Other delectable delights: the luxurious and panoramic T Spa, offering exclusive ESPA treatments, the super private T Spa Suite, three pools – including one that floats on the lake! – And a private beach, private tours in the hotel’s period Venetian motor launch, and over 5 acres of lush secular park incorporating a panoramic path, a floodlit clay tennis court, fitness and sauna.
This hotel is amazing. It is an old style hotel (Traditional) with a modern slant. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is adequate with lovely smelling toiletries, bath robes and slippers. Breakfast is fabulous, so grand with is very own table display of delicious hand made chocolates.
The pool Area is immaculate with wonderful views of spectacular gardens full of hydrangeas, palm trees covered with sweet smelling Jasmine growing up them. There is a very nice area next to the pool Where you can order cocktails and amazing clay oven baked pizzas. There are also views of the lake ( breathtaking). Across the road opposite the hotel is the hotels beach club, with a floating pool ?. The bar serves great cocktails ?
The location is obviously stunning, but lives up to its hype. The convenience of the ferry stops is helpful. The hotel is expensive but really delivers an outstanding experience. Although it’s a final Italian style of hotel, there is a mix of casual areas and the staff combine professionalism with a friendly manner.
The boat cruise is also highly recommended one on of the hotel’s own Venetian motor launches.
The staff was welcoming, the public spaces elegant and airy, and the setting on the edge of Lake Como stunning. We had a “Park View Deluxe” room, which we were quite happy with. The “upgrade” offered to us facing Lake Como was a much smaller bedroom and bathroom and not as nice, other than the view of the lake, so we declined it.
Our “Park View” room faced the green hillside and gardens behind the hotel and I suspect was much quieter. What isn’t apparent in the photos of the hotel is that a road runs between the entrance to the hotel and the floating pool/beach area on the lake, and it has light but steady traffic in the morning. Facing the back of the hotel, we woke every morning to the sound of birds. Our room had a large comfortable sitting area, an upholstered bay window seat, a huge tub and separate walk-in shower in the green marble-tiled bathroom, and a dressing area with built-in drawers and plenty of room to hang clothes.
Breakfast is served overlooking Lake Como on La Terrazza, the appropriately named terrace restaurant, with Hermes-orange awnings and boxes of spice-scented carnations hanging off the wrought-iron balustrade. The buffet is extensive and all you would expect at a five–star hotel. I loved the many kinds of honey offered! The maitre d’ and waitstaff couldn’t have been nicer. In the evening the restaurant is transformed into a romantic candlelit space.
The location and the view of the lake from the hotel is magnificent
The hotel property is beautiful and facilities are almost perfect as a resort hotel – 3 pools of which 1 heated indoor, 1 outdoor heated and 1 floating pool above the lake, and tennis court, can also walk up to Belvedere Bobo a brief track. Spa is nice too. La Terrazza tasting menu is a must try. Wine bar is also a nice casual dining outlet.

2. Essentia Guest House 4* – Gay Friendly Hotels Lake Como

Located in Faggeto Lario, 41 km from Varese, Essentia Guest House provides a restaurant and free WiFi.
Fitted with a patio, the units feature a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with hot tub and free toiletries.
Guests at the bed and breakfast can enjoy a continental breakfast.
Essentia Guest House offers its guests two lake-view suites and a double room in one of the most original locations of Lake Como. The unique panorama of the property, the on-site restaurant and the outdoor hot tub will complement the customer’s experience. There is also a free shuttle service from the Molina Faggeto Lario car park to the guest house (800m for 5min travel) as access to the medieval village is reserved for residents only, also because of very narrow streets. Transportation is free and available 24/7. Essentia Guest House is 7km from Como, 44km from Milan and 23km from Lugano.
Essentia Guest House might just be the most beautiful place in Italy! The views are exactly like the pictures – each one more breathtaking than the last. Gianluca and Maya are incredible hosts. They run the perfect inn – the rooms are modern, clean, fresh, and welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious, and the rides up and down the mountain through the very narrow streets were so much fun!
The room was nice, clean and spacious. The estate has many places to relax. We have used the jacuzzi and enjoyed the extraordinary view on Lake Como. The offered breakfast and dinner were very tasteful, many compliments to Maja for making such delicious food (and taking allergies into consideration)!
Perfect place for a relaxing vacation of a couple. The three main advantages, but not the only ones, are: view, host and atmosphere. The location is idyllic, some people could find it a bit far from more urbanized areas, but for us this is one of the pros not cons. Our junior suite was specious, big and cosy, well decorated and with very comfortable bed.The view of Lake Como is stunning during the day, as well as at night with all the lights below. We found the closest village Molina di Faggeto Lario very charming with the tiny medieval streets and stone houses. The local restaurant Tipi Tipici is good option to eat.
The only think I would recommend to the potential future guests is to check carefully all information regarding the location and to be sure that this is what they are looking for. If it is your kind of vacation, you won’t be disappointed. Molina is connected by a bus with Como, but if you expect that you will be very flexible in means of transport, maybe you are wrong. We came by rented car, but it is a little bit tricky with all the narrow streets in the whole region. Have in mind that the area is not recommended for inexperienced drivers.

