1. Icehotel 4* – Eco Hotel Sweden

Located in Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden, the Icehotel features rooms entirely made out of sculptured ice from the neighboring Torne River. Warm rooms are also offered. A bookable sauna experience featuring a sauna, wood-burning hot tub and ice bath is available for a fee.

Holding a temperature between -5 to -8 degrees Celsius, the individually themed cold rooms include hand-carved ice furnishings by international artists. Guests sleep in thermal sleeping bags on beds covered in reindeer hides.

In the morning, guests can enjoy the shared sauna. All warm rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, dining area, and a privat.

The Icehotel is a hotel rebuilt each year with snow and ice in the village of Jukkasjärvi, in northern Sweden, about 17 kilometres from Kiruna. It is the world’s first ice hotel. After its first opening in 1990, the hotel has been rebuilt each year from December to April.

This special property offers a unique stay among the trees of Harads’s forests. It blends cutting-edge architecture and design with home comforts like tea/coffee makers and free WiFi.

Treehotel’s eco-friendly rooms feature large beds as well as stylish, up-to-date décor and furniture. Naturally, all rooms offer views of the forest and surrounding countryside. Each has a toilet and washbasin, while showers are found in a neighbouring building.

This central Stockholm hotel is just 200 m from Sergels Torg Square and 500 m from Kungsträdgården Park. With a focus on sustainability, Hobo’s restaurant offers organic and seasonal dishes, of which many are vegetarian. Free gym access and free WiFi are included.

All rooms at Hobo feature industrial chic design and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Some rooms feature views of the city. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer.

A café-style, organic breakfast is served daily for an additional fee. Guests can choose from a variety of breakfast items, such as chia pudding, egg muffins, sandwiches and fruit.

 

4. The Arctic Bath 4* – Green Hotels Sweden

We enjoyed everything! Our cottage was so beautiful, the staff was so nice and service minded, the spa was excellent, and the nature is just to die for. Still, our absolute favorite part was the food.

The food alone would have been worth the journey.

We had a great and gorgeous stay. It was like a dream. We had a great time in our land cabin for our family.

The dinner was excellent. And the spa amazing.

We had a nice woman from the hotel who suggested to teach us how to use the sauna and go in the cold bath. It was a very nice experience as we never did it before and we really appreciated having somebody to be with us.

A very special small boutique hotel at a beautiful nature spot! We had a perfect time staying six days at this wonderful hotel. There are two room categories, small rooms floating on the river and land cabins. We chose the land cabin as being 3 persons. The room is very comfortable and has a great view to the river and sunset. The beds are in high quality and the all over design and setup is fine. On the last night we stayed at two floating rooms – they are quite small, but very well designed, romantique and perfect for a couple. The bathroom is even nicer, than in the land cabin. Overall – the setup to the rooms are nice and nothing to complain.

The real asset of this place is of course the stunning nature, the possible activities and the overall design concept of the cabins and the mail fancy 360 building. Only 12 rooms are making it very cosy and personal.

So – the spot is nice, well developed and a trip worth.

Truly amazing experience at Arctic Bath. We spent three nights in one of the wonderful and beautifully decorated suits. Being very far away from the city, we were expecting something nice but not with this standard. The staff was very welcoming, from the moment we arrived they proposed to lend us some warm clothes for our activities during our stay (they had every size, very helpful since we didn’t have enough hot clothes.) The manager Erica is wonderful, she made us feel at home and advised us throughout our stay. We can’t write enough nice things regarding these people, that were all friendly and nice.

Arctic Bath is one of the most unique hotels in Sweden. The design of the hotel and the villas is amazing, and the location on the river is great too. Food is very nice with interesting flavors. The food menu is well paired with suitable wines. The staff is talkative and friendly, but not too much. So you can have a great time with your own company, but also get a nice chat with the staff if you like that.

I would say that the whole package is what makes this place so nice. The cold bath is a unique experience like this, and the spa area is very nice as well.

The rooms are nicely decorated and feature everything you could possibly need for a nice vacation.

5. Steam Hotel 4* – Eco Hotel in Sweden

Featuring a rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking Lake Mälaren, Steam Hotel is an 18-storey hotel just 2 km away from central Västerås. WiFi is free.

The air-conditioned rooms come with a flat-screen TV, work desk and coffee/tea facilities. A minibar and ironing facilities are also included. The bathroom features free toiletries, a hairdryer and a bath or shower.
