Location is great as it is close to the railway station and is only a short walk to the city centre.
Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The power shower in the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was self service. Everything was piping hot and well cooked. Good selection to suit everyone’s taste. The thing that stands out for me about this hotel is the staff. Every member was so helpful with any of our requirements and it was all done with friendliness and a sense of humour. This really made our stay one to remember.
We chose this hotel as it is close to the Train Station/Metro, easy to get to A1, The City Centre was within walking distance. The breakfast was included in the price. Sunderland, Gateshead and Alnwick Castle are all easily accessible.
Reception/Bar Staff are friendly and informative, and took time to look after us.
The hotel is located just outside the main shopping area of Newcastle. The Central Rail station is a five minute walk. The clubs and pubs of the grainge town area are also around five minutes away so a really good location for visiting the fantastic nightlife Newcastle has to offer. Parking is very easy with the Grainger town multi storey next door to the hotel it costs £6 for twenty four hours and is free between 5pm and 8am so you may if arriving late and leaving early find free parking.
The rooms are reasonably spacious with a good bathroom, bed is comfortable with all rooms having air conditioning, the windows also open if you prefer although this would mean some noise intrusion from the surrounding area.
The only reason the hotel has four stars is because of the breakfast, The items themselves are very acceptable, just the coffee is awful and the eggs a little mass produced in taste, also the bedroom décor whilst being very clean and comfortable is a little dated but not a deal breaker as I would if the price was right stay at this hotel on further occasions.
Newcastle and the geordies are fabulous people the city is full of character especially Grey street and Grainger street the architecture being world class as well as a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Go visit newcastle it is the jewel of the north East.

The hotel has an added bonus of having an Italian restaurant too, we ate pizza there on our second night and my (pizza chef) husband gave it a thumbs up for crispness. They had several offers and specials, all of which were very good value.
A taxi in to Newcastle city centre will cost you about £8 in an evening, but there is plenty to do in Jesmond itself. I went for a walk in Jesmond Dene, which is located at the bottom of the road that the hotel is on.
The hotel is situated in a residential area in Jesmond, right outside downtown Newcastle. The closest metro is West Jesmond, about half a mile from the hotel. A bit far if you are carrying a lot, but otherwise an easy walk through the suburban streets. On the way you pass through an area with a couple of cafes and shops, which is very convenient. There are also some good places to eat and drink nearby, and the lovely Jesmond Dene park is just down the road.
The hotel itself is quite small, and we enjoyed good and personal service from the staff, who were very friendly. We each had a single bedroom, and were pleased to find them very clean and with enough room to move around (even after our crazy shopping sprees). Breakfast was very good and cooked to order. We had heard some tales about these inexpensive hotels as being a prime location for noisy stag- or hen parties, but there were none at our hotel during our stay at least.
