The rooms are on par with a Wyndham-type in the US. Our party had various issues which included A/C that did not work, room mix up with a newlywed couple, a slider to porch with broken lock, and an access panel located above the bathtub that gave way, leaving debris and a nail all over the bathroom. Luckily, nobody was in the bathroom when it fell. I also had problems with my key card not working at the most inconvenient times and having to walk all the way to the front to get someone to reset my key and then walk back with me to my room to make sure it worked.

The pool area was warm, clean and inviting with nice loungers and towels available during open hours. The beach was a short walk from our rooms and kept clean. The lounge chairs and beds right on the beach were very welcoming (and free of charge) with food and drinks available at all times.

Staff were very responsive and aimed to please. Concierge services made trips off the property easy to arrange for a very reasonable cost. Rooms need some attention to give it 5 stars.

he check in process was very easy and we were given complimentary beers while we waited. We stayed in a plunge pool with a king bed, which was absolutely beautiful. As a side note, although I don’t believe they have an official stated position on being a LGBT friendly establishment in Goa, we were not questioned on our desire to share a bed like we had been at other hotels in India. We also felt quite comfortable and welcome in every space at the resort.

The plunge pool was very nice, although the water was a bit on the chilly side. We took advantage of the very reasonably priced in-room bar and liked the range of foods and beverages offered. If you are coming from the US and expect that like most places in India everything will be less expensive than you are used to because of the extremely reasonably priced rooms, I will say that the services, food, and just about everything else are about the same cost as what you would pay at a similar resort in the US. I did however find everything at the resort to be well worth the costs. Overall, I would highly recommend the Azaya Beach Resort. From their well kept rooms, public spaces, and beach, to their exemplary service and personal touches, your stay there it is certain to be a highlight of your trip to India.

zaya Beach is a 40 room, new resort located in the quieter, less touristy Southern portion on Goa. The rooms are large (many have private pools), the resort pool is beautiful and large, dining and relaxing facilities (gym, rec room, night club) are attractive, food is very good, the beach is beautiful, the staff is friendly and competent, and the landscaping is immaculate. No high rises, crowds, or casinos (that’s much more common in the Northern portion of Goa). Pricing is reasonable for value received.

Very Close to Airport in Goa, the star deluxe resort is located on the Konkan Coast on Sea-Mouth at Betul, Salcete district of Goa.

What makes the luxury spa resort special is the view of Arabian Sea. Pool side restaurant, bar, restaurants, spa and spacious rooms are sure to take you away from the busy life into the world of luxury and tranquility. The luxury hotel has been designed into an amazing way to meet the standards of the best hotels in Goa. Accommodate in the hotel and forget the hassles of life for some time.

This resort is a hidden gem in the depths of South Goa. Although the location is a little secluded, if you are staying here you wouldn’t even have to get out. They have a pool where I spent hours sipping cocktails and a spa where you can Just relax. Food is also great. We ordered more than we could eat and didn’t regret it. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and equipped with modern amenities.

Tucked away in an obscure yet beautiful part of south Goa, this resort is a true ‘hideaway’. The peace & quiet of the resort coupled with their excellent well-maintained facilities made this a very memorable Goa experience. Food served here is fantastic (the ajwaini fish tikka is to live for!) & the staff are extremely caring.

Located where the Betul river joins the Arabian Sea this charming small hotel is in a quite magical setting . The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool which directly overlooks a landscape that changes hourly : sand flats that come and go in the tides , boats passing and astonishing bird life . On our last day we saw 30 red -backed kites swooping all day around the palm trees near the hotel . The staff were efficient and helpful , our well appointed upper level bedrooms overlooked the river estuary.

As you open the wooden door at the entrance, it instantly transports you to another world – almost feels like you are in Bali. The lush greenery and gorgeous varied plants that envelope the hotel, not only provides the much needed serenity but also privacy to all guests. The infinity pool with the stunning river view, was my favorite place to de-stress and soak in the views and reflect. The poolside cabanas were a nice addition and helped with the lounging on the lazy afternoon with a good book. The hotel grounds are kept clean and trimmed by the very professional gardener. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the bathrooms have a large tub to soak those weary bones. The housekeeping staff is very quick to service and highly professional.

