 1. Vista Bonita – Gay Only Resort – Gay Hotels Maspalomas

Vista Bonita - LGTBI Only Resort

Vista Bonita – Gay Only Resort Gran Canaria – features simple décor and each of its duplex has a kitchenette and toilet on the ground floor.

Video Review of Vista Bonita – LGBT Only Resort

In the upper floors are the bedroom and bathroom. The living room opens to a terrace with direct access to the pool or garden.

At the bar, guests can enjoy a drink and relax on the terrace, which offers views of the attractive tropical gardens.

Five minutes by taxi from the complex is the center of Playa del Inglés and Meloneras, where there are a number of shops, bars, and restaurants.

With an outdoor pool and hot tub, the Vista Bonita Gay Resort offers spacious apartments with terraces and free Wi-Fi throughout. It is less than 3 km from Maspalomas Dunes.

There is a living room that leads to a terrace that gives direct access to a swimming pool.

The upper floors have a bedroom and a bathroom, as well as private entrances.

You can enjoy a drink in the Bonita’s bar or relax on the terrace, which overlooks the garden.

A snack bar and barbecue facilities are available.

Nudism is allowed, and you can hire a car or bicycle from the tour desk. An airport shuttle service is available for an additional fee.

The Vista Bonita resort has around 20 apartments.

Although Vista Bonita is not centrally located, there is a free shuttle bus to the beach and any taxi ride to the Yumbo Center or to the beach costs between 4 and 5 EUR… and takes 5 minutes.

I just loved everything about this hotel, from the warm welcome to the nice, clean rooms to the amazing and entertaining bar staff.

There is no hotel every 5 meters around, like in the city center, so if you like it quiet, like I do, then the Resort is perfect for you.

This hotel is in a perfect location because you have sun all day long. It also has umbrellas and a chill area with shade for those who don’t enjoy lying in the sun.

Rooms are clean and well equipped with smart-TVs, a fully functional kitchenette, a private balcony AND terrace overlooking the pool.

Even if you find something missing in the hotel facilities, the lovely staff is always there to assist you.

Due to its location, taking a taxi for shopping or nightlife is a must.

This resort will mark the highest note if you are looking for a relaxing stay.

On the top floor, there was a very comfortable large bed and a large kitchen/living space area.

Fully equipped kitchen with Lavazza coffee machine and all utensils.

The wine and water on arrival was a lovely touch, and I really enjoyed it.

The top floor terrazzo can be used for sunbathing, swimming in the warm pool, soaking in the jacuzzi, or simply relaxing on balinese beds while sipping cocktails.

One of the best things about Vista Bonita is its dedicated staff – from front desk to bar to housekeeping, they provide exceptional customer service and care in a relaxed, attitude-free environment that makes you feel welcome from the moment you enter, providing a truly memorable experience.

2. Seven Hotel & Wellness  4* – Gay Hotels Maspalomas

Seven Hotel & Wellness - Gay Men Only

Seven Hotel & Wellness – Gay Men Only is set next to Maspalomas Golf Course in southern Gran Canaria.

It features a heated outdoor saltwater pool, and each room comes with a furnished porch.

There is a flat-screen TV in the air-conditioned living room, a sofa bed in some rooms, and a safe.

The Abora Restaurant is another facility on the property.

Located 15 minutes walk from the beach (there is a complimentary bus if you wish), Seven Hotel is a laid-back, relaxing place.

The rooms are very nice: I particularly like the rooms around the pool.

There is a complimentary bus and taxis are cheap (€5 for anywhere you want to go) but it is a bit of a walk to the beach or Yumbo.

Nicely decorated rooms with simple, clean lines, and lovely showers.

It’s one of the more comfortable beds I’ve slept in and it’s huge, so it’s perfect for holidays.

The room was clean and very modern, very quiet, and the air conditioning worked well – I was very pleased with the standard of the room, especially the bed linen.

I loved the rose-tinted screens in the shower and the mini-bar/fridge in the room.

There is a good safe in the wardrobe, and a rubber wristband to unlock the patio door to the room (which you can wear in water, e.g. at the beach).

If you want, you can watch Netflix and Amazon Prime video.

