Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the U.S. state of Florida may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity became legal in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas on June 26, 2003, and same-sex marriage has been legal in the state since January 6, 2015.
Same-sex sexual activity has been legal in Montana since 1997. Same-sex couples and families headed by same-sex couples are eligible for all of the protections available to opposite-sex married couples, as same-sex marriage has been recognized since November 2014.

Stayed here for two nights. Location is great. Step outside and you’re right in heart of downtown Billings. Lots of shops, restaurants around even a nice old movie theater two blocks away. Saturday morning there was a nice farmer’s market across the street. They are connected to two restaurants, one a diner and one a late night lounge. That’s where room service comes from if you’re ordering. Room was very clean, kind of trendy. Small but manageable.

I got a corner room which was great for the windows and nice sitting area. Lobby is very welcoming and comfortable to chill in with nice fireplace and plenty of couches. Parking garage right next door and valets to help out. Not sure of charges since we didn’t have a car. Room was quiet, newspaper on doorstep every morning. Really enjoyed my stay.

2. WorldMark West Yellowstone 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Yellowstone

WorldMark West Yellowstone
WorldMark West Yellowstone

Located just a block from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, WorldMark West Yellowstone is a sprawling, rustic and inviting retreat. Tucked in among the picturesque mountains and rivers of Southwest Montana, the charming town of West Yellowstone is a haven for hospitality and outdoor adventure.

This is our guests’ favourite part of West Yellowstone, according to independent reviews.

At the edge of the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park, this laid-back apartment hotel is 3 minutes’ walk from the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center.

Unpretentious studios provide TVs, DVD players, kitchenettes and fireplaces, as well as balconies or terraces. The 1- and 2-bedrooms suites offer kitchens, and living rooms with wall beds. The 3-bedroom suites add whirlpool tubs.

Amenities include an indoor pool, 2 hot tubs and a kids’ pool, as well as a gym, a basketball court and a game room.

This is an absolutely beautiful area. We heard wolves howling at the Discovery Center next door and it was haunting and wonderful under the stars and the half moon. What an experience. The halls are narrow, but I guess it helps the rooms be larger.

WorldMark is located in an area of West Yellowstone which allowed me to visit WITHOUT a car. The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is almost across the street. The IMAX is next door to the GWDC, a McDonald’s is maybe less than a 5-minute walk (didn’t go) and downtown maybe a 10-20 minute walk (depending upon which part of town, the amount of ice and snow).

Good location and ample parking. Good amenities too. I could see wolves in the Wolf discovery center from the balcony.

WorldMark West Yellowstone is literally at the west gate entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is near the Imax Theater and across the street from the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.
The facility is new. We stayed in a two bedroom unit on the third floor. It looked out toward the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center.

We love staying in places that have a sitting area and a kitchen which these units do. They also had an in unit washing machine and dryer along with a fireplace. The beds, pillows and linens were very comfortable. We had an outside patio as well but being that it was November, we did not spend any time lounging out there. Since our unit was so near the wolves, we heard them howling in the morning when they were fed.

We have been to West Yellowstone numerous times and have stayed in several places. This was our third stay at Worldmark and won’t be our last. We love the modern, comfortable condos. They have all been tastefully remodeled. The building is reminiscent of a western lodge. We love the well maintained pool and hot tubs. This was our first stay on the third floor. We stayed on the west side and the view of the snow capped mountains was spectacular. This is the nicest place to stay and we highly recommend it.

This place did not disappoint. The condo was very clean and organized when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped with everything one would need for cooking except a dish rack and a steamer, but these things are not biggies. The condo also had a hair dryer, ironing board, iron, washer, and dryer. The bed was king sized and comfortable.

The unit was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The location was excellent and very close to west entrance to Yellowstone. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The town itself had multiple places to eat.. however, many are seasonal and were starting to wrap up for the winter season (we were there in Mid-October). I also recommend you do some grocery shopping in a larger city (eg Bozeman) before heading to WorldMark as groceries are somewhat expensive in the town itself.

The hotel is located right on the river and the falls were the reason for the stop in Great Falls. The hotel is nice and convenient. The directions to get there are tricky and you will probably need a GPS to find it. It is not super convenient to restaurants and the like but nothing is that difficult to get to In Great Falls.