The in house restaurant headed by Chef Kailash serves delectable food. The breakfast is varied and delicious – do try their thin and crispy dosas, mini potato vadas, crunchy waffles. Chef Kailash personally talks to each guest and ensures that their every need is looked into. For my birthday, a special cake was placed in my room as a surprise – small gestures like these make all the difference. For my birthday dinner, the restaurant staff, planned a quiet dinner by the poolside – it was simply fabulous. Thank you Chef Kailash and JaiKrishnan, Shiva (waiters).

Overall, this property is pure bliss, a haven of relaxation and serenity. If you are looking to recharge or just get away from the chaos, Mayfair is the place to go!

3. The Park Baga River Goa 4* – Gay Friendly Hotels Goa

The Park Baga River Goa
The Park Baga River Goa

Situated in Baga, 2.1 km from Calangute Beach, The Park Baga River Goa features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a bar. 2.3 km from Britto’s, the hotel offers a shared lounge and a garden. The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi throughout the property.

Guests at the hotel can enjoy a continental breakfast.

The Park Baga River Goa offers a terrace.

The Park Baga River is located opposite to the natural lagoon with rich greenery and coconut trees, in immediate proximity to the ever popular beaches of Calangute and Baga. The Welcoming interiors and contemporary decor have been created to bring out the holiday spirit in you. The Park Baga River initiate this new holiday experience – a hotel for Couples and Companion in a boutique style.

This hotel is situated in middle of Baga, just five minutes walking distance from the Saturday night market and 10 minutes from the Baga beach. We stayed in river view room and the view from the room in the early morning is awesome. Its so pleasant in the morning.

Beyond the glistening sand and crystal blue waters that Goa is renowned for, The Park decided to step up its game—by opening a couples-only luxury boutique hotel, with twenty-eight rooms and suites. Arguably India’s most romantic escape, The Park Baga River is tucked amid lush greenery with dramatic river and village views. Yes, the location is Baga, but it’s far from the maddening crowd… though the beach and pub crawl is accessible within minutes! Its stunning pool, top-shelf poolside bar and all-hours restaurant ‘Saltwater’ is a draw while gourmet cuisine and attentive bespoke service [picnic hampers in bed, aroma candles and rose petals!] make it Goa’s most sought-after.

As I alighted from the hotel car, it was evident the property enjoys the best of both worlds — a contemporary design and accents of blue and yellow reflective of traditional Portuguese homes in Goa. After completing check-in formalities and admiring the mobile hanging artwork by enamel artist Veenu Shah, the management showed me to a 1,025 sq. ft. terrace suite that was to be my ‘home away from home’ — elegant living room leading to a terrace outfitted with sun beds and umbrellas, huge bedroom with a spacious balcony, nightstands and tables with my framed photographs [I was misty-eyed at their personalised attention!] washroom with bathtub, rain shower and massage shower… and mini bar stocked local wine, feni and snacks… a refreshing chnage! Placed at the adjacent table was a bottle of wine, fruit platters and chocolate platters from the iconic Flury’s.

A unique mix of contemporary design sensibilities and indigenous Portuguese touches make it a charming place to stay. The interiors, designed by Anil Badan, have textured walls and flooring that offset the accents of yellow and turquoise to give it a cozy feel. The art… oh the art handpicked by Priya Paul, Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels is one-of-a-kind, stunning and thought provoking. I loved ‘Open Wound’ — a set of ten photographs by Atish Saha, a photographer and performance artist based in Dhaka. Besides, each room features sepia tinted images of Goa a decade back, by artist Mahesh Nair. But the one I completely fell in love with was photographs with the artist dressed as a melancholic clown, wandering the streets of Panjim, looking for love. Intensely human. Lastly, Valay Mulji Gada’s sculptures in brass and copper patinas are a statement that the environment doesn’t have to be a trade off for development.

Reflecting on my experience, service at adults-only luxury boutique hotel The Park Baga River is flawless. The general manager and his team ensure guests felt at home, greeted me by name, and made sure they were available and attentive. I would highly recommend crafting memories here, be it couples who wish to indulge with a decadent picnic hamper in bed; solo getaway in a kids-free zone; or friends trip where you can participate in bespoke workshops, head out to the beach or pubs, and sleep in late with no wailing kids to disrupt your dreams. Looking for the perfect honeymoon hotel? This adults-only property, ensconced in tropical beauty, should definitely be on your radar! It will be an unforgettably intimate experience. As their tagline proclaims, Anything But Ordinary.
