Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the U.S. state of Florida may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity became legal in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas on June 26, 2003, and same-sex marriage has been legal in the state since January 6, 2015.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Massachusetts have the same rights and responsibilities as cisgender heterosexuals. The U.S. state of Massachusetts is one of the most LGBTfriendly states in the country.

My partner and I chose to stay here and we were very pleased. Our large suite on the second floor was very comfortable and homey with a wood burning fireplace. The grounds were nicely landscaped, and the house was warm and inviting. The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff was welcoming and attentive. The innkeeper, Dave, was especially solicitous and helpful.

The Berkshires has very limited accommodations for gays, but we found this Inn to be very friendly and accommodating, and recommend it to everyone.

The ‘Dewey’ room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful. It was a very large room with every amenity. We ate breakfast each morning in our room, in order to distance from others. Breakfast was so delicious and every detail was thought of!

The location of the inn is outside of busy Lenox, but just up the road. A perfect location. We hiked in Kennedy Park (more of a walk than a hike) and enjoyed everything that Lenox had to offer.
We cannot wait to visit the Birchwood again! What a gem.

Debbie and Tom were the most accommodating of innkeepers and made our stay so comfortable and pleasant, starting with upgrading our room because the cable wasn’t working in the room we had originally booked. They provided amazing breakfasts, sensational sweet treats at tea time and beyond, and were on hand for small talk and suggestions as needed.

This is a fairly new hotel and was very nice. It is a very convenient location to see all the sights in Lenox, Stockbridge, Lee and Pittsfield. There is a cafe where you can get meals and also a shop to pick-up things to make in your room with the microwave.
The hotel location is extremely convenient for getting to Tanglewood. Since it is off a major highway, the location is also convenient for getting to other Berkshire attractions.
The location was very convenient to our weekend activities – museums, a little hiking, and just general getting a taste of the Berkshires. There is a full breakfast available (for a price) in the morning, and a bar and limited dinner menu in the evening. (We did not use the area in the evening, but our breakfast was delicious!)
Our room was very large – something I appreciate when you have several sharing a room because it allows a little reading space, a little tv space, etc. I would like to see another chair and/or a little table off to the side for snacks. There was plenty of room for the extra rollaway bed we requested.
We were there in cooler/dampish weather, so did not make use of the fire pit/ outdoor seating, but I bet this is popular in warmer seasons.
The front desk gave us a list of local restaurants and one of the groupings is includes vegan / vegetarian friendly offerings.
We enjoyed spending three nights here in the Berkshires. It was a nice hotel and convenient location to tourist attractions and walking trails. A bonus was a fire pit outside the hotel where you could light the fire and relax. The housekeeping staff was good, right on top of things. We thought the room had an odd layout, and did not like the half shower door because water splashed on the bathroom floor.
But for a place to sleep, it was fine. Our only disappointment was their Bistro. We thought we might actually eat breakfast or dinner there, but the selection was very poor. We ended up finding a good breakfast place right across the street, called On A Roll Cafe. We found good dinner places nearby as well.

Just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Seven Hills Inn in Lenox. Stayed in the Terrace Building which has kitchenettes, which is so beneficial right now. The inn does a good job with health & safety – with PPE at the front desk, grab & go breakfast and no housekeeping during your stay. I would have liked to see hand sanitizer in the room, but luckily we brought with us.
The grounds are beautiful and the public rooms in the Manor House provide a lovely spot for sitting to have coffee in the morning, relaxing in the afternoon or a perfect pre-dinner place for a cocktail. The front desk manager, Kiley, is great – very attentive and helpful. So many outdoor activities in the Berkshires, foliage is gorgeous, wonderful restaurants nearby.
We had a very nice stay at Seven Hills. We stayed in the Carriage House; our room was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable. We loved that the windows in the room opened, and on hotter days, the window A/C unit served us well. There wasn’t a closet so I couldn’t hang up my dresses, and the toilet could have used a more thorough cleaning, but the overall feel of the room was comfortable, contemporary and clean.
They are leanly staffed, but the staff members we interacted with were friendly.
This is a charming, comfortable, classy inn – the price when we stayed over a holiday weekend was unbelievably low. I absolutely recommend.
The inn and grounds are splendid – beautiful sitting and dining room, guest rooms with comfy beds and ample space, manicured grounds perfect for a walk. The location next to Edith Wharton’s beautiful home is great. Staff are also super friendly. The only odd thing is that for certain guest rooms, heat is controlled by a different room so you can’t guarantee your climate. But otherwise it was perfect – clean, refurbished and in great shape. If you’re headed to the Lenox area this is a great place to stay.
