Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the U.S. state of Florida may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity became legal in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas on June 26, 2003, and same-sex marriage has been legal in the state since January 6, 2015.
The Florida cities were all highlighted for their year-round sunshine and lack of state income tax. Wilton Manors, Fort Lauderdale, Naples Florida, Miami Beach and Delray Beach ranked among the most-demand gayfriendly cities for LGBTQ travelers during the holidays.
Delray Beach has a long history of being a  gay friendly town and in downtown we can find a few gay friendly bars as well as Honey Delray or Kavasutra Kava Bar – Delray Beach are the most famous gay friendly bars in Delray Beach, FL.
Delray Beach is a small city on Florida’s southeast coast. The Pineapple Grove Arts District is dotted with public art and galleries. Nearby, Cornell Art Museum displays contemporary works. The hotel room was large, clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location is great, off the strip so quiet, but could walk to many shopsrestaurants, and the beach. There was a farmers market in the park close to the hotel that was a fun event.

Half a block from the main drag on Atlantic Avenue NE; convenient and perfect to take in the many restaurants and shops offered by Delray; it’s hard though to get past El Camino – the freshest, most authentic Mexican fare outside of Mexico; fabulous skinny Margaritas; brilliant guacamole and more!

The front desk staff and valet were friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and I am very particular. The lobby area including the bar had a lot of seating and it was a fun, inviting area to relax and sit.

The location was great, walking distance to shopsrestaurants, Johnnie Browns. A little far from the beach walking distance wise but a nice walk nevertheless. Will definitely be back. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were modern and in great condition.

This hotel was in a perfect location and half the price of surrounding hotels. We usually stay at the more expensive hotel, but this will be our new spot. The location can’t be beat. So close to all the great restaurants and shops and a short walk to the beach. Also, we opted for the free breakfast package every morning and it was totally worth it. Great selection of food and a nice dining atmosphere.

The rooms are comfortable, clean and the hotel well maintained and the reception staff friendly and efficient.

Safety deposit boxes are available (none in rooms) behind reception on request.

The location is great with bars, restaurants and shops all within a 5 minute walk.

Should you need to go down to the beach, there is a trolley bus (free) that runs every 20 minutes at the top of the road on W Atlantic Ave.

Breakfast:

It is wonderful to note that Hyatt actually have REAL cutlery and crockery and have done away with the awful plastic stuff. Well done Hyatt in your attempts to “save the planet”….every bit counts!!!

It turned out to be a perfect location, just steps to restaurants and shops, and a block to the busy W. Atlantic Ave. heart of town. Walkable to the beach in about 15 minutes as well. Even at nearly full capacity, the hotel was quiet and the staff very attentive.

The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was well prepared, with lots of variety and both hot and cold foods. This is a gem if you’re not looking for a beach hotel but want to be a short stroll to dining and nightlife.

This was our 3rd consecutive year that we vacationed at the Delray Sands Resort, and we’re running out of superlatives. Fabulous location directly on the beach. Unfailingly friendly staff. Excellent service at both the pool and the beach, with plenty of chairs, umbrellas and towels (no getting up early to claim your spot, like in so many other hotels).

Absolutely delicious cuisine, with lunches that can be served to you on the beach at your lounge chair. Breakfasts outdoors where the patio meets the sand are extremely pleasant. Overall relaxed vibe, unlike so many other larger hotels in South <span class=”_3f5ztoLj”>Florida. No room is more than a 2 or 3 minute walk from the pool and the sand. Definitely the type of property to come to chill out.

The hotel is at an excellent beachfront location in the middle of a quiet strip of Highland Beach, away from the bustle and traffic of much of South Florida. The hotel itself if beautifully appointed with many rooms featuring a view of both the pool area and the beach/ocean.

Unpretentious boutique property. What really sets it apart though is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, as well as the excellent food service. The restaurant is wonderful whether it be for breakfast, lunch (which can also be served to you right on the sand as you laze on the beach) or dinner, and is in fact a destination restaurant for the area that attracts much more than just hotel guests. Thank you again to the whole team for making our return visit so special.

This hotel has good service, great food in its restaurant, and ocean front views. It is located in Highland Beach, Florida which is in my view the nicest beachfront town in Florida. Highland Beach is only a mile or two long and runs right along A1A and the ocean and the Intracoastal. Highland Beach is located between Boca Raton to the south, and Delray Beach to the north.