At sunset, the views from the ‘Abora’ restaurant are simply stunning.

Good quality sun loungers and daybeds/parasols are available.

There is a mini market just around the corner (opposite Sandy Golf reception).

There are massages available (quite expensive), but if you want to treat yourself, it’s worth it.

Restaurant service and food are excellent.

It is a buffet breakfast (with hot food to order) and they are generous with coffee (served in thick, proper white china cups and delicious).

This is a fantastic addition to Maspalomas’ holiday resort market.

This gay resort is better than any other gay resort we have stayed at in the past.

There was never a feeling of overcrowding in the complex.

The hotel is divided into four blocks, two of which have eight smaller rooms, and the other two have more spacious accommodations, a total of six suites and two villas.

There are private pools in each villa, but the privacy hedging seems new and the gaps do not provide total privacy.

During our stay, we occupied a superior room, which included a very comfortable bed and an open bathroom with a great shower and double basins. The toilet was small.

Each room had a small terrace with a table and chairs and beach towels.

As there were no drawers, just shelves to hang clothes on, the wardrobe was quite small and could use more hangers.

Additionally, a spacious safe was provided.

There were plenty of channels to choose from including the usual U.K. ones, as well as Netflix, YouTube, etc.

Despite the pool’s shallow depth, the complex is centered around it.

By the pool, there were some sun loungers, but there were also some behind the pool, near the hot tub, and some round beds for two.

It would be helpful if they provided more sun loungers, because I think some people would have trouble finding one if the place was full.

Drinks and food can be ordered via a call button on some loungers.

I would estimate that 75% of the guests were naked in the hotel, although there was no pressure to stay covered up.

There was an outdoor gym with a treadmill, cross trainer, dumbbells, and a weight machine.

Although there were some technical problems with the hot tub while we were there, it was a great size.

Some people were drinking by the pool and in the hot tub, and I think plastic glasses should be required.

In addition to a well-stocked bar, breakfast and other meals were excellent.

Most days, we ate breakfast and lunch there. I wish they would ban smoking in restaurants.

Due to its privileged environment free from noise, our Resort is just 200m from the Faro 2 Commercial Centre.

It was immaculately clean and well appointed. It was thoroughly cleaned every day and left spotless.

Breakfast, lunch, and simple dinners can be prepared in the kitchenette.

A chilled bottle of water and cava awaited us in the fridge!

In the evenings, the air conditioning kept us cool.

With sufficient sun loungers, the pool area is peaceful and relaxing.

Everyone adheres to a no-reservations policy, so you can usually find a free lounger no matter what time of day you arrive.

The pool is heated, so it is comfortable at any time of day and takes the chill off when you get in.

You can request fresh pool towels if needed.

At the resort, everyone was friendly, relaxed, and respectful.

A peaceful and comfortable holiday is made possible by the relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.

There was a dining area, TV and comfy sofa in the living area, perfect for chilling out in the afternoon when the sun was at its strongest.

On those evenings when you were too tired to venture out, the bungalow’s nice lighting made it very relaxing.

A fully equipped kitchen area was adjacent to the living quarters, complete with a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, and coffee maker

4. Lopesan Baobab Resort 5* – Gay Friendly Hotels Maspalomas

Lopesan Baobab Resort

Lopesan Baobab Resort is a luxurious resort set in tropical gardens with African-style decór throughout.

It features a large outdoor swimming pool and is 600 m from Maspalomas Beach.

Rooms at the Lopesan are elegant and spacious. All feature air conditioning and a balcony. The bathrooms have toiletries and bathrobes.

The Baobab’s Pili Pili Restaurant specialises in grilled meats and seafood, while the Akara offers African cuisine.

There is a buffet restaurant, as well as 2 stylish poolside bars and a coffee shop.

Video Review of Lopesan Baobab Resort

Exclusive luxury Lopesan Baobab Resort was inaugurated in 2009; it is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, in the exclusive Meloneras holiday area, just a few walking minutes away from the extensive, several kilometres long, Maspalomas beach and the impressive landscape of sand dunes.

Famous Maspalomas lighthouse is situated nearby, as well as the long coastside promenade.

