Search and book Gay and Lesbian friendly hotels Cappadocia, Turkey.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Turkey face some legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT persons. Same-sex sexual activity was legalised in the Ottoman Empire—the predecessor of the modern-day Republic of Turkey—in 1858, and in modern Turkey, homosexual activity has always been a legal act since the day it was founded on 29 October 1923. LGBT people have had the right to seek asylum in Turkey under the Geneva Convention since 1951.

Turkey is not the most liberal county in the world but still it is a place LGBT people can visit comfortably as the tourists resorts like Bodrum and the capital city of Istanbul. Cappadocia and Bodrum are very relaxed and laid back tourists destination for everybody.

Cappadocia, a semi-arid region in central Turkey, is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. Other notables sites include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used as refuges by early Christians. The 100m-deep Ihlara Canyon houses numerous rock-face churches.

Location is on the one of highest hill in Cappadocia. (the Uchisar Castle is very near.) you are able to see all regions. Unfortunately we haven’t seen the balloons due to Covid-19.

The rooms were excellent (big size and extremely clean) and some has a balcony to have the great taste of view… our room had a Turkish Bath which was also amazing…

The breakfast is being prepared freshly and you can taste good variety of Turkish breakfast items

The staffs are very hospitality, warm and ready to help.

If you want a great cave hotel experience in Cappadocia don’t think twice about staying in CCR!!! The hotel is simply amazing, located in the heart of Cappadocia, in Uchisar, just a few meters of its gorgeous castle! It’s one of few properties with a pool in the region and the view is just amazing! The rooms are big with elegant furniture, which turns out to be a fancy stay. Don’t miss out the sunrise in the terrace with all the hundreds of balloons rising up in the panorama with the sun and the relaxing real turkish bath. The breakfast is very good and we had a concierge only for us. I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful hotel, excellent staff service.

The hotel is a little far from the airport, but is located in the Uchisar region and right next to the Uchisar castle. The hotel has a panoramic view of all the places surrounding it as the hotel is situated on a hill.

The room was lovely, designed and inspired with the Cappadocian flair. Early in the morning you can even see the hot air balloons rising!

Food in the hotel was absolutely fantastic, had one of the best meals in Turkey at this hotel! Great staff service too!

The hotel is well equipped with facilities, authentic Turkish spa, indoor and outdoor pool and a gym.

The hotel is also a great place to find peace, as there aren’t a lot of guests around during the day as mostly everyone is off for their day trips (the hotel can help you book all the activities you would want to do)

The hotel is also surrounded with local souvenir shops and tea houses, you could even hike in the valley nearby and stop for a drink there too. You could even have a walk around the local area to experience the Cappadocian hospitality.

CCR is really an amazing hotel to stay with the Uchisar Castle right behind it. The different levels give great view to the valley and rock formations which are a rather unique aspect of Cappadocia. The staff are helpful, kind and the service is really great! You have to try the spa while staying here as you will feel pampered and cared for. The cave rooms are spectacular and being shown around the hotel by Reza was well presented and appreciated.

Unique features of this Hotel are it is an ADULT ONLY venue, ensuring total relaxation and serenity throughout your stay. We have ensured that each Cave has retained its’ original beauty and shape adding only handmade furnishings and decor in keeping with the warmth and colors of typical Turkish life….of course, adding mod-cons to make your stay with us comfortable.

All rooms have a private en-suite, some with a spa or bath. Several areas are available to our guests for a quiet read, catching up with emails or enjoying a quiet drink whilst taking in the outstanding views from our Courtyard Terrace or Roof-top Bar. Private areas for sitting area outside each room and gardens wend their way throughout the Hotel Grounds.

This hotel is excellent in every respect. The rooms (caves) are simply but tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are luxurious. The accommodation is situated around a central, very pretty courtyard, split over several levels giving both light and lovely views. We received a warm welcome from the host, Murat, who was really helpful and friendly, (and speaks excellent English – making direct reservations etc. very easy!).

He arranged a great tour guide for us and recommended a couple of restaurants, both of which were excellent. The breakfasts (taken on a beautiful terrace with amazing views) were imaginative, using fresh ingredients and made extra special by the inclusion of a daily ‘cooked’ dish – prepared and served by a very smiley lady, with Murat on hand to help where needed. Nothing was too much trouble and we truly enjoyed our stay – I can’t rate our experience highly enough, it was a wonderful.

Rooms are simple but have great character with a nice comfortable bed and plenty of space.

Breakfast was delicious and was served on a lovely rooftop terrace.

This is a wonderful hotel. The location is perfect- Ürgüp is quiet, unlike Göreme which is generally noisy in the evenings and bustling at all times. Nice terrace, delicious homemade breakfasts which included really good French press coffee and çay, and a friendly staff. Murat is an amazing host suggesting itineraries for us to follow every day, making sure we were comfortable and had what we needed when we were playing cards in the dining area in the evening.

The Canyon Cave Hotel is so much more than an accommodation with great service; it is synonymous with the Cappadocia experience itself because the hotel host/owner, Murat, sees to it that your visit is complete and meets your wishes. When I arrived at the hotel, Murat took time to chat with me about my preferences and from there recommended tours, mapped out hiking routes, restaurants, and more.