This is the only hotel in Highland Beach. All other hotels in the area are in Boca Raton or Delray Beach. By staying here, you are in a quiet beachfront town, yet close to the action in Delray Beach or Boca Raton. You can’t go wrong staying in Highland Beach. Go for a run or walk on the beach or on the sidewalk on A1A. And there are several parks within a short distance. Highland Beach is the best place to live or visit in Florida.

3. Crane’s Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas 3* LGBT Friendly Hotels Delray Beach Florida

Crane's Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas
Crane’s Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas

This non-smoking Delray Beach hotel features 2 salt-water pools and rooms equipped with free WiFi. It is just 2 minutes’ walk from the sandy beaches of Florida.

A microwave, refrigerator, and coffee machine come standard in each room at Crane’s Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas. A flat-screen cable TV with HD and premium channels is included. The private bathroom is complete with a hairdryer and free toiletries.

After exploring the surroundings, guests can return to Crane’s Beach House for drink at the on-site tiki bar. Other offerings include barbecue facilities and free parking.

A minute’s walk from the beach, this relaxed, tropical-themed hotel surrounded by palm trees is 8 miles from the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, and a 2-minute walk from trendy Atlantic Avenue.

The bright, island-influenced studios with rattan furnishings and wood floors offer free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus kitchenettes or full kitchens, and patios or balconies. The 1- and 2-bedroom suites, and contemporary villas add living rooms.

Continental breakfast and parking are complimentary. There are 2 outdoor saltwater pools with a cocktail bar that features live music.

Offering an incredible Key West-like experience just one block away from the Atlantic Ocean, Crane’s Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas is a fun and festive hotel with 28 distinctive and luxurious guest suites all nestled within a lush tropical setting.
This creates a tranquil environment even though the hotel is just steps away from the shops and restaurants along Delray Beach’s hot and happening Atlantic Avenue. The poolside Tiki Bar is stocked with an array of tropical drinks, signature sangria, wines, and both domestic and imported beer, from 5 – 9pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Crane’s Beach House Hotel is pleased to provide it’s guests with a smoke-free environment.
Perfect little paradise. It’s a paved sub-tropical walk amongst 28 villas and studios. A continental breakfast brings guests together under one of two tiki huts to chat or relax. It’s only one block from the beach, or up two blocks to Atlantic Avenue. The staff is only too accommodating and kind. I just hope there will be a reservation for us the next time.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Crane’s Beach House, opting for the charm of a unique and intimate boutique hotel over a predictable big box hotel chain. When I stepped through their entry gate, I knew I’d made the right choice – the beautiful lush landscaping and tropical ambiance of their gardens immediately put me into vacation mode! Walking by the pool, the sound of the waterfall made me feel like I’d entered a tropical paradise!

My hotel room was big, clean, and beautiful. With a bedroom, living room, and full kitchen, I never felt claustrophobic. In fact, it was as nice and relaxing as the grounds and pools were. The staff was warm, friendly, and full of smiles, always making me feel at home. Throughout my stay, they were eager to do whatever they could to make my time there most enjoyable.

Crane’s is located about a half block off of busy Atlantic Avenue, the main street, which is perfect. It’s just a minute’s walk to the action and nightlife, but because it’s set off the Avenue, the grounds are quiet and serene, and sitting by the pool can be very relaxing without the sounds of cars and trucks driving by. It’s also just a block from the beach, so the stroll down the quiet residential street that takes you there is also quite enjoyable.

If you are looking for a beautiful place to de-stress and relax, or a place to enjoy a quiet romantic getaway, I highly recommend Cranes Beach House! You won’t be disappointed.

The pool was private and not crowded at all. There is limited seating but very cozy. I’m not a fan of the sand area where the chairs are but that’s a personal preference. There are 2 pools but this is the only one we visited.
Our room was wonderful but the couch (which is also a sleeper) is not comfortable to relax on. That is the only negative of the entire room. We stayed 2 nights 3 days and just really loved the room.
The housekeeping staff was beyond excellent. They were so kind and came at the perfect time. The front desk crew was welcoming and attentive.
Above all the location vs. price cannot and I repeat cannot be beat!!! I compared this key west style resort with numerous Airbnb and hotels and Cranes had the best prices with better amenities and rooms.
