Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in Doha Qatar (2023 Updated)

Doha is a holiday paradise for shopping and night & night life activities. Most of  Gay Friendly Hotels Doha are the foreigner chain hotels present in this tiny emirate.

Qatar is not very gay friendly at all when it’s comes to law,  lacking any comprehensive pro LGBT legislation. But despite this, Dubai can be the perfect holiday for gay couples !Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights are heavily suppressed in the emirates of Qatar.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Qatar face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar, with a punishment of up to 3 years in prison and a fine for consenting males, and could lead to the death penalty for Muslims under sharia law; however, there are no known cases that the death penalty was enforced for homosexuality.

Doha is the capital and most populous city of the State of Qatar. It has a population of 956,460. The city is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf in the east of the country, North of Al Wakrah and South of Al Khor

This contemporary Doha hotel is near the Corniche, the banking district, the port, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Emiri Diwan Palace – the government seat of Qatar -making it an ideal base for business and leisure travelers.
The rooms had large and nice bathrooms and they had high speed wi-fi. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of dishes. The location is fine, not far from the old town, and close to Museum of Islamic art, the National Museum, the Souk Waqif and the Corniche. Most outstanding of all, was the service of all the employees at the hotel. They were so helpful in any way, and they spoke very well English. The pool area was however not so easy to get to, because it was in the middle of the roof-top area surrounded with at bar.
Located within walking distance of National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art and Souq Waqif the hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are big with the most comfortable bed of any hotel, the biggest surprise was the rain shower. For a good sleep get a room on the lower floors as there is a nightclub/bar on the top floor that is popular with loud music. I was in room 412. The gym is well equipped and well air conditioned.
The only downside to this hotel is the pool which is situated in the bar that smells of smoke for the cigarettes.
The bathroom had a rainshower shower head in the ceiling, which was a great touch. The gym is much larger than typical hotel gyms and all the equipment I used was in good working order. Though I didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant due to my early departure, the staff was nice enough to have a pre-arranged “to go” box ready for me at my departure hour of 03:45.
The food was of excellent quality; eggs, croissant, cinnamon roll, and assorted fruit. The hotel is located one block from Doha’s signature running/walking route, the Cornice Promenade, along the gulf. The route starts one block from the hotel near the Museum of Islamic Art and has great views of the the gulf and Doha skyline. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends and family.

I would like to thank all the team at the Doubletree by Hilton for their excellent service and fantastic hospitality.

The hotel is very clean and spacious with good food options at both the Claw restaurant and the hotel main restaurant.

This is an excellent hotel near Doha Old Town and within easy walking distance of the old Souk which has a marvellous range of shopping and eating options..
Rooms – the rooms are clean and well equipped. The bedding and comfort is of a high quality. If you are sensitive to noise then I suggest that you mention this to staff when you are checking in. Avoid rooms directly below the nightclub on the top floor and rooms above main entrance/exit. Otherwise, the rooms are lovely.
Staff – with the exception of the staff in the Crab Claw, all staff are attentive, very friendly, professional and superb.
Breakfast – is excellent. There is a good range of different foods to suit every taste. My favourites tended to be – fresh fruits, freshly prepared fruit juices, coffee freshly made to your requirements, asian/indian style dishes, and fresh eggs prepared exactly to order.
Tips – if you are sensitive to noise, do ensure that you ask for a quiet room when booking or checking in to ensure that you get a quiet room. When looking for somewhere to eat, do explore the nearby souk (about 20 minutes walk away), which has a wide range of eating and shopping options, mostly at reasonable prices.

2. The St. Regis Doha 5* – Gay Friendly Hotels Qatar Doha

The St. Regis Doha

The spacious, modern suites at the St. Regis Doha include a 42-inch flat-screen TV and an iPod docking station. The bathroom is stocked with Remède toiletries and comes with a deep soaking tub and a separate rain shower.

The hotel offers valet parking, a concierge, and a 24 hour butler service. Guests can enjoy a relaxing massage at the Remède spa and wellness centre. A fitness centre and sauna are also available.

