This is a sensitive conversion of an historic (1940s) building. The hotel is well situated and the rooms are beautifully decorated. There is rare attention to detail in the finishing and the styling is appropriate for the building. The staff are well trained and keen to help.
What a great property in a cute part of town. The room was great, the property was very conveniently located in old town close to so many great restaurants and shops. What really stood out was the staff.
Very nice rooms with beautiful, original artwork. Every room is little different, tastefully done with with modern materials and comfy beds and linens. Super convenient to metro station and located in the recently renovated Old Town area of Kunming with cobblestone streets and fantastic Chinese architecture. Super nice showers and fixtures.
Located in the central of one of the most beautiful cities in China, it is a must have experience for someone looking for a unique trip in Kunming. Its delicate decoration and boutique furniture gives a great nostalgic feeling back to the good glorious years the building was from, yet the modern facility inside takes no compromise to the comfort of living-in, not to mention the very special wine glass shape of the building itself. It is truly a great place to appreciate the rich history and culture of this city.
The staff are very friendly and professional. You can also have traditional Yunnan and continental style cuisine from the hotel. Most of the attractions in Kunming are within walking distance. Strongly recommended.

The location is great, just a two-minute walk to the Nationalities Village and within walking distance to Dianchi Lake. Fantastic design – you feel like a character from a dorama 🙂 I really loved the ancient style bed. Very peaceful and quiet. A few onsite restaurants and a food stall. Convenient transportation.
Excellent location, friendly staff and comfortable room. It’s right beside the Nationality Park and Haigeng Park is also within walking distance. Very quiet at night and the bed is big and comfortable.
The hotel is within walking distance of the gondola ride to Xi Shan amazing cliff carved Buddhist shrines, tunnels and walkways. The shower had hot water and lots of pressure. The hotel was pretty quiet. The rooms had ambiance with the antique Chinese four poster canopy beds.
The hotel is next to tourist shopping and the Yunnan Ethnic experience park. The hotel is very near the parks on the shores of famous lake Dianwu.
The appearance of the hotel was very nice. It was located right next top the Yunnan Nationalities Village, the East Gate is literally right ahead of the hotel, about 2 minutes on foot at most. There are 2 shortcuts to the main entrance of the Yunnan Nationalities Village (YNV), we only discovered it after walking the long way round on our first day there. If you use the shortcut, it takes a maximum of 5 minutes for you to walk to the decorated archway of the YNV (not the main entrance of the YNV but the entrance to the eateries and shops before the main entrance). We had a great time browsing around the shops even though that area is not that huge.
Haigeng Park is also within easy walking distance and there are a lot of hawkers on the street selling fruits and snacks on your way there so you could get them at a really great price if you want to. That direction is also where you can buy tickets for the cable car to Xishan.

The location is excellent, central but in a vibrant quarter full of traditional food and crafts.
The hotel is charmingly decorated with a traditional courtyard. The room was spacious, tasteless done, brightly lit and very functional with separate toilets, bath and vanity area. I like the wooden flooring as it’s easier to keep the room clean.

Unique finding of a small boutique hotel in a centrally located buzzing Kunming city. A nice change from previous lodging experiences with most large hotels hence Cachet indeed a hidden gem when comes to small luxury enjoyment.
The suite and it’s amenities set up was sufficient with modern contemporary designs and room features. A well thought of free mini bar enjoyment with snacks, imported reds and soft beverages in the chiller, was a good evening start up before our dinner at their famed Chef David Laris’s Porterhouse Restaurant.
Breakfast buffet with small a la carte choice was substantial to keep the morning going.
Overall stay was delightful with very comfortable experience and looking forward to return to this hidden gem in Kunming.
The room was neat and clean, and with a big toilet. The hotel is near many eateries and once out of hotel, after a short walk we were in front of a new mall, Joy City, that have familiar stores like The Alley, Charles and Keith, Adidas, and stores to be opened soon, Decathlon and Uniqlo. Another older mall, under renovation with some stores and Carrefour still opened for business.
This boutique is a nice place to stay in in Kunming. Definitely will come back for a comfortable stay if ever I visit Kunming again.
The location is excellent a few kilometres from the train station and located down a quiet side street facing a pedestrian zone of shops and cafes. The staff were great welcoming, very keen to assist, they would quickly get an English speaking colleague to attend to us. The room was great, spacious with a super comfortable bed, the mini bar was free and a complimentary plate of fruit was provided, greatly appreciated. The on-site restaurant exceeded our expectations on our first night we celebrated our anniversary with the seven course wine paired menu, delicious food and high quality wines ensured a memorable evening.
