Fabulous hosts and a beautiful location. Thank you so much. Lovely and clean, great welcome. The grounds of the house are stunning and the house is run on renewable energy so eco friendly. Also charging points for electric cars so a great blot hole where you can also rejuice the car. Very well priced, great value.
This was such a lovely place to stay. The location is fantastic. It’s quiet and peaceful, and we had a view of the steam trains going past from our bedroom window. There’s a lot to do nearby even on rainy days; we braved the rain for a walk and came back to find a roaring log fire to warm us up. The owners even put newspaper in our walking boots so that they were dry for the next day!
The B&B offers a good breakfast with homemade bread, and lots of lovely to have extras such as board games that you can borrow. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about what’s on in the area. And of course, it’s eco-friendly, so you don’t need to feel guilty about the impact of your holiday on the environment.
The position of the property is unrivalled both for setting off up the mountain and for riding and viewing steam trains. They have incredible eco credentials which our host was keen to explain to us and it was a pity we didn’t possess an electric car to make use of the charging points!
A wonderful stay at this eco b&b which included 2 charge points for our electric car. The hosts John and Celia were very welcoming and full of useful advice which helped us immensely in our planning for each day. The breakfast was delicious and included homemade bread and jam.
Rooms were on the small side but comfortable and had everything we needed. There was also a lovely garden to roam around and the kids enjoyed feeding the ducks each morning. We will definitely be back as there is so much to do and see in the area – most attractions are only a short drive away.
. Food was simple but hearty and mostly clear plates all round! Breakfast covered all options of cereal, homemade bread (delicious!), yoghurts and the standard fry up cooked to personal choice. although some minor errors were made (added mushrooms and tomatoes both times despite asking without) but this was not a deal breaker.
THe rooms were basic but clean with ensuite and had all the little touches (tea point, complimentary biscuits and grooming packs) to make it welcoming. John was very knowledgeable on his green business and you could clearly tell the guest house is a passion project for the couple. Despite not being the most eco friendly guests, we did our best to recycle our rubbish and not leave too much of a carbon footprint. as the only guests the second night we had free reign of the common room which was great for a larger group like us to enjoy and relax after a busy day.
Definitely worth staying at if you want beautiful natural views of the countryside, local steam train and a guest house full of history and local interest. Hopefully next time we can try out the sauna.

The hotel was fantastic.
We stayed here for two nights and couldn’t have been happier. The room was nice and clean, and very eco friendly. The staff was friendly and really helpful when asking about things in the city.
The location is perfect for sightseeing and SHOPPING.
The room was very attractive, and had everything you need. There wasn’t a lot of walking around room, but it was adequate as we weren’t intending to spend a huge amount of time in the rooms.
There was a nice size TV with freeview channels.
The safe was a nice touch as you can set it to whatever code you like, and know your valuables will be secure when you are out and about.
The bathroom was attractive, a good size, the bath spacious and the shower of good power.
There was an ice machine in the corridor which was a nice touch to have a cold drink at the end of the day.
There are no mini toiletries at this hotel as it counts itself as an eco hotel, however there was a shower and hair squeezable pump of a good size at the end of the bath, and a dove soap dispenser by the sink. So not necessary to bring soap with you.
The towels were of a reasonable quality and size.
The beds were excellent, I am very fussy about mattresses but they were really were perfect. The pillows better than I expected they would be, pretty good.
Breakfast was absolutely sumptuous and lacked nothing – orange juice, coffee, fruit salad, croissants, toast along with a full cooked breakfast. I especially enjoyed the black pudding.
On our floor was an ice machine and a helpful male member of staff could see I was having a little difficulty and without prompting sallied forth and came back with a full ice bucket. Well done young man.
Our room also had a coffee machine in addition to a kettle and the usual tea & coffee facilities plus the addition of an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer
Unusually we also had the use of a limited amount of Sky tv
Air conditioning also in the room plus additional pillows, towels etc.

Absolute gem of a B&B. Stephen and Lynne were brilliant hosts. The old radnor barn was beautiful. Free parking next to property was a bonus for us as we were driving separately. The breakfast was delicious and good quality, catered well for me as a vegetarian. The garden was so lovely and relaxing, the hot tub is absolutely fab. The location is good, it is very easy to drive to lots of lovely places in the Brecons. Limited eating out within walking distance but the two places we visited were very nice. Great place if you want a quiet relaxing break.
Very comfortable stay in a lovely cottage, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The cooked breakfast was very good. Perfect location for many different outdoor activities. I would recommend staying here to anyone.
. Lovely accommodation conveniently located in Talgarth about 25 mins from famous Pen y Fan hill in the Brecon Beacons. Stayed in larger room (ground floor) with super king bed (electrical so you can raise/lower as you need), sofa and en-suite. Clean and cosy, with TV, tea/coffee making facilities and fresh milk. Plenty of cupboard space.
Lovely shared (with other guests) lounge and dining area where there’s plenty of reading material and a large TV. We opted for a traditional Welsh breakfast which along with toast, orange, cereal and tea/coffee was great, setting us up well for the day. Our hosts Stephen and Lynne were very welcoming and helpful, letting me and labs hang around the barn longer than planned, and work in their lovely garden when the sun came out! Good WiFi – may have been the only person using at the time. Fab view of Red Kites (10+) swoop into neighbouring garden and over my head!
Definitely go for longer and soon, as lots of great walks as well as great accommodation.