His assistance was so helpful. As soon as I made my booking, he contacted me and offered to assist me with any tours or service I might need arranged. He arranged for me a balloon trip (amazing), a tour of the underground cities (amazing), and shuttle to and from the hotel/airport. I was at the hotel for three days and saw that Murat is attentive to all his guests, making sure that everyone is not only settled, but also able to maximize their time in Cappadocia.

The hotel itself is absolutely perfect. The hotel is small and quaint with a lovely courtyard and an amazing rooftop terrace atop a valley overlooking Urgup and adjacent to cliffs with caves.

My room was spotlessly clean; the bed was comfortable, not too hard, not too soft. The furnishings were beautiful traditional pieces with village carpets on the floors. A very nice design feature to the hotel is that each room opens up into the outdoor courtyard (upper or lower) and has its own little outdoor settee. However, most guests as I did preferred the rooftop terrace for views and ambiance.

I had wanted to do a wine tour in Cappadocia but did not have time. A bonus at Canyon Cave is that a winery is just across the street, and it offers many delicious wines. I explored a few towns in Cappadocia and must say also that Urgup was my favourite: the cave hotels are located on the hillside above the town (and Canyon Cave must have the best view) and it is much less touristy that Goreme and has more amenities than other towns.

I will certainly return to the Canyon Cave if I have an opportunity.

3. Bedrock Cave Hotel 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Goreme Turkey

Bedrock Cave Hotel
Bedrock Cave Hotel

Located in the centre of Cappadocia, Bedrock is a traditional cave hotel in Goreme. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation and knowledgeable staff.

The hotel provides a choice of traditional cave rooms. All rooms have a modern, en suite bathroom. Bedrock Cave Hotel features a spacious terrace, with panoramic views.

The rich buffet breakfast is included. Several churches, monasteries and castles are within walking distance of the hotel.

Hotel details

Built into limestone caves, this casual hotel is 6 km from striking rock formations in Devrent Valley and 2 km from ruined cave monasteries in the Göreme Open Air Museum. It’s 39 km from Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport.

The unpretentious rooms with exposed stone walls offer free Wi-Fi and kilim rugs. Some feature exterior windows. Upgraded rooms add colorful ceilings and sitting areas. There are no TVs.

Amenities include a restaurant, and a terrace with scenic town views. Continental breakfast is available.

The hotel itself consists of 12 such cave rooms and a restaurant, all renovated a year ago with obsessive attention to detail and utter respect for the past. With fantastic breakfasts, friendly English-speaking service. We have a 24 hour reception with a night manager.

he hotel is a quaint little bed and breakfast, central area of cappadocia, good simple breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms. The staff are amazing and so helpful, especially Duygu on reception. Her knowledge of the area and arranging trips and balloon rides is great. Stayed for 4 nights and it was ideal, close to shops and restaurants and the main sights.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for the value of the dollar. Not only was it super cheap to stay here, but the room was spacious and had a divided in-room bathroom, which provided for more privacy. The staff helped me with airport transport from Kayseri for only €10 and with booking a hot air balloon flight with Kapadokya Balloons, one of the many options.

The reception was open late, the Wifi here is strong, and the rooms are awesome. It’s a cave room so no windows, but good lighting and a mini fridge to keep water and food cold. It also had a queen or king sized bed and a couch for a third guest if need be. The shower could literally fit 2 people at once and the bathroom itself was spacious enough for two people to use simultaneously.

They also served free breakfast from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, though it’s a bit weak as they generally serve traditional Turkish breakfast: hard boiled eggs, watermelon, peaches, apples, breads, other fruits, chocolate cake, jams, tomato, lettuce, cereals, coffee, and tea. They did scramble some eggs for me at my request, which was so nice of them. The location is central to town and walkable. It’s close to many restaurants and shops, and walking distance to the Goreme Open Air Museum. I highly recommend a stay here if you’re ever in Goreme. Exceptional hotel with an even more exceptional hotel staff.

Firstly, the hotel provides an authentic olden kind of feeling to its dwellers. The ambience of the hotel created through its cave and stone rooms is only augmented by the stony crisscross alleys of Goreme. The rooms are spacious and contain most comfortable of beds you can imagine. The heating in rooms is sufficient to subdue chilly winter temperatures of Goreme.

The bathrooms are equally spacious and provide round the clock hot water. Cleanliness of both room and bathroom was first-rate. Although we preferred a Stone room over a Cave room and therefore cannot comment if latter would be as roomy and airy as a Stone room.

Breakfast is served at rooftop where if rising up early is possible, you can watch marvelous landscape of region with scores of colorful hot air balloons moving up and down the panorama. Breakfast is traditional Turkish one, quite delicious as well as nutritious, having ample variety of food items for guests to choose from. Location of hotel is merely 5 minutes away from Goreme center, and bus stop where you can find buses to and from Nevsehir and Avanos.

Plus such close proximity to the town center allows many restaurants and souvenir shops to be on walking distance from the hotel.

But the best thing about this Hotel is its team. Ozan, the owner, is a wonderful person. He tries his level best to keep all the guests at ease by taking care of their needs beforehand. Our two day trip to Cappadocia remained exceptional due to his contribution in booking Hot Air Balloon flight and Green Tour for us.

Both of these tours were booked with extremely professional of operators, which made our trip really wonderful. He also had us dropped at Goreme Open Air Museum through hotel car on our first day, as we wanted to visit northern side of Goreme (Red Tour) on our own. All his team (Mehmet and Tural) are reflection of Ozan in their hospitality and politeness.
