The Most Expensive Flight – Etihad Airways?

Luxury hotels, luxury cars, luxury resort all over the world. All for the rich people of this world. Till now they had everything on the ground. In the air they had the business class but this was only a booth with larger chairs and private service.

But this week things have changed completely, when Etihad Airways launched the “Residence“. What is the “Residence” ?

Located on the upper-deck of the A380, The Residence is the most luxurious of all cabins, comprising a living room, separate double bedroom and en-suite shower. Passengers having the luck – and money – to travel in this class will also have a personal butler.

Designed for up to two guests travelling together, it has been created by leading interior designers and hospitality experts who understand the discernment and sophistication expected by the private traveler.

The Residence is a haven of tranquility, reflecting an exclusive lifestyle that offers the ultimate in high-end luxury.

Living Room: The bedroom in The Residence is decorated with delicate fabrics and furnished with natural fibre mattress double bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and choice of pillows. Experience the ultimate in luxury high above the clouds and wake up to breakfast in bed over an expanse of beautiful skies.

Ensuite Bathroom: A soft-carpeted hallway leads to the ensuite bathroom with shower, exclusive toiletries and bathrobes.

So, how much does it costs one ticket? The first route available for this type of room is from London to Dubai and will start operating from 1 of January 2015. So you can start to book your room because seats are limited.

I have made a simulation and the total price for a round trip London to Dubai with Etihad Airways is 25456.1 Pounds. That is  43112.14 $ or 31139.99. Thats a insane. The flight duration, London to Dubai  is 7 hours and 5 minutes. So you are paying 73 Euro per minute to fly from London to Dubai!

Be careful as well at the cancellation rules of the flight. They are quit strict and can cost you a lot! Of course, we are a millionaire if you are flight it, so it won’t matter to you!

20% of fare value 30 days before dep.
50% of fare value 29-7 days before dep.
75% of fare value 6-3 days before dep.
100% of fare value within 2 days of dep.

I am not sure if its cheaper to by a private charter instead of flying! Me, for sure won’t be able to travel this way. Would be an achievement even the fact that I, someday, will be able to buy a business ticker or a first class one!

But anyway, Etihad Airways still have a lot of flight offers for the normal people, like me!

Only if I win the lottery I can afford such a flight! Not even a business class ticket! But, who knows: a contest by Emirates with this prize!
