Eco Friendly Hotels Cabo San Lucas
An eco hotel, or a green hotel, is an environmentally sustainable hotel or accommodation that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimize its impact on the natural environment and eco hotels Cabo San Lucas are considered excellent place to hang out for a couple of nights in Mexico City and then beyond in Mexico.
In order to help the air pollution dilemma, Mexico has developed vertical gardens and a public bike sharing program to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The top three environmental issues in Mexico are air pollution, lack of clean water, and deforestation.
While the area has evolved over the years, the unique natural environment of Baja Sur and ecotourism remain the heart of this destination. … The desert landscape and mountain ranges of Baja are a striking contrast to the luxury resort developments of Cabo San Lucas.

The resort itself was incredibly beautiful, extremely clean, and an eco resort which made it extra special. Super cool architecture with half of the buildings built right into the rocks. The views, amazing. The food, amazing.
The hotel is in a very good location, right across the street from the marina. We were able to walk to Cabo Cantina to watch the NFL a couple times. Ubers are $3-4 if you want to head off the resort to go to places like Cabo Wabo.
We had an oceanview room that was a bit dated than some of the other rooms facing the marina, but the view is impeccable. We sat on the balcony every morning, drank coffee, and spotted whales from our balcony. Each room has a mini fridge that gets re-stocked and a water cooler. You enter your room with your wristband which I thought was very efficient. This resort has almost no waste.
There are no straws, they recycle plates and drink cups, and it seems they are very eco-conscious. All of the menus are pulled up by scanning QR codes. I loved that. The daily program with a list of activities and open restaurants are also scanned using a QR code.
There is also a protected sea turtle area on the beach where you can view a dozen nests and see when the turtles are expected to hatch. The property is eco friendly and there is a biologist who works with the property.
The rooms are HUGE, beds are comfortable and linens are so soft. Towels and bath products are high quality.
Every room has a balcony and a view of the marina and/ or the sea. There are no plastic bottles. Every room has a water cooler so you have access to unlimited fresh drinking water. Bring your water bottle!
The hotel is built into cliffs and the layout is unique to its topography. Most new resorts don’t have 8 hot tubs (they wouldn’t want to spend the money on them) This was pretty cool to get that “unique” vibe.
The views are amazing. Pretty much every room has an amazing view and just about every restaurant you eat at has an amazing view as well. The pacific and the marina are equally as impressive.
The food was above average for an all inclusive. The breakfast restaurant was beautiful and the balcony views were amazing. The lunch selections were pretty darn good. The dinner restaurants were nice also. No reservations were needed and the selection was great.
The drinks seemed to be mixed better and with better quality than other all inclusives. It was nice that when you were at the restaurants drinks were served in a glass instead of a cheesy plastic cup.
They are an eco resort so they do have nicer plastic cups that they reuse. They don’t use straws so bring your own if you don’t like sipping mixed drinks through ice.

2. Hotel El Ganzo 4* – Eco Friendly Hotels Cabo San Lucas
Hotel El Ganzo has its own private beach club and marina, and a roof top bar that overlooks the bay. It also features an outdoor pool and free WiFi.
The accommodations at Hotel El Ganzo are air conditioned, and feature an electronic safe box, flat-screen cable TV and iPads to interact with the hotel. The rooms also have ocean views and a free mini-bar that is refilled daily. The private bathroom has a soaking bath and signature brand toiletries.
Hotel El Ganzo has 2 on-site restaurants and 2 bars, one of which is specialized in sushi; the other is a snack bar.
Set on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, this sophisticated hotel is 2.7 km from the freshwater lagoon of Estero San José and 12 km from Playa Acapulquito beach.
Featuring modern decor and rustic accents, the bright, airy suites include iPads, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, along with minibars, marble bathrooms and safes. Upgraded suites add balconies, whirlpool tubs and/or ocean views; 1- and 2-bedroom suites include private gyms and/or billiard tables.
Amenities include a farm-to-table restaurant, a rooftop eatery, and an open-air restaurant/bar with marina views, plus a bar with live music, and a spa with a sauna and a gym.
El Ganzo is Los Cabos most unique luxe boutique hotel, often described as a place of experiences. With its very own Cultural, Art & Musical program, it is a member of ‘Preferred Lifestyle’ and offers 60 deluxe ocean view rooms, three Master, four Large and two Very Large suites. Expansive views of the Sea of Cortez and Puerto Los Cabos Yacht Marina set the tone.
Perfectly situated between the area’s natural beauty and modern delights, the property stands at the mouth of Marina Puerto Los Cabos bordered by the fisherman’s wharf, and is only a 20-minute drive to the airport or just 5 minutes to the historic town of San José del Cabo and the famous Art Walk. With a full spa and golf 5 minutes away at Puerto Los Cabos Golf Course, El Ganzo truly is a unique hotel and experience in Los Cabos.
Hotel El Ganzo is a 72-room property that was built in 2012 so everything is new and a few things are still being worked out operationally. The property is located in Puerto Los Cabos, with a direct and stunning view of the Sea of Cortez.
The area is still fairly undeveloped and some of the roads are still unpaved and there’s definitely an authentic feel to this area that has been lost for years in Cabo to the south. Whereas most Cabo hotels have 90% American guests, Hotel El Ganzo has a mix of 60% American and 35% affluent Mexican and 5% European.
Hotel El Ganzo has a strong creative, artistic theme to the property with an on-site music studio to attract recording artists. There is live music and free concerts at El Ganzo almost every night. The property is white, like a canvas, with the intent to have local artists paint the walls and open areas over time, including the rooms.
Therefore, it’s a disjointed but interesting look that captures the imagination. The look is whimsical and fun without being silly, it’s chic without being aloof, and it really does inspire a sense of peace, open-mindedness and the feeling of getting away from the day-to-day grind.
The guest rooms are comfortable and lush, with high-end bedding, wonderful rain showers, and natural, eco-friendly bath products. The food at the restaurant is excellent as I had the tasting menu with wine pairing one night and was really impressed.
Lastly, the service is friendly and attentive but not polished. You don’t feel like you are in a big resort but rather a part of a community. Therefore, adjust service expectations accordingly.
If you are looking to get away from it all, enjoy and are inspired by art and music, aren’t looking for a Four Seasons type luxury experience, and don’t mind that the English skills of the staff are a bit limited, then this hotel is definitely worth a shot. I look forward to my next visit.

