The best hotel in the city of Caracas, has a spectacular buffet breakfast every morning, its pool is amazing and large, the food of the pool area is sensational as well as at night on its terrace, a small but exquisite vacation.
Forget all the fabricated news you read about Venezuela. This hotel offers all you need. If you are looking for something close to the airport as a transit stop. This was my second stay and they make it special for you. Nice restaurant, fully equipped gymnasium, relaxing pool, bars, conference facilities.
The rooms I used were very large and offered all you need for your stay.
Definitely one of the best things of this hotel it’s is service. Te personal is very kind and well trained, expected in a 5 star hotel. Restaurant service is excellent, and even thought the food is somewhat common (very safe menus) the service compensates all that. Rooms are nice and clean and specially very quiet, nice for a good night sleep, unless they have parties at the hotel. In overall a good choice to stay in Caracas.
Selected after going through many reviews on the Trip Advisor & elsewhere , I chose this
Hotel &I am happy that I did. A genuine Five Star Hotel which our Taxi driver rated as the very best in town. Chochua area is one of the better & safer areas in Caracas- something which we were to realise on reaching the city.Good & smooth driveway leading to the atrium & reception. Large reception area , pretty busy but efficient . Smooth ! Its a big property & hence needs some navigation & walking to reach your room. Good atmospherics , so no problem.
Large , comfortable , well – appointed room with lovely bathroom. Effective air conditioning , ,safe , hair drier , coffee maker & good view. At least we had lovely view of the mountains , helipad & town from our room. Functioning WIFI but room – card was a perpetual problem.
Room service is excellent. Our room tariff was without breakfast. We ordered breakfast to our room . The service was efficient despite bit of language problem while ordering on the phone. Well presented , well prepared , we were very satisfied . Rates were highly affordable. Perhaps a tad lower than buffet breakfast !
It has a number of restaurants , bars & outdoor eating by the pool side . But its the International bar in the atrium that draws maximum crowd & hence getting a place there is bit of a problem. Same story with pool side open air – restaurant. How ever the other restaurants & gourmet bar wore a deserted look .
Decent shopping arcade , business center & other amenities befitting the Hotel. We were there for only two nights. Getting a city tour organised posed a bit of a problem . Finally we settled for a chauffer driven car which was a good decision. We were advised not to venture on our own. It was a nice days outing at reasonable charge.
I must put a caveat – official exchange rate of Bolivar , the local currency,is almost five time lower than the market rate. So if you pay by card , you pay by official rate. But if you exchange your money( USD ) in the market , you can splurge.

With easy and quick access to the main health and beauty centers, very close to the main theaters and museums of the capital, Government entities and Government Palace.
This is a lovely kept hotel with nice staff that is in the shabbier part of Caracas (La Candelaria). The rooms are very spacious and the beds are firm. The shower has good pressure and the bathroom has toilet paper (which isn’t common in Venezuela).
There is a small outdoor pool and bar up on the terrace, along with a limited gym equipment on the 1st floor.
Upon arrival and seeing the neighbourhood, I felt a slight culture shock. On entering the hotel I was greeted by friendly staff. The majority have a basic grasp of English and a few are fluent. It’s a great opportunity to practice your Spanish.
After a day or so I became more comfortable with the neighbourhood and this was aided by the assistance of the staff.
They organised cabs for us to visit other areas (payment is quite difficult if you don’t have Bolivars or small denomination dollars), and gave us advice on bars to visit and sites to see.
The breakfast buffet was quite limited but there seemed a greater choice for the supper menu (which I didn’t try). There is a lovely restaurant across the road which does reasonably priced Spanish food, It is called the Aquelarre.
I’d have no problem staying here again as the staff and rooms were lovely and there is a city vibe in the surrounding streets (during the day). We went to Altamira one day and the area was less grotty, but it also lacked any vibe.
The rooms are beautifully appointed with all modern facilities and the restaurant downstairs is run efficiently and by a friendly team.
And I must thank in particular the Reception staff all of whom went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in some particularly testing circumstances.
So if you are visiting Caracas I can absolutely recommend this hotel.
It is in the centre of Caracas. The hotel is absolutely amazing in terms of service, friendliness, quality and comfort. The terrace of the hotel is an oasis in the traffic jamming ridden, air polluted, and chaotic city of Caracas. You feel you are hundreds miles away from the city once you are in the terrace. The price is average and low given the comfort, service and reliability.
