The Eco Hotel fits into the laid back atmosphere of Mundaka. The building and rooms are basic compared to today’s standards, but clean. Basic means: no airco, small bathroom, a real key (!).
It definitely feels like a family hotel and that is precisely what makes this hotel topnotch : the staff. Friendly, a personal touch in conversation, helpful, willing to speak English.
The eco side of the hotel is reflected in the coffee they serve, the positive quotes on the wall. Don’t worry: you will get clean towels.

They also run an ice cream shop with amazing choices.
The bread at breakfast is amazing.

Advice/conclusion:
-parking is an issue in Mundaka. Contact the hotel before going there.
-if the ocean doesn’t interest you then Mundaka has nothing else to offer. The region is interesting and connectivity (train, bus) works well.

-Mundaka is, just like the rest of Spain, not a great place for vegetarians.
-the hotel is surfer friendly: they have a place where you can leave your board. One of the staff members, Mike, also gives surfing lessons! The hotel is close to the beach.
-Mundaka is pet friendly, the hotel as well. You will see a lot of dogs in Mundaka and luckily not a lot of poo on the streets.

This is a wonderful hotel in a small street about 1 minute from the port and 5 minutes from the nearest beach. The hotel is clean and fresh, although not modern. From the moment we arrived, we had exceptional staff service, great breakfasts (all Eco and Organic) and information and helpful guidance at every turn.

They printed our boarding passes, looked up bus time tables on the net for us, loaned us 2 glasses and a corkscrew for a sunset picnic, gave us great local information and advice and were warm and friendly each and every time we spoke to any of them. Our 3 days there was so relaxing and the standard of cleaning in the rooms was great, towels were white and fluffy, responses to any issue or concern were dealt with immediately.

It is a surfers paradise (we don’t surf) but even if you do not surf, this hotel and the village/ town it is in makes for a wonderful break out of Bilbao. Recommend wholeheartedly.

This is my second visit to Puebloastur EcoResort . really appreciate the hospitality I got from the staff there. they are very professional and humble to serve their guests. Rooms are precious and also public areas are very clean and beautiful. foods also delicious. A great Hotel to visit in Europe.
I recently stayed at the Puebloastur EcoResort and can’t recommend it enough! The resort itself is beautiful and the staff will do everything they can to make your stay perfect.
The rooms are spacious and equipped with new technology throughout. The breakfast spread is delicious – fruits, pastries, breads, Jamon, fresh juices, jams, eggs made to order, and a full menu of other items. Staying at the Puebloastur will guarantee you have an amazing Spain vacation.
We found this brand new 5 stars Eco Resort in Cofino close to Ribadesella (20km) in Asturias. The place is magnificent. Located in a small village up in the mountains, the views of Picos de Europa are incredible. The resort has an outside swimming pool, spa and restaurants. Nicely decorated. Staff are very professional and friendly. Rooms are cozy and with excellent views. The hotel is a 5 star hotel, hence the price is high but it is absolutely worth it. I truly recommend this gem in Asturias. Excellent place for a relaxing time.

Puebloastur is straight out of a fairy tale.

The views are breathtaking and tranquil all at the same time. To top it off, the rooms are beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and clean.

The staff was warm, professional, and very attentive.

The smell of fresh lilies welcomes you. Your room is decorated in an understated elegant motif inviting you in, comforting you immediately. You wander the perfectly decorated halls and stop to browse thru the plethora of eclectic books in the library then slump down in comfy sofa in a private corner and forget your worries. You immediately feel like you are home. THIS IS ONE SPECIAL HOTEL! We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our stay here.
This property is simply enchanting. We have to say that the staff is so perfect. They provide you exactly the level of service you need. Not in your face but subtle excellence.
Located in a quaint village high in the mountains where all you hear in the wee hours of the morning are the animals beginning their day. It is such a relaxing place to stay. Our room had a beautiful corner terrace where we would sit each evening and enjoy some local wines and just spend hours talking, something that is becoming harder and harder to do these days. We enjoyed our time so much on our terrace that we actually ate room service out there on a couple of occasions.
This is one of those places you’ll remember forever. You’ll recall what life is like when its slowed down and allowed to be enjoyed. Its as if time has slowed in the small village of Cofino, Spain and we were so grateful for that.
We cannot thank the staff enough for welcoming us to their humble abode. We hope others find the same comfort and joy we did in their exquisite accommodations.

