Angkana staff is always friendly and accommodating. They are located in a perfect location near Thongsala to get to the beaches and nightlife. Beautiful view of the sunset from their beach. The rooms are kept exceptionally clean and the food is great! Our home away from home.
This place is absolutely perfect. I travel a lot and this is one of my favorite places on earth. The service is what you would expect in a 5 star hotel in the US. The food was amazing. The location is absolutely breath taking. If you love the island life but are an adult and wish to avoid the younger party crowd or just escape the crowd after a long evening out this place is perfect. The staff arranged private yoga classes for me and several of the other guests daily. Diamond Muay Thai is a short walk from here. Even if you do not train Thai Boxing they have everything from Yoga to kettle bell classes daily. There is an amazing english pub around the corner called Mason Arms. Great place to escape the heat for a ice cold beer and grab some western food. There is a small uninhabited island that is a short kayak ride to nearby. Excellent place to escape to for a picnic. This place is great for couples or solo. I was solo and met a lot of really nice people to go out on the town with and do some sight seeing with. This place is better then it looks in the pictures.
The location is perfect, the area is beautiful and so peaceful. It was a quick and easy walk to the food market and plenty of shops and restaurants but we didn’t hear any of that noise. The owners are so welcoming and gave us great advice for anything we needed. We loved their restaurant too; every meal we had was delicious and the smoothies were out of this world! The bungalows are nice and clean and have everything you need. This is a wonderful place and if we ever make it back to Koh Phangan we will definitely stay here again, and for longer next time!
Angkana is a small resort with 10 bungalows with each one comfortable double bed. The bungalows are built in a traditional looking way and tastefully decorated. The resort has an open restaurant (good cuisine!) and a large private beach, It is very well located on walking distance from the town of Thongsala.
Due to the fact that there is only a limited amount of bungalows and thus a limited number of people, it is a very calm place, where one can really relax. Sometimes, you even have the beach all for yourself.

This is a fantastic hotel. Spread over a large area with beautiful mature gardens. Dotted around are the villas which are just gorgeous, each one slightly different from the other. We viewed about 7 whilst there!
The main swimming pool area is a great place to chill out and never seems that busy. The pool has two waterfalls and a couple of raised pools. The pool itself is so well maintained I never smelt any chlorine. In fact the odd dragonfly would drop by for a little drink.
The breakfast caters for everyone with an excellent choice. The dining area is elevated so you can enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the bay.
What makes this hotel stand out from the rest is the wonderful staff. Everyone is so polite and courteous. When you leave for breakfast a team must be hiding round the corner, because you could pop back 10 minutes later and your room is spotless.
The transfer by speedboat from Koh Samui was quick and efficient. The hotel staff without exception are delightful and particular mention for Miel and Gelli, two lovely ladies in the restaurant. Thank you for looking after two old fogeys!
We were on a breakfast included deal and the buffet, to be honest not our favourite form of eating, was very good.
We dined in each night and again this is buffet unless you go a la carte. The menu each night varied with a mix of Thai and western food and it was OK without being exceptional. However,if you pre book a table more than 3 hours before service you get a 25% meal discount. Well worth having.
Entertainment was provided each night and particular mention to the singing duo who were excellent, sorry we didn’t catch their names.
The site is big and built on a hill, there is bus service around the site but be warned it’s a lot of steps from the beach pool area to the trolley stop and for the elderly this could be an issue.
From the time we set our foot in the resort we were welcomed with a warm welcome and the beauty of this Resort instantly got us enchanted.
We had booked the hideaway pool Villa and I must say it completely value for money and really a lavish set up of Villa room. Completely Private to the real sense of the word.
We really felt we were there for less number of days as we were there just for 4 days.
The breakfast was marvelous, overlooking the ocean and spread was elaborate and varied, satiating our any need. The staff was amazingly prompt and made sure we are always comfortable. We had dinner there on two different nights one was at the deck and one my the beach (what a romantic and beautiful set up) the fire show on display was amazing.
We also did a complimentary yoga class which really re energized.. yoga was such a calming experience as we were in the Lap of the nature breathing fresh air.

Located on Haad Rin, The COAST Adults Only Resort and Spa – Koh Phangan is approximately 800 m from the Full Moon Party. It offers air-conditioned rooms with 2 free bottles of drinking water and free WiFi. The hotel is 10 km from Thongsala Pier and equipped with an outdoor pool and a fitness centre.
Rooms at The Coast Resort are furnished with simple décor. Each room comes with a flat-screen cable TV, a minibar and a safety deposit box. Free toiletries, hairdryer and towels are included in an en suite bathroom.