The entire experience was wonderful, from the friendly service on entering, the extra care to breach any language barriers and provide us what we needed. The hotel itself is quite new, having only opened its doors a couple months ago, so everything was shiny and brand new, from the comfortable beds.
Beautifully furnished bedrooms and bathrooms with all amenities for the weary traveller who may have forgotten a basic item or two. Everything in the building was modern whilst remaining classy and beautiful. They also have a restaurant in house which was open till 10.00 pm. The food was good, tasty… a little wait though. The price is very good for both the room and at the restaurant. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Our flagship property, The Lidotel Hotel Centro Lido, is a 5-star property that offers discerning travelers a welcoming place to stay while in Caracas. Tastefully decorated in a classic European decor this centrally located hotel offers many amenities not easily found at other hotels within the city such as our Signature Lidotel Royal Beds, spacious accommodations, a full-service spa and the largest, most modern fitness center featuring state-of-the-art cardio and workout equipment.
All of our guestrooms and suites feature a work desk with lamp, complimentary wireless internet access, large marble bathrooms and upscale amenities to name a few
The rooms were big, had fresh flowers, chocolate by our pillows, a great view and WIFI. We enjoyed the food there a lot. Their breakfast was buffet style but we also ordered a la carte. We felt very spoiled by Lidotel. The hotel staff made us feel very comfortable and at home.
We appreciated the reception kindness and helpful tips regarding the city, and in general the whole staff, doormen, housekeeping, etc. They took care of us. The hotel’s terrific location (by the mall) was definitely a plus.
The hotel is very well located. Subway is about 5 – 10 min walking from hotel. Taxi service is very good. Easy to reserve a taxi. Considering the actual situation in Caracas, this hotel is offering a very safe stay. Mercantil Bank is a block away and Shopping Mall is just behind with a exclusive door for who is staying at the Lido Hotel. There is a cinema at the shopping Mall which is a really good option for any evening. Breakfast is ok but it would be repetitive if you are staying for more than a couple of day. WIFI works very good.
The Hotel its pretty good, everything clear and have a huge gym and spa. The breakfast could be better, but for a morning meal, it’s perfect.
The restaurant its pretty cheap if you are not from Venezuela, otherwise its quite expensive, but also there are good restaurant outside.
Unfortunately outside isn’t so safe, but the hotel offer a good infrastructure to be inside. The reception it’s very friendly and can understand English well. The laundry service its good and cheap, so if you are a traveler let you clothes to what there.
By local standards I would say that the rooms are extremely comfortable. The lobby is dated and the the strange lobby performer with the electric guitar and music machine needs to go (it is way too loud and seems like a movie parody). With that said, the rooms are nice, the gym is great, and by local standards that makes this hotel the best I have been to.
Rooms are HUGE!!!, beds are cozy, every room has a delightful decoration and you can count in an ice cold A/C when you want it. Breakfast is from another world!! Restaurant in general has one of the best views in the city and one of the best food also.
This is the ONLY PLACE in Caracas where you can just go down stairs and find whatever you need without leaving the hotel property, that in Caracas is PRICELESS.
Gym is absolutely amazing, haven’t seen one not even close to this in the US.
This hotel is an excellent choice for business and leisure travelers. I’ve been traveling to Caracas (and many parts of Latin America) for many years and have stayed in various hotels – the Lido hotel is by far the best option. I always stay there. It’s located in a safe area with restaurants at very short distances. Also locals recognize the area so it’s simple to coordinate meetings. Also, the hotel has a great breakfast on their restaurant located on the top floor, which provides a great view of Caracas. You can choose to eat light or have the delicious typical Venezuelan “arepas”…whatever you want, they have.
The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The hotel management is the best. The rooms are large and clean. The air conditioning always works perfectly and the wifi coverage and speed is effective. The gym is one of the best I’ve seen in Latin America. GREAT setup, lots of equipment, and a trainer on staff.
For your security in Caracas, do not take taxis unless provided by the hotel (or restaurant). If you do not have a trusted transportation provider, the Lido hotel has many authorized taxis; you want to be sure to only use them. Also, avoid or minimize the amount of visible jewelry and electronics. It would be best to not walk the streets in the evening unless you are in a very large group or are absolutely sure of where you are going
