nets and panoramic views of Pacaya Samiria Nacional Reserve. A terrace with hammocks is included in all units. All bathroom facilities are private.

Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is approximately 2.40 hours Iquitos and 10 minutes from the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve , we have 9 comfortable cabins , all with a terrace to enjoy a panoramic view of the reserve. Offer , ecotourism excursions to enjoy the great biodiversidad that owns the Reserve including pink and gray dolphins all year and more. Plus we give experiential and sensory experiences of tourism visiting communities working in the protection of natural resources within the Reserve , safeguarding culture as Kukama kukamiria.

María Elena and her staff are so welcoming, knowledgeable and fun. The lodge supports the local communities nearby by providing jobs, training, and helping them to rescue their natuve language and customs.

Rey, our guide, has an eagle eye. He can spot animals from a distance and he really cares that visitors see what they came to see. He knows the names, local and scientific, of most plants and animals. He also has his own Spanglish that is very fun!

Julio manages the lodge and is always there to help you, whether you need a bandaid from the medical kit, an extra pillow, a hot ginger tea to calm a sore throat, anything!

Juanito takes the best care of the dining room, dressing the tables in the most beautiful way.

The cook of the kitchen is quite the chef, with gourmet juanes prepared by hand, local fruit juices for breakfast or available by request, river fish dishes, cecina, chonta salads, lentils and split pea purée, mash potatoes, camote chips, scrambled eggs, bananas every which way you could imagine! If you have specific food preferences, let them know in advance so they will be prepared ;).

The boat drivers, like Fernando, drive carefully, avoiding any troncodrilos (as Rey would say – floating logs) and are truly amazing and patient.

It is an eco lodge, so it’s more rustic than luxury, but it is beautifully decorated and maintained. Be mentally prepared for cold showers (believe me you will want that in the heat of the jungle!), no air conditioning and electricity only in the evenings – you are in the middle of the jungle!

But also be prepared for amazing starry skies full of shooting stars and the Milky Way, which can be observed from the Observation Deck, and hikes through the rain forest right there from the doorsteps of the lodge.

There are a variety of interesting insects, spiders, reptiles and amphibians which is all part of the experience. Sometime it rains and sometimes it doesn’t. There are hundred of birds flying overhead. Some of the mammals are not so easily visible all the time, well, it’s not the zoo. Go with an open mind and an open heart. Be ready to fall in love with the place.

Green Hotel located in picturesque San Blas, in the historic center of Cusco. Colonial style house complex, with 21 comfortable rooms, each with private bathroom, radiator-heaters, cable-TV, safe and free Wi-Fi. Homely atmosphere, personalized service y great views, en ample common spaces, garden and terraces. Natural and abundant breakfast, rooftop- cafeteria with great dishes and drinks. Very clean and secure.

We ended up staying in Cusco longer than planned originally so booked this hotel last minute. I think it is a good solid place to stay but was not my favorite. The gardens are beautiful. The breakfast room has a good view. Breakfast was large. Our room was near metal stairs though and people going up and down them was very noisy. I also found the beds and bedding to be less comfortable than other places. More hard than plush. Our room was very clean.

The staff were friendly and there is a small kitchen with a fridge which was helpful. You have to buzz every time to get in and out of the building so it feels safe and secure. The staff called a taxi for us which was helpful. The hotel (but not the rooms) are decorated with angels and demon figures. Some might find this interesting and it might freak other people out. I lean toward the “interesting” side. The street was fairly quiet. We generally walked to and from the hotel but one thing to keep in mind if not taking a taxi is that it is a lot of stairs.

Very spacious place, nice garden, offers a great variety to spend the day at the hotel, excellent view and panorama of Cusco and mountains, coffee and tea bar offered 24 hours, 10 minutes walk downhill to Plaza de Armas and to city center. Receptionists very helpful. Cafeteria very nice where you can get your breakfast and drinks. Within close vicinity restaurants, tiny markets to buy water, travel agencies, all you need.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Water pressure is perfect. Hot shower was the best thing after all the hikes we did in the area. The little garden in the center of the hotel is beautiful and charming.

The hotel is on the higher end of Cusco. The hike to get there wasn’t bad. We had to walk slowly the first day, but once you get adjusted, its really not a big deal. But because the hotel is higher, you get the amazing view of Cusco city. There are many spots in the hotel where you can see the view, my favorite is the Sun room on the third floor. Its like the Zen room with running water that you can relax. Too bad we discovered this room towards the end of our trip.

The staffs are great. Elena who works at reception is a sweetheart! We had a lot of questions when we first got to the hotel, she was so friendly and helpful, answered every single question patiently and gave us a lot of good suggestions. The hotel also packed us breakfast/lunch whenever we had day tours, those lunch boxes were always ready no matter how early our tours started.

Comfortable, modern and super clean rooms. The hotel is up the hill about 10 minutes walk from the main square – If you get the slightly more expensive rooms you also get great views of Cusco. Other rooms face the hotel’s beautiful courtyard.

The breakfast (included) is just amazing, lots of choice and great quality. We couldn’t stop eating! The service in the hotel and the restaurant was superb. The restaurant has very reasonable prices – a very good option to enjoy a drink or grab a bite while enjoying the views.

The only downside I can think of is that getting back to the hotel after a whole day walking around the city is a bit tiring (because of the altitude and because it’s uphill), and a taxi will take longer than walking because of the narrow, one way streets. Then again thanks to being high up the hill the hotel has amazing views.