3. Villa del Faro 3* – Eco Hotels Cabo San Lucas Mexico
Villa del Faro offers an outdoor pool and terraces with spectacular views of the Cortez Sea. This eco-friendly property is located on the beachfront, 1.9 mi north of Boca de la Vinorama.
The solar-powered accommodations boast unique handmade furniture and a fireplace. All the accommodations have patios and terraces offering stunning views and outdoor furniture. The private bathrooms provide free toiletries.
Facing the Cortez Sea, Villa del Faro’s small restaurant opens exclusively for guests and serves Mexican cuisine that varies every day.
Breakfast is included daily and dinners can be arranged on request. There is also a full bar with an extensive wine list.
Airy lodging offering intimate cabins with upmarket decor & ocean views, plus dining & a garden.
Villa del Faro is a gem along the East Cape of Baja del Sur where relaxation and nature are prominent. This Villa, with only 8 private Casitas, is gorgeous, quiet, and eco-friendly. Situated in a birders paradise, one can watch whales spout and breech, sunrise in the morning, and take endless walks on the beach. We have spent two Februarys there and already have plans for next year.
The staff are warm, friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. The Casitas are luxurious without being pretentious and each one has small patios which overlook the sea.
Perfect for eco conscious couples that want a relaxing peaceful experience.
Excellent beachfront to stay, simply the best option east of San Jose Del Cabo, the ambiance and the beach is just wonderful, food, drinks, pool and the staff is marvelous, the landscaping is beautiful , different palm trees, birds nest, eco-friendly.
The hotel is eco-friendly and very well integrated in its surroundings. The beds were super comfortable in beautiful sunny rooms. A truly stunning garden with hummingbirds and butterflies flying around flowers with a beautiful view on the sea. A perfect spot for a relaxing family holiday in the middle of unspoilt natural beauty. Delicious breakfasts and great Mexican dinners.
Lovely walks in the nearby dry river bed (if you keep walking you do find water, small waterfalls and lots of frogs!) and on the huge empty beaches. Excellent snorkelling and scuba diving organised in the nearby Cabo Pulmo reserve (about half an hour drive).
It is an eco-resort, so all electricity is solar powered and they encourage conserving the water since it all must be trucked in. It is so dark at night that every guest is issued a flashlight. The nearest restaurant selection is 30 minutes away, and the nearest store is an hour away.
They encourage their guests to buy supplies before driving to the resort, since they only serve breakfast and, at an additional cost, dinner.
At the end of a long, dusty drive you’ll find this brilliant gem – like a tall drink of water in the desert. The friends who’ve been running this eco-lodge together for some two-dozen years welcome you like you’re one of their own. The grounds are filled with mature palms, succulents, and flowering plants. Hummingbirds, Orioles, and wrens share the gardens and provide a soundtrack for your stay.
The bungalows are cozy, homey, and each one is unique. We stayed in Casa Azul which was incredibly comfortable, and stocked with Scrabble and books. We didn’t use the fireplace, but appreciated having one just in case.
A beautiful covered sitting area including my own hammock provided a perfect perch for watching what the ocean is doing … for hours. The beach is just a short walk. We spent a lot of time on the pool deck enjoying the view, taking an occasional dip, reading, and sunning with the birds.
The food is delicious and hearty — made with care. Meals take place in a dining room open to the ocean view together with other folks staying at the lodge.
The staff has helpful advice for places to snorkel or get the best fish tacos. They’re attentive, but also give you space, peace and quiet.
