Rooms basic and functional with plenty of parking both at the front and the rear of the hotel. Also there were chairs and loungers to sit on outside in glorious weather that we had. A conservatory addition to eat breakfast was nice.
The hotel is within easy walking of the old town. Breakfast basic but adequate.
The hotel was ideally located and easy to get to with great parking. The receptionist was lovely, quick check in. The room was quite small but we only shower and sleep in it so it didn’t matter. The shower was amazing as was the comfortable bed. Breakfast we paid extra for and was lovely. Lots to choose from. We would stay again if ever travelling near here.
A lot of 4/5 star places could learn a lot about true kindness from staff. Everybody is soooo nice, always asking if we enjoyed a good night’s sleep! We planned one night but eventually stayed 4 days. Okay, maybe the rooms aren’t that big but everything was nice and clean. It’s about 1.7 km walk to the beautiful city centre: a nice ‘after-restaurant-walk’.
The breakfast is perfect for this friendly price and there’s always enough private parking place.
The location at the busy road wasn’t a problem since we had rooms 12/14 on the ground floor at the backside. Beds might be small for couples though.
We’ll definitely be back.
Really great location. It was super easy to get into the center of the city. Grab a map of the city from the front desk and they can give you walking directions to the center. Free parking is available at the hotel.
The room was really small. But everything we needed was there.
This is a small and simple hotel well located near the old town of Colmar and a perfect place to go to the Alsace`s route of wine. The room seemed to be recently remodeled, it was small but clean, and comfortable and silent. The breakfast was complete with fruits, yogurt, cereals, coffee, milk and breads. The service was nice.

The hotel located in the center of Colmar, and only few minutes walk to city attractions, restaurants, bars and shopping street. Hotel is well decorated. Room is very nice and clean, bed is comfortable with living space, bathroom and toilet are separate.Receptionist are friendly and welcoming.
The city center is about 200m away only and certainly worth a visit! The room we got was really modern, fully equipped (including coffee/tea, fridge), nice sofa, and bathroom with bath and shower.
This was all in line with the standards I am expecting from the Novotel brand.
Great rooms, walking distance to town center. Very good breakfast, attentive staff. Parking in the hotel basement. Close by to the main highway for short trips to the wine road towns and museums outside Colmar.
This hotel is only a few hundred metres from the old centre of Colmar so very convenient when visiting this beautiful town. It is a modern and fairly new hotel, well furnished, with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel serves a very good buffet breakfast but doesn’t have a restaurant for dinner – but there are numerous restaurants in the old town within ten minutes walk.
The location is good, just a 5-10 minute walk to the old town. As another reviewer posted, there’s a lovely bakery next door to the hotel.
Check-in was a easy! The very friendly staff had our keys ready on arrival, and there were self-service luggage carts available for use at the hotel entry. All hotels should do this!
The hotel has two swift lifts. We never waited long.
Our room was large and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. The bed was very comfortable and had all non-feather pillows–great for allergy sufferers! Unfortunately, there was only a power outlet on one side of the bed–NOT good for when two people need to charge phones and devices at beside. A simple power hub on the other side of the bed would solve this problem. Unfortunately, the carpet in our room had some deep stains; hotels should switch to wood floors, which are easier to clean and much more healthy.
Our room had a separate water closet & sink near the entry. There was also a small bar sink in the room, and a closet with microwave, minifridge, teakettle, and coffeemaker.
The bathroom had a huge shower and separate tub, as well as a sink. The counter space was enough for two people. The shower water pressure was good and the hot water stayed hot. The towels were thin, and most had stains, which was off-putting. There was no mold in the shower or tub–great job, housekeeping! There was a hairdryer under the sink and a magnifying mirror on the wall, which is always a nice touch!
The hotel has parking (for a charge) in their underground garage, which was convenient. The free WiFi worked well but wasn’t password protected, unfortunately.
Despite the few issues, I would happily stay here again the next time I’m in the area.
The hotel was in great location, within 5 mins from the Petit Venise. It was also very close to restaurants and souvenir shops. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It was well-equipped with microwave (wow), in-room mini-bar and pantry. The bathroom was in good size, with shower and a tub. however, I did not like the way they seperate the powder room and the shower/bathroom, though. Breakfast was nice. Since Strasbourg was only 1-hour away from Colmar, I would have booked Novotel Colmar for two nights instead of staying in Strasbourg and Colmar , one night in each city because the hotel in Strasbourg was much more expensive. Overall experience here at Novotel Colmar was great. highly recommended.

Enjoy your stay in Colmar!
The rooms are new and clean. The bathroom had a nice glass shower. There was nothing wrong with the room but there was nothing particularly exciting about it either. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine but skipped the overpriced breakfast. Overall this was a good stay and was the best property for us as we were looking for a clean modern hotel with new rooms and bathrooms, easy parking, moderate price range, and walking distance to the Christmas markets. All boxes were checked.
The structure is recent, well kept, very clean and spacious. The service at the reception is really very welcoming and kind. The possibility of being very close to the city center (10 minutes walk to the central square) but at the same time having the space to park and the proximity to the main streets of the city is excellent.
I appreciated the organization of the breakfast in time slots so as not to create crowding, but I found the cost of the buffet too expensive, for what is really offered. To improve the comfort in the room, the soundproofing is really poor and you can hear too much street noise.
This is a lovely small, modern hotel that is just a short walk from the old town. The staff are welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble for them. We had a classic double room, which was spotless and spacious. Unexpectedly this came with a small balcony which was big enough for a small table and two chairs, this was a great surprise for us as we are smokers.
Breakfast was an excellent buffet, with some hot foods and certainly filled us up ahead of the long journey back to Calais. There is parking next door, it’s public, but behind a barrier, cost is 10 Euros. We only stayed one night, but this is a place that is definitely on our to return to list.
What a wonderful stay we had at this hotel in Colmar! It is a new boutique very nicely decorated and well located in the middle of the city in walking distance to all your principal attractions and restaurants. We were greeted by very nice ladies at reception, registered us promptly and showed us to our room. The room was on the 5th floor, nicely decorated with a large bathroom, not to much space for waling around, but that is not important.
The bed was wonderful and the TV set very good. We rented a car and were provided with parking nearby. It is very reasonable priced at under 200 euros a night, including breakfast, which was an excellent buffet for a complete breakfast. We felt very good and highly recommend this hotel.
Firstly, the staff are charming and cannot do enough for you. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and beds and bedding are so comfortable. There are a limited number of rooms with baths so you need to specify when you book if you need one. The bar and lounge area is extremely cosy and inviting, we took a coffee and cognac beside the fire at the end of the evening. The location to walk into the main town is perfect, it takes about two minutes. The position of the hotel doesn’t look good on a Google maps street view as there is undeveloped scrub land immediately opposite. That land currently means the hotel can offer you free parking, so not such a problem. Clearly eventually that will be built on and hopefully improve the outlook.
If you are going for the Christmas markets you need to book your restaurant in advance for dinner as it’s so busy. We had a wonderful dinner at the Maison Rogue recommend and booked by the <span class=”_3f5ztoLj”>hotel. (We were lucky to get in).
Your other option would be to eat at the ‘chef’s market’, stood at tables, but the atmosphere and food are great.
If we have reason to return to Colmar we would definitely stay at the James Boutique Hotel again.