ExpoMeloneras Convention Centre is also located only a few steps away from the hotel.

Five-star hotel Lopesan Baobab Resort has become one of the preferred destinations for family holidays of Spanish national tourists.

Why You Should Book Lopesan Baobab Resort

Thanks to the uniqueness of its architecture inspired by the African continent, its impressive water landscapes with pools, rivers and waterfalls, as well as the high quality services offered, this hotel shows off ethnic charm, modernity and refinement.

The hotel’s main entrance leads guests over a picturesque wooden bridge to the reception area, passing a grandiose aquatic landscape with waterfalls.

From the lobby you can reach the hotel rooms or the large garden area, on a surface of 56,000 square metres, in the centre of which a large 21 metres high wooden African lodge is located; this lodge houses a restaurant and a bar.

Common areas are connected by an extensive sheet of water crisscrossed by small bridges.

In total there are nine swimming pools (all of them heatable at different temperatures) covering a total surface of 4,245 square metres.

The “lazy river”, two artificial beaches, pools with waterfalls and caves, and two pools for babies and children are specially outstanding.

The hotel is massive, and as it was “winter” season (it hit 30 degrees one day!), it was relatively quiet which was nice.

Sun loungers were always available at a choice of pools (I preferred the pool around the lazy river and the Mungo Park bar).

Food was delicious, the later you go the quieter it is but service is always with a smile and each and every individual we encountered was professional, friendly and helpful.

We didn’t get a chance to book any of the other restaurants on this occasion but maybe next time.

This is the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Everywhere you turn there are staff working hard throughout the day to keep the place clean and tidy, rooms were also cleaned to a high standard.

I’m not generally one for watching entertainment but I couldn’t help myself sitting and watching some of the evening shows before heading up to the Richard Burton bar which has such a nice atmosphere with lovely live music at night.

Don’t forget to take a walk around the hotel at night, it’s unreal.

I’d advise leaving a deposit and charging things to the room, made it really easy throughout the week and prices for drinks etc are actually really reasonable.

The safe is also cheap so get that when you check in.

Meloneras itself is so classy. This is the first time I’ve been to Gran Canaria having been to the other canary islands quite a few times, but I honestly can’t see myself going anywhere else right now

The hotel’s leisure and recreation areas are enriched even more by a complete entertainment programme with a variety of activities during the day and in the evenings.

The Lopesan Baobab Resort offers high quality cuisine in all restaurants, characterized by an elevated level of creativity.

For this purpose the hotel’s select kitchen staff puts special emphasis on using the best products and on preparing them in presence of the hotel guests.

The ‘Akara’ Restaurant is only open for dinner and its name refers to an African recipe; it offers flavours from the very heart of Africa with a menu committed to originality.

The hotel’s second à la carte restaurant is the ‘Pili Pili’ Restaurant, open at lunchtime and specialised in paellas, seafood and grilled meat.

Furthermore, there are two buffet restaurants, the ’Marula’ and the ‘Baobab’, the premises of which are conveniently separated to provide differentiated atmospheres where delicacies from international occidental cuisine are served.

The rooms’ interior design carefully combines colour schemes and African ambience.

Many of the organised activities take place during the day and in the evenings.

Why You Should NOT Book Lopesan Baobab Resort

The hotel is absolutely stunning – from the gorgeous entrance and reception to the pool areas – but our stay here was sadly let down by average food and bad service.

Many staff were unhelpful and borderline rude to us, making us feel like we are a nuisance to them and generally unwelcome.

In one instance, when we returned from being out all day to find that the water in our room hadn’t been restocked, we called reception. Instead of sending us some water, they told us that it was our own fault for being out and hung up on us.

Then there were countless instances where we were told to check the website or read the welcome email when we had questions instead of just being given an answer, waiting staff walking off halfway through taking our orders or the wrong dishes/drinks being served to us.

Drinks are expensive and not included in half/full board (apart from during breakfast)!

Soft drinks are 3 Euro, still water is 2.5 Euro, a bottle of Sangria (the same one that you can get in the supermarket for 6 Euro) is 21 Euro.

The food is really average with little variation each day. The restaurants effectively all serve the same food. The only difference is the table service in some of them