Aire de bardenas is a new hotel concept. Single-story design surrounded by nature, forming part of the landscape. The 22 rooms available include four deluxe suites, piercing alongside the bardenas reales national park and biosphere reserve.

I can say just one thing about this experience: Amazing! When we decided to escape the city for the Easter holiday we had no idea about what to expect from our one night stop at Aire de Bardenas. We like adventures, feeling like explorers, make great memories and this place was all this things together. We slept in a huge air bubble with our private bathroom, an extremely comfy bed and a great view. The bubble is completely transparent and when you turn off the light you feel like you were under the stars. Sleeping in the bubbles at Aire de Bardenas is not a night at an hotel, is a life experience.

Some few words about the hotel: the staff is lovely, and the restaurant very good with a good selection of wines and foods. But… If you are not a little bit adventurous do not choose the lunar bubbles but the other typology of room 😉 I highly recommend this beautiful, Eco-friendly, hotel.

The hotel is near to a semi desert area and fits in nicely with its ‘container-like’ style combined with cubicles. All allow you to enjoy a great view, or a closed off small stone patio with an outside bath.

The room makes use of every square mm and all is present in a Japanese downsize style. No fancy or Spanish styled stuff here.

The lounge area inside and out is of a nice minimalized style with a range of cocktails, drinks and local beers. Food is superb with loads of own greens from the own garden.

So is place is unique. The location, the architectural features, the rooms and the outside bathtub. The staff is very friendly and swift. The restaurant serves top notch food and drinks. Breakfast and dinner was really good. Parking is abundant. The rooms are unique and very clean. Also well kept and functional. The location of this place is about 20 minutes away from other amenities. We had one of the lower priced rooms which are all joined by a large hallway.

The architecture of the place is minimalist and integrated to the nature, the staff is friendly and helpful, the surroundings are impressive and in 5 kms you are in a small desert with canyons! The food was very good although the breakfast was too brief (coffee & bread), the room had a bathtub on the outside yard, the experience was relaxing and enjoyable.

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Hotel Aire de Bardenas. Loved the bathtub in the private garden, great to both cool off in during the day and to lay in looking up at the stars during the night. The room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant, particularly the desserts which were superb.

The location is stunning, and the compound is such a weird oddity out in the desert. The room layout is exactly what you would expect from a boutique hotel such as this, with an exceptionally sexy open bathroom (and yet a very private toilet), lighting that isn’t overly garish and bright, and great concepts in terms of space and storing your stuff.

The restaurant is pretty fantastic. The gorgeous chorizo, the lettuce that is native to Tudela, the incredibly tender lamb. We looked out the window into the biodynamic garden to see an actual young lamb gazing into the window at us. It was an unforgettable farm to table moment.

4. Les Cols Pavellons 3* – Eco Friendly Hotels Spain

Les Cols Pavellons
Les Cols Pavellons

Les Cols Pavellons is set in Olot, close the Garrotxa Volcanic Nature Reserve. The property offers guests an unusual type of accommodation featuring zen décor rooms with glass floors and walls.

Surrounded by countryside, Les Cols Pavellons features 5 pavilions. Each of them includes a heated onsen, a private bathroom and a comfortable futon mat.

Next to the property, you will find a typical Catalan country house which has a 2-Michelin-star restaurant.

Set in a historic country house with ultramodern, high-concept glass annexes, this innovative hotel off the A-26 highway is 2 km from Museu de la Garrotxa and 6 km from the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.

The imaginative rooms are set in glass cubes with semi-transparent walls, and offer showers. Room service is available.

Breakfast and picnic lunches are included. Other amenities consist of a chic restaurant, as well as a garden and bar service.

See why so many travelers make Les Cols Pavellons their hotel of choice when visiting Olot. Providing an ideal mix of value, comfort and convenience, it offers a luxury setting with an array of amenities designed for travelers like you.

Guest rooms offer air conditioning, and Mas Les Cols Hotel makes getting online easy as free wifi is available.

You can also take advantage of some of the amenities offered by the hotel, including room service, a picnic area, and baggage storage. In addition, guests can enjoy free breakfast during their visit. As an added convenience, there is free parking available to guests.

While in Olot be sure to experience local tapas favorites at Umami, El Celler, or El Cafe Del Firal.

There is no shortage of things to do in the area: explore popular architectural buildings such as Escola d’art d’Olot.