Hotel is in a beautiful spot, but equally a little isolated from other parts of the lake.
The amenities are incredible – we arrived in our room with thoughtful baked goods and local treats for our children. There was a popcorn machine in our room, which our kids loved. They think of the littlest details – like provided a cord wrap for our charger and mini slippers for our two girls (aged 7 and 9). Since our room was somewhat far from the lobby, there was quick access to golf carts.
The outdoor pool, which is floating on the lake is quite a beautiful and unique feature of the hotel – you feel as though you’re swimming in the lake. Although we didn’t use the spa, we peeked in to the spa facilities and saw a very dark, sexy, cavernous-like space filled with a variety of steam, sauna rooms that looked super romantic.
The food at the hotel far surpassed the other meals that we had in the area (Bellagio, etc.). They can accommodate you in almost any way (I like to be healthy and they were able to create unique dishes just for me), and always with a smile. The caprese salad is a must!
I have never stayed in such a cavernous and beautiful hotel room and the views are to die for. Up high in the cliff overlooking the hotel we had a suite which was so grand and so marvellous. The bed was the size of an aircraft carrier and just perfect.
The spa is without doubt worth every penny. Treatments are expensive but they are also of an unrivalled standard. And the facilities in the spa are extremely sumptuous and mesmerising.
The sense of arrival and beauty of this property are extraordinary. The park and gardens are stunning and the proximity and view on the lake are beyond anything. We just spend 3 days chilling out with fantastic service and in a beautiful setting – total bliss.
Breakfast was really good. They have a full bee honeycomb that you can cut bits off. That was amazing!
We had a lake view suite which certainly lived up to its name, the views over the lake were spectacular! The bed was signature Mandarin and could have lay in it all day just looking at the view. The mini bar is complimentary ( not alcohol) but a number of soft drink, freshly squeezed juices and waters were available which is all locally produced.
Nespresso machine and kettles were all in the room however no milk, I am sure if you called they would bring some.
The bathroom was great with a double bath and shower, but for some reason the radiators were on full and I couldn’t get them off so was like a mini sauna.
In all the hotel was amazing, the Mandarin have done it again and created one of the worlds best hotels in an amazing setting. If your looking to stay in the lakes I wouldn’t look anywhere else, an amazing stay and I can’t wait to get back.

Extremely clean, quiet, air conditioned rooms, a great continental breakfast and the most friendliest of staff. 200 yards from Como Lago Nord and the same distance to the lake. Very easy transfer from Milano Malpensa Airport to Saronno and then a change straight to Como.
This small hotel combines a lot of virtues. Decent rooms very well equipped, parking space in a place were a parking spot equals gold, only a few meters away from the lake, the bus stop, the pier, the funicular, and.. you name it! Offers f a n t a s t i c breakfast with high quality and wide variety food, Wifi signal (my room was on the second floor) was strong and uninterrupted.Lots of security cams and doors that make you feel safe. But on top of everything was the manager who would happily go the extra mile to help you enjoy your staying and also to utilize your time around the lake. All the rooms are spacious, clean and nicely maintained. Breakfast was simple and filling, just across the street on the busy piazza. The RC staff was so helpful with many suggestions for our stay.
Breakfast was at a restaurant nearby, using coupons for a basic continental breakfast. You could pay extra for added items to eat. 2 minute walk to the ferry. The rooms were in an excellent location.
