antastic location in a small village with all the amenities, shop, restaurants, cafes and a tourist information office. Very pretty!
Staff are absolutely fantastic, very personal service. We asked for extra ice for our gin, got given a glass of it most times. Drinks menu basic, but generous measures and good local gins. Restaurant selection small, but adequate, and of decent quality.
Rooms a bit scruffy, but clean. Really nice view over village, morning mist over valley was a lovely sight. But they do like the church bells…. one morning we got a good 5 mins rendition of some song, he was going for glory hahaha! But patio doors very sound proof as he starts at 7 in the morning…. walls very thin, like paper.
Location: The hotel is in a good location with excellent views. This region of Slovenia is outstandingly beautiful and scenic. Short walk to bus stops, we were provided by the hotel with a travel card which provided free or discounted travel on the coaches which we used to explore the impressive area and the capital. A hire car would be handy, but we found the coaches fine.
Room: Our room was good, comfy bed and balcony was really great and had a lovely view. Nice bathroom with good, hot shower. Lots of storage and choices of TV/music channels!
Food: We were half board. Food was basic but nice always plentiful and replenished by the chefs. Good selection of fresh fruit and salads, cured meats, cheeses etc. They did provide different vegetable dishes so were options if vegetarian.
We found drinks pricing reasonable compared to other destinations and enjoyed wine tasting one evening.
Staff: All staff we encountered were pleasant, helpful, attentive and spoke excellent English always bidding good morning/evening, no ‘banter’ but we prefer genuine, efficient service which we received here.

Great location. Easy 5-8 minute walk up from entry or boat dock area. Our room balcony was next to forest and setting sun behind trees was peaceful. Comfortable bed but since this is an average construction hotel it is easy to hear the water run in plumbing in nearby rooms! Restaurant food is average but that is ok. I am here for the area beauty not a 5 star hotel and restaurants.
The hotel is the largest and most expensive in the area. It looks and feels like it is in a time warp from the 1960’s, but in a good way. All areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We upgraded to a suite at a cost of €50.00 per night because we found the standard rooms small, and we did not want two beds pushed together.
The dining room was very nice, great wait staff, and the food was very good. The buffet breakfast had hot and cold choices, as well as cakes and pastries. The view from the rooms facing the park are beautiful. This is where the good stuff ends. They do not allow any outside food or beverages into the hotel. Their rules state that you can not use the mini fridge for anything other than the hotel’s alcohol.
We chose to stay at this Hotel because of its location within the Plitvice Lakes park and we only had a short afternoon to see the lakes. For that it was perfect!!
Bear in mind though that it is a 3 star hotel and is rated correctly. If you are after some luxury or flash amenities then you should look elsewhere.