Located on the shores of Doha’s glittering West Bay, the St. Regis Doha is a five-star luxury hotel with 336 guest rooms including 70 seductive suites, aiming to set new standards of luxury service & excellence with the signature St. Regis Butler Service. The hotel introduces a collection of ten signature restaurants & bars, extensive recreation facilities including world-acclaimed Remède Spa. The St. Regis Doha is the finest address for leisure & business travelers in Doha.

Outside the hotel, Doha is a BEAUTIFUL,CLEAN city, with the most humblest/respectful/kindest natives (possibly the best of the whole Gulf) and quite a bit to do. When visiting Doha, apart from their immaculate beaches and malls (Villagio Mall is a must see where you can get a gondola ride down an indoor canal that will take you to Venice minus the odour, literally), make sure to visit Qatara Cultural Village (where the best of events are held in Doha/antiques auction house/falcon house/restaurants and plenty more), Souq Waqif (a gorgeous traditional-style market place full of souvenirs/antiques/restaurants and even traditional music band that play traditional instruments and sing traditional songs in the evenings where everyone gathers around and joins in), Museum of Islamic Art, Doha Corniche (where you can get a ride in a traditional sail boat at sunset), The Pearl Qatar (restaurants/bowling etc), National Museum of Qatar, and so on.

The rooms are clean, and the service is exceptional. Location is convenient to go to Katara, the Pearl and city center.

The hotel also has a ton of great restaurants, my favorite was the friday brunch or Vine’s seafood night. Hakkasan’s brunch is also good for some variety if the regular brunch tires you out.

The deluxe rooms are wonderful, great bathroom amenities and very clean. The beds are super comfortable you just want to sink in them all day. The food is delicious and there is a wonderful variety at the breakfast buffet everyday. The chefs at the Regis Doha are excellent even at the restaurants like Astor Grill.

The staff and service we feel are the best part of the hotel. They were all attentive, friendly and very helpful always with a smile. We also had the butler service available for us and they were just great. They went out of their way to make our celebrations memorable and always with a smile.

The St Regis has probably the best staff I have ever seen in an hotel.

I have been relying on them quite a lot for things such as: private dining and restaurants, organizing activities during the weekend, transportation, laundry.

They are always available, friendly, skilled, always there to assist. I must say they make me feel at home with thoughtful gestures such as surprising me with cake on my birthday, personalized postcards or towel animals.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious, there is a pillow menu to pick what best suits you. Swimming Pool is beautiful and apparently the biggest in Doha!

The location is extremely convenient, you can walk to Katara cultural village for having dinner, walking along the beautiful beach or going to the opera house.

The brand new subway station is a 5min walk, it can bring you directly to the city center in no time. There is a wide selection of luxury restaurants both inside the hotel and right outside in the surrounding hotels: cantonese, lebanese, turkish, mexican, peruvian, grill…

I have been to many hotels over the last few years, the St Regis definitely stands out as one of the best.

A buffet breakfast is available daily at the property. Guests can grab a bite to eat in the on-site restaurant, which specialises in International cuisine.

The Al Najada Doha Hotel by Tivoli is a new and exciting architectural feat, boasting one-of-a-kind surroundings and a sumptuous modern design. Located in the heart of central Souq Al Najada, next to the historic marketplace Souq Waqif, the property is a tranquil oasis in energetic Doha, overlooking the exotic surrounds of a large elegant piazza and the glistening Arabian Gulf.

Amazing Value for this luxurious hotel. This was a perfect location right next to the Souq Waqif. Check in was fast & easy. Room was very spacious & the bed was heaven!!! We have travel many countries in 4* & 5* hotels & this was the best bed & bedding ever!!! They have a great indoor smoking room for smokers. Great breakfast. Staff at reception were all very friendly & spoke very good English. Highly recommended.

