Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the U.S. state of Florida may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity became legal in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas on June 26, 2003, and same-sex marriage has been legal in the state since January 6, 2015.
Today, the state of Maryland is regarded as one of the most LGBTfriendly states in the country, with a 2017 Public Religion Research Institute showing that two-thirds of Marylanders supported same-sex marriage. Additionally, a ban on conversion therapy on minors became effective on October 1, 2018.

History comes to life at the Historic Inns of Annapolis. Located in downtown Annapolis, the Historic Inns of Annapolis comprise three unique hotels – each one with a storied past and significant place in American history. Perfect for a family vacation or a business retreat, the inns exude charm and class that have attracted guests for generations. From guest rooms to banquet rooms, we have all the space you need for the ideal getaway!

Colonial atmosphere. The room and bed were very comfortable with modern, updated amenities. Conference facilities were excellent for a workshop. Walking distance to the Naval Academy and numerous restaurants.

The Historic Inns of Annapolis was the perfect place to stay! We upgraded our room to a historic king- a decision with which we were thrilled. The room was large and exquisitely appointed. There were two sinks and a bathroom area that was separated from the bedroom section offering privacy. There was a non-working fireplace and windows that looked out into town- also adding to the charm of the room. The location of the Inns, 3 in all, are right in the middle of downtown- ideal for shopping, dining and visiting the Naval Academy.

We dined at Harry Brown’s which we would also highly recommend! The staff at the Gov. Calvert House was accommodating and pleasant and we had no issues with the valet parking as expressed in other reviews.

I enjoyed my room. It was spacious, nice linens. Only complaint was the shower was a stall I could barely turn around in and I’m on the petite side. The inn, as the location (state circle) is reminiscent of a historical, charming era.

These properties have enviable locations and should be considered an option for any traveler to the area. Close to shops, restaurants, official state buildings and the Naval Academy, we seldom utilized any form of transportation other than our feet.

By definition, these buildings are old and have seen a lot of traffic. We stayed in Calvert House, which I believe to house the front desk for all the options. Our room was spacious and comfortable although there certainly can’t be any uniformity to the shape / size of the rooms. The air handling system was up to the task.

There were banquet facilities in the Calvert House, but no restaurant. I believe the Maryland House houses the Treaty of Paris, which may, or may not, have an official association with HIA.

The hotel has very nice furnishings, and it’s nautical/Naval Academy decor is wonderful. Their beds and bedding are so comfortable. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We always stayed at a Hilton while visiting Annapolis, but this is our new favorite hotel. The location is also a plus, as you can walk downtown easily.

The place has personality, and a sexy atmosphere – while checking in on a Thursday night a Drag Queen Dance night was happening. They have so much going on and the staff is very helpful for anything you may need.

The location is great if you want to walk around to see the sights of Annapolis – but not sure what there is to see in downtown aside from the Naval Academy.

When I walked into the room on the third floor – I was greeted with two beds and several nice warm fuzzy comfy blankets.

The two queen room was comfortable And spacious – large bathroom and high end touches that show their attention to details. The pillows are especially fluffy and soft. So many good things to say..
1. Parking on site at $25/ day
2. Valet as needed
3. Large rooms
4. Coffee / Bagel / Cafe bar in lobby
5. Large meeting space

Newly renovated, the rooms are large and clean. Perfect location, walking distance to all the cute shops and restaurants in town. The staff was super nice. Had a great stay will definitely be back on my next trip to Annapolis.

This is a nice Marriott with amazing views of downtown and Ego Alley/Annapolis Harbor. Be careful to choose a room above the 3rd floor to avoid noise from below. Also a room away to the elevators. My first room was very noisy, but they moved me the next day as the room was perfect. The restaurant and bar, Pussers, is good, it great. But it is easy to walk to a variety of places to eat and drink.
The hotel is right next to Ego Alley and the bustling restaurant/bar/shop scene of Annapolis. Our room was on the second floor and looked out over the water. At times, this made it a little noisy, but it wasn’t too bad. We had a nice balcony with a small table and a couple chairs. The room was clean, artwork nautical, and the bed was comfy. Great location. We took the water taxi to dinner.