As you enter the hotel, you are greeted with welcome drinks and the impressive aesthetics of the hotel is immediately apparent. The swimming pool provided a perfect view of the beach which is just a step away (literally) from the hotel. The room that we chose (private plunge pool) was spacious and well put together. The bathroom had a beautiful rainfall shower along with a bathtub. If you’re a fitness fanatic, you’ll be pleased to know that the gym in the hotel is well equipped and is open 24 hours. There are even classes in the morning for guests to attend.
The breakfast buffet had an ample amount of options, with a designated waffle/pancake/egg station. There was also a wide variety of spreads to choose from ( I was particularly impressed with the banana jam). The servers/managers were extremely accommodating too.
From the moment we arrived with our welcome drink and the refresher towels, to the modern & fresh room with a partial sea view , to the gorgeous infinity pool, we loved our stay here! The staff are friendly and the hotel should be proud of what they’ve achieved as their customer service is right up there!
There was such a divine selection at breakfast. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, fresh juices especially lichi, pancakes, really speaking all of it! We stayed here for 3 nights and everyday I’d try something new, unlike some places where you have the same thing everyday.
I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough! If you stay here you are guaranteed an amazing time! I would easily stay here if we returned and I’m one of those people that usually like to try different places!
ROOM
After much debate we decided to book the room which came with a hot tub on the patio. The room itself is a reasonable size, very clean (and cleaned daily), very large and very comfortable bed, air conditioning, large TV which does have a few English language channels. The bathroom is nice with a good shower, toiletries such as shampoo etc are also provided and re stocked daily as required. If I have one complaint it would be a lack of cupboard space, the wardrobe is tiny not a lot of hanging space and only 2 drawers. We did manage but if I could change that then it would have been perfect. There is a mini bar in the room and you are also provided with I think from memory 2 bottles of water a day. On arrival we also had some fresh fruit and snacks which were complimentary. You also have a golf umbrella provided (just in case you need it – thankfully we did not). We had our own patio area which was fully enclosed and had the hot tub which was amazing and used every night ! There are outdoor lights but if you switch those off and get in the hot tub you can see the stars so very clearly, it was amazing.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast was available from 7-11, buffet style. There was always plenty to choose from with cereal, juices, breads, yogurt, pastries, toast, fresh fruit (loved the dragon fruit !) etc. You could order fresh made eggs (omelette, fried, poached etc) pancakes or waffles and also although I do not drink it myself you can get fresh coffee which I am informed was nice. The other food available in the hot “help yourself” buffet was definitely something new for a Scottish girl like myself as it was things such as curry, pad thai, noodles, potatoes etc, not what I would normally think of having for breakfast but I did sample a couple of things (would be rude not to !) and they were very very nice.
SWIMMING POOL
The infinity pool is just stunning, with a swim up bar also. The bar has a happy hour from 2-4 every day except on a Friday when they have the pool party and it is happy hour 1-5. It is basically a buy one get one free for cocktails most of which are c280 bhat (c£7) so good value to get 2 for that price. There are sunbeds and shades along the poolside, I would say you could probably still get a sunbed up to 10-11 am as they do not allow reserving of the beds by putting towels on. Beach Towels are provided daily.
BEACH
STUNNING ! The hotel has it’s own private beach area with sun shades and massive red bean bags which are so comfortable. The bar staff will come along with bar and food menus which you can order and they will bring to you. You can either pay cash or add to your room and pay at the end of the trip. The sand on that area of beach is raked fresh every morning. The water is lovely if you fancy a dip, there is a little bit of broken shell etc when you first get in but maybe only a couple of steps then it is fine. The hotel have kayaks and paddle boards which you can use free for I think an hour a day.
FACILITIES
The hotel has a gym which to be fair I only saw from the outside but it did look well stocked. They have a restaurant and do some theme nights (you will normally have a flyer left in your room the day before to advise). They have a bar and also do an outdoor movie night. Also no children there as this is an adult only hotel, do not underestimate how good it is to have no squealing or tantrums in earshot to spoil the tranquillity !
OVERALL
We had an amazing holiday, loved every single minute and will definitely return, if it was not such a long journey from Scotland I would be back this year ! The hotel was beautiful, really well kept and clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