Have stayed at La Quinta Great Falls many times over the years and have always been very impressed with the accommodations. Friendly folks and they always do a little something extra for a good breakfast. Hotel is located close to good restaurants and shopping. Easy to find some good walking paths right out your door.

Great stay at the La Quinta. I’m usually a Hilton guy, but I wanted to stay at La Quinta because the location is good – right on the river.

There was nothing to fault at this location; it is a well oiled and managed business!

Gym was small, but quite adequate with free weights. I really enjoyed the suite — and the price was very fair.

The breakfast was ample – standard continental breakfast offered at hotels. The woman managing the breakfast was A+! It did not go unnoticed. Thank you!

I really liked the room I selected — King Suite – perfect, super quiet, river front, highly recommended.

The hotel is located right next door to a great pizza place I always frequent. Super convenient.

This hotel is located on the river and the grounds behind the hotel are immaculately manicured. Last time we were here we were on the front of the hotel and had a hot tub and a fireplace. This year we are on the back.

Our suite has a living room and a bedroom and a sliding glass door that opens onto our own little patio and a view of the river. It was a pleasant place to sit before dinner. Customer service is excellent.

From the moment of check in to checkout, the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The breakfast included biscuits and gravy that needed no additives, yogurt, fresh fruit, and one of my favorites, fresh oatmeal with side additives of brown sugar, raisins, and nuts. Yum. It’s a nice place to stay. The rooms also have a fridge and microwave, as well as an iron/board (which turned out to be needed)

good location next to the Missouri River with walking pathways and green space. Restaurants nearby (we tried Mackenzie River Pizza). Large rooms that are clean. Beds were somewhat soft but slept well. Breakfast included was very good, waffles pancakes yogurt biscuits and gravy. Tv had many choices with a guide. Would recommend.

We stayed in a king suite facing the river. Very large, room. Bedroom with tv, sitting area with tv, and a full kitchen. The bathroom was a good size. Sitting on the balcony and looking at the river view was very nice.

We had no issue at all with noise, even though they were full. Great choices for a hot breakfast. Would have been nice to have a protein choice, as we are not fans of biscuits and gravy.

The exercise room, pool, hot tub were are good. They have bikes you can rent. And you can’t beat the location. Staff was very friendly, definitely recommend this hotel for a great value for your money.

Livingston Inn

The units in the motel are fitted with a coffee machine. All rooms will provide guests with a microwave.

The 16 bright rooms with Western decor such as knotty pine wainscoting and colorful patchwork quilts feature TVs, free WiFi, microwaves, mini fridges and coffeemakers. Some rooms have flat-screen TVs with DVD players.

The motel has an on-site laundromat, and also offers nearby horse boarding facilities for a fee.

All of our rooms are newly remodeled and include: – LCD TV – Coffee Pot – Microwave – Fridge – Hair Dryer – Alarm Clock – New silent heating/cooling pumps Our hallway is full of different photos of wildlife around Yellowstone and Montana. We also have a laundromat on-site that guests are welcome to use. Locally owned and operated.

The room was comfortable and quaint. The staff was more than helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, the TV and internet worked well, there was plenty of hot water and the coffee was great. The laundry was conveniently across the lot. I will definitely be back.

The rooms were quintessential Montana. Very clean, and enjoyable! The check in process was easy even though we checked in after hours. We only stayed here for one night but I definitely could imagine using this place as a home base for a longer trip to the area. Downtown Livingston is super cute with lots of great food and drink options. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.

reat motel with lodge/cabin feel. We had a two room suite with plenty of space to spread out. This is an older place that is cleaner than any newer chain hotel I’ve stayed in. Quilts on the beds, taffy and postcards left for guests for homey feel. Located right by interstate and a train track. Heard no noise from interstate even tho we had an “end” room. Tracks must be local as never saw or heard a train. No breakfast included but we were aware of this when booking. Conveniently located near gas stations, restaurants and a grocery store.

Owner was great to work with. Originally booked three nights but had to leave after two. Tilly was great about it when I let her know the first night that might leave early. She only charged me for two nights right then but held the room for me in case needed a third.

Location provides access to Yellowstone plus several hiking areas and shopping in Bozeman. Just a couple of blocks to nice parks with river access. River was shallow enough to play in in certain areas and we watched others tube and raft as well.

I will definitely stay again if in the area. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with high-end amenities, keep looking. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and relaxing place give this a try.