Such a special place to disconnect from reality and enjoy the small details of nature! We had a romantic night picnic in our pabellon (room), slept very well, had an organic breakfast outside in the garden and by the time we checked out, they gave us a picnic bag with lunch boxes to walk and see the area. Super friendly and caring staff in Les Cols.

It is the perfect place for one night of intimacy with someone you love. Highly recommended! Thank you Les Cols for such an exceptional experience.

Staying at Les Cols is a unique experience. Nothing to do with a luxury hotel, it’s a completely different concept. An amazing design of RCR Architects, the pavellons are glass cubes, with a very sober design, that seem inspired by the zen / japanese culture, where you can enjoy the surrounding nature at its best.

No tv or music, because they would spoil the very intimate contact with nature you feel inside the pavilions. The bath-shower area is a real gem. It is worth going to see the orchard, very relaxing as well.

Service is very kind, punctual, and extremely helpful. As soon as I asked if there were mosquitoes, they lent me an electric repellent.

I understand some people post negative reviews. If you are looking for a hotel, stay away from Les Cols. As I see it, it’s not a hotel but a couple’s experience.

I recommend to go with your couple and stay one or two nights maximum. As a hotel, it’s not comfortable: basic amenities are lacking, there are no cupboards (leave your bags on the floor and so on), not even shelves to leave the toothbrush…

But as an experience it’s a very good one. The ambience, the bathtub (amazing!), the shower… it’s a great place to spend a couple of nights with your couple, just forgetting about everything.

First of all, I would have been happy in a wood crate with spikes after the fantastic meal at the restaurant and then being able to walk downhill to bed. But I understand why this place is polarizing; clearly not a hotel for everyone. i think you need to be adventurous, spiritual, or have a good sense of humor. It is fun, quirky and beautiful, if not necessarily comfortable. The staff were super nice and overall it was a great experience. Perfect for a one night fling for a special occasion.

A breakfast buffet and parking are complimentary. A high-end restaurant with a terrace uses produce from an organic kitchen garden. Other amenities include an outdoor pool and landscaped gardens, plus a spa area offering massages and yoga.

Excellent option for a different stay in Majorca.

Food: awesome with fruits and vegetables produced in the estate.

Accommodation : generous and nicely decorated rooms

Facilities : beautiful family pool and nice 18 year old and over pool. Amazing massage service.

Location : very well placed with a number of small coast villages at 10-15 min range.

We stayed here for the first time in a junior suite which was spacious with a nice, big balcony equipped with sunbeds and two chairs. Nice bathroom with bath and seperate shower. Bvlgari amenities. The place is quiet. You will be waked up in the morning by the chanting birds. Very kind staff supervised by Alicia. Wonderful breakfast buffet in the morning with eggs cooked to order. Great dinners at night except for the Tuesday night when the chef is off.

They charge € 39 per person for an amuse followed by a three course dinner. I think this hotel offers the best food in the area. I Have stayed in many hotels in this region, but never had this quality of food. Nice selection of wines. Beautiful pool area with sun beds, showers, changing rooms and toilets. About twenty minutes driving from Es Trenc beaches and Colonia de Sant Jordi. Many guests return every year and so will we.

This is great for a short break as very accessible from Palma (only about 30 minute drive from the airport and easy to find). It’s really beautifully done, simple and stylish with comfortable rooms and a large pool. We had a standard double which was very nice with a large bathroom.

The breakfasts are amazing. We were end of season and it was very peaceful there, the rooms were pretty much all booked but it was very quiet. I wasn’t overwhelmed by the surrounding area, I suspect there are other parts of the island which are more beautiful, but for a total relax for a couple of days Son Bernadinet was perfect.

The main building is an old villa – typical spanish, with tiled floor and white walls, nicely furnished and with some great art touches. Greeted by lovely member of the owner’s family, who personally showed us everything and took us to our room. Rooms are big, comfortable, all white and set among a beautiful garden. Pool area and grounds are so beautiful and just give you a sense of peace.

Now. The food is amazing!!! Breakfast was included in our rate and was the kind of buffet where you actually get upset by the amount of things you don’t have space to try. Dinner has to be ordered before noon and is a set course meal. The Chef really has great taste, and it’s worth having once or twice but it does get quite pricey to eat there all the time.

This is the classy side of majorca and is a great base to explore the island from. When you get back from the crowded touristic beaches you have a little peace and quiet. The people are mostly couples and families with well behaved kids.