Al Najada is a tastefully designed and decorated hotel and we had two very pleasant nights. The hotel is in a great location, minutes from Souq Waqif. You can walk to the Museum of Islamic Art within minutes. Although it’s so close to so many of Doha’s main attractions the hotel sits in a peaceful ambience.

The staff really make the hotel a great place to be and make your stay is wonderful. They are very kind and available for all your questions. Thank you to all of the staff who make this place so amazing!
My booking came with breakfast. The breakfast is luxurious and generous, with lots of variety. I would highly recommend adding breakfast to your stay.

Everything about the room was great: the view, our balcony, the extremely comfortable beds with quality linens, large and well appointed bathroom. The rooms are really enormous, and the bed is so amazing. Drinking water and supply of delicious tea was replenished every day.

I would highly recommend a stay at Al Najada. The rooms are finished to an extremely high standard. I will definitely come back to this hotel because it was amazing experience, one of the best places to stay.
Really highly recommended!

The hotel is modern and very nicely decorated. It has a nice pool. The breakfast buffet ($12). is excellent. The hotel is immaculately clean. Our room included a very comfortable sitting area , a fridge, and a safe. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is located about a five minute walk away from Souq Waqif, a very interesting area to explore, especially at night. Many restaurants are nearby.

The hotel does not have an airport shuttle but taxis to and from the airport are cheap and easy to arrange.

Beautiful hotel at great location just next to the Souq Waqif. Luxurious breakfast with everything you could possible ask for. Our room was large and tip-top in every way. The staff was kind and helpful. Best part was that we could check in early for a reasonable extra sum. That was really appreciated after 14 h flight and helped us cope with the heat and humidity.

Al Najada is a luxurious hotel close to all the main attractions of Doha and the new metro line.
It is adjacent to the Souk Waqif but across the road, away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the souk.
Our room was grand with an oversized king bed. The room and hotel in general are luxuriously appointed in a modern Arabic style. The pool is also a welcome oasis from the heat of the day.
The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. The hotel, being part of the Tivoli group, offered an extremely enjoyable and informative walking tour of the souk.

We would recommend Al Najada as a great hotel for its location and luxurious style at an affordable price.

The Najada Doha Hotel by Tivoli is a splendid hotel in the centre of Qatar’s capital city within walking distance of the souks. An ideal spot to discover Doha. Rooms are very clean and large, good beds, good breakfastexcellent service.

The bed has a very hot quilt which made it almost impossible to sleep. Normally, I would rate the hotel much lower because the only reason hotels exist is to have somewhere to sleep.

However, the hotel in general is superb. The location is excellent. The room is so smart and stylish – not flash, discreet with subtle touches and a comfortable bed. Breakfast is great, quality rather than a vast choice, the perfect way to do it.

The quilt is about two inches (4 cm) thick and so the bed is way too hot even with the excellent air-conditioning on full. it would be so much better if they provided a thin quilt (Doha is hot!) or better still a blanket. I suspect the super warm quilt is provided with the best of intentions, to give the best they can.

The lobby has a separate hall with comfortable sofas if you need to rest and plenty of electrical outlets to charge your phone and laptop.

The rooms was very big, with big bathroom and a balcony. We had the souk view – the window actually gives not directly on the souk, but on a pleasant square with fountains beautifully lit at night. What I especially liked about the room was a lot of lights (very often hotel rooms have dark lighting) and plenty of sockets everywhere (which is often an issue in the hotels as well)

The swimming pool is a decent size, lounge chairs in sun and shade, umbrellas.Spotless changing rooms with showers. The gym quite well equipped as well.

Huge choice for breakfast with outside and inside sitting. Excellent coffee (cappuccino available)

All the staff smiling and courteous

The location is perfect as well – amazing souk with plenty of restaurants and local mood just around the corner, the metro station 50 meters away, walking distance to the Corniche Museum of Islamic Art and New Downtown.

And to finish it up the place is spotlessly clean – both the room and the public areas.

All in all a very well deserved 5 star rating. It was a pleasure to stay here and
I will be back with pleasure.
