The Kentucky Castle is more than another Lexington boutique hotel and event space, the The Kentucky Castle includes a grand dining experience for Breakfast, Brunch, and Dinner from our own executive chef. “Where we treat your family like our family.

Stayed a night in a tower at the castle. Unique experience. This particular room is two floors. Fully stocked fridge, drink-wise, large bed upstairs, and a fold-out couch bed downstairs. Comfortable with four people, but we didn’t spend too much time in the room. The staff put us at ease and were always ready to help. We took plenty of pictures of the inside of the castle as well, and nobody ever appeared bothered or concerned that we were just wondering around and posing everywhere. Overall a fantastic experience. Also I recommend the barrel painting. It’s good fun, and if it’s not your cup of tea, they serve drinks!

It was a unique and delightful experience! Everything – the friendly welcome, enthusiasm of the staff, wealth of information given during the tour, quality of food on the buffet – was just amazing. The overall atmosphere is upscale and classy, yet comfortable.

In addition to superb quality of the food, the buffet service was very efficient and extremely well-organized. Our waiters, Lynn and Paige, two more examples of the wonderful staff, were very attentive and so very pleasant and had answers to all our questions.

The castle became the pinnacle for a surprise proposal and did it ever deliver! Of course the castle itself is amazing, but it was all of the small details — the fit and finish of everything with the service, that really made it a special place to stay.

It felt personalized from the start, with it being very easy to contact them through email, to them knowing exactly who we were pulling up to the gates.

We stayed in a tower room that made the experience even more unique. It had a really comfortable and clean feel to the entire space, with the bed being very comfortable, and just overall pleasing to every sense from the interior to the two balconies we could access.

The surrounding landscape and countryside we’re beautiful and the main portion of the castle was also elegantly decorated, with the dining area being upscale yet not overly pretentious. The service even less so, as the manager to the wait staff were very warm and inviting from breakfast to dinner. As for the food, we give it a 10/10. I say this having lived in Italy for 3 years, so I have a pretty decent taste for above average food. Not only do they grow some of their own food, but have their own bees for honey and chickens for eggs (not to mention cute pygmy goats) on the property. It was reported they partner with local farms as well for the remainder of the food they serve, and it really shows through in the quality of taste.

We’d definitely stay here again, or now that it’s open to the public, simply go for brunch or dinner. Thank you to the staff for making it a wonderful stay, and having the room set up for my special surprise proposal! It was a moment my fiancé and I will never forget.

21c Museum Hotel Lexington is a combination boutique hotel, contemporary art museum and restaurant in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. The hotel is housed in downtown Lexington’s historic Fayette National Bank Building, the city’s first skyscraper originally designed by famed New York architecture firm McKim, Mead & White.

Woven into the fabric of downtown, 21c welcomes both visitors and the local community to enjoy the curated exhibitions and cultural programming. The world has changed over the last several months and here at 21c, we have made some changes too. One thing remains constant. Our top priority is the safety and wellness of our teammates and guests. Our website has everything you need to know to return to travel with 21c.

New modern feel in a historic downtown bank building. Upscale design and amenities with an excellent lounge and fine restaurant. Staff was friendly, helpful and timely. Hotel location was perfect – near everything.

The location is a former bank building, so the restaurant on the ground floor is named Lockbox. Because of their location on a busy street downtown, the valet parking is quite convenient. The rooms are luxurious. We had a king room on the corner of the building, so there were windows on two sides. The view from the 9th floor was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The bath had only a shower, but it was fabulous. Everything is very attractive, with the original vintage tile still on the floors in the hallways. Every room has a Nespresso machine for making a great cappuccino.

For an old building, there were a surprising number of electrical outlets for all your charging needs. There is a hotel minibar in every room, but no refrigerator, although when we asked about it, the hotel front desk said they could bring a mini fridge up to the room, if we wanted one. Staying true to their brand, there is an art gallery on the bottom two floors with a rotating exhibit. It was interesting to walk through even though it wasn’t our style of art. I would definitely recommend staying here.

We found the downtown location pleasant as there were plenty of restaurants to try and it was central to the various sites we panned to visit in the area. We valeted our car each night ($23). The building is a former bank building.

We chose a corner king room which was bright and very spacious, furnished with midcentury modern style furniture. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Our bathroom was large and bright, too. The tile floor was cold under my feet but I eventually discovered it had a heated floor I could turn on with a wall switch. The closet has a light that turns on automatically, too.

We enjoyed the light-hearted style of the hotel, the engaging young staff and the art on the walls…well most of it. We ate breakfast each morning in the dining room and had one dinner there as well. The food was good and it was not crowded, so we could waltz in whenever we chose.

This is the second 21c hotel we have stayed in. We like them!
