Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in Odessa Ukraine

As very traditional Christian Orthodox society, Ukraine is mostly not as much frowned and it is a conservative country especially for gays but in the capital city of Kiev you can find a few gay friendly bars and as well gay friendly hotels Odessa, a popular tourist destination.

Lesbian, gay, bisexuals, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Ukraine may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Noncommercial, same-sex sexual activity between consenting adults in private is legal in Ukraine, but prevailing social attitudes are often described as being intolerant of LGBT people and households headed by same-sex couples are not eligible for any of the same legal protections available to opposite-sex couples.

Odessa is a port city on the Black Sea in southern Ukraine. It’s known for its beaches and 19th-century architecture, including the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater. The monumental Potemkin Stairs, immortalized in “The Battleship Potemkin,” lead down to the waterfront with its Vorontsov Lighthouse. Running parallel to the water, the grand Primorsky Boulevard is a popular promenade lined with mansions and monuments.

The interior of the rooms was created by the contemporary French designer Ana Moussinet. Le Bar by day offers remarkable tea, coffee, cakes and light meals for all who would stop by for coffee appointment or for a business lunch, and in the evening, it magically transforms into a social hub for fashionable elite enjoying cocktails and live music.

Hotel de Paris is absolutely the most exquisite and fantastic hotel in Odessa! We were treated with love and comfort just entering their premises and throughout our stay. Their staff is exceptional, the service is beyond any expectations. It is truly a 5-star hotel and each star was earned decently. The breakfast is outstanding, hotel’s design is modern and rooms are rather new, location is right in the heart of the city, surrounded with various kinds of restaurants, cafes and shops.

Only a 100 metres from the Potemkin Stairs that lead to the Black Sea, it was like stepping into a different world; a stylish comfortable room with Nespresso machine, a good big bathroom with plenty of toiletries and towels, efficient Wifi, laptop-size safe, everything you need was there.

The hot and cold buffet breakfast was abundant (with excellent breads). The room service vegetarian menu was so good, I opted for it (and looked forward to it) on my second night.

There’s something very special about the people of Odessa and the staff at MGallery exemplify that. They are warm, caring, charming and friendly. They embrace guests with their hospitality and do their best to ensure that your visit is care free, restful and enjoyable.

We opted for a lovely two room suite with a view of Ekaterininskaya Square, the Potemkin Stairs and Black Sea. Opening the French doors leading to the outdoor balcony provided a pleasant breeze while enjoying a short nap on the couch of the sitting room – that was such a pleasure. Savoring a coffee or drink while sitting on the balcony was also a treat. The room had all of the comforts and conveniences that you could want or need, including a separate tub and shower, a double sink and two water closets.

If you are looking for a modern hotel in Odessa, within walking distance to restaurants, the opera house and parks, I encourage you to visit Hotel de Paris Odessa.

Positive: overall ambience, location, bed quality.

The most beautiful hotel in Odessa, a luxurious palace building, right in the center, spacious rooms in classic style, luxurious bath, comfortable bed.

Lobby bar is open 24/7. Prices are very cheap. Breakfast buffet has very large variety of local specialties and continental dishes. Wifi connection is very good.Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

Very clean place. Staff is very friendly. English speaking. There is restaurant in hotel and bar with great menu. Prices is good. Great place to stay in Odessa

Frapolli 21 is a perfect local 4 Star Hotel , Scandinavian style , very clean , with great service and special attention to each client.

Excellent restaurant downstairs is open 24/7, I recommend to try deserts and bruschettas , my personal favourite – Borscht soup was absolutely delicious.

Over the 4 night stay in Odessa I felt great and safe with ideal shower and all necessary amenities in the room. Location wise it was quite easy to move around city and getting Uber within 5 min waiting time.

Hotel is freshly renovated so everything is brand spanking new!!!! Bed and sheets are also the most comfortable. You won’t go wrong with this hotel. Deribasovskaya is only about 10 minute walk and it very close too so many restaurants and stores. Breakfast is wonderful. Staff is very professional and polite. This hotel should have more than 5 stars?

But seriously I tried every expensive hotel in Odessa including Sofitel branch and was disappointed but Frapoli21 literally saved my trip I was so happy especially because the price is so low for level of service they are offering.

Excellent services , super friendly stuff that are willing to help any minute, good quality food and much more than “classic continental ” breakfast has to offer. Love the interior, which is a mix of Scandinavian minimalism and Parisian chic. Very clean room, had everything we wished for. The location was also perfect for us, since we didn’t know the city, it was our first time in Odessa. It’s very central and quiet at the same time.

Odessa Main Train Station is a 15-minute drive away and Odessa Airport is a 40-minute drive away. A shuttle service can be booked at the hotel.

This is a clean, but simply laid out hotel that, despite being in the city centre, was quiet and safe. The front staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel is about 20-25 minutes walk from the main railway station and 10 minutes walk to the heart of the city centre. Lots of restaurants, cafes and 24/7 within easy walking distance. I’d definitely stay here again.

The hotel is centrally located in Odessa. It is very close to the Opera Building, a 4 minute walk. Close to the market, membrane for entertainment, close to the beach, and all within walking distance.
clean rooms. The service is excellent. The staff at reception are very professional and kind, always ready to help with anything.

he Uno Design hotel is modern, clean, comfortable with fantastic staff, especially the 2 young ladies working the desk. They were full of information on where to eat, where to go, arranged for a taxi, helpful and pleasant.

We had room 410 which is a standard room, the room was large enough, very clean, nice shower with shampoo and bath gel. There was a bottle of water, and a mini bar which we didn’t use. There was a hair dryer, safe, robes and slippers. WiFi is free and fast.

We didn’t use it but there was a shuttle to the beach on the weekends.

We were able to walk to the theater ($4 tickets to the opera!), Potemkin stairs, Deribasovskaya Street. The train station was 20 minutes on foot. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. We found a good Georgian place and a couple of cafeteria style Ukrainian restaurants.

The hotel is established in a very central location of Odessa. It is just about 7-8 minutes of walk to reach to the most touristic attractions like city gardens or Deribasovskaya Street. It is built in a nice historical building. There was nothing special about the room, it as just a standard hotel room of this segment but I could not say anything negative at all as it was quiet clean. The staff is very friendly and they are willing to help you any time incase you need information about Odessa or the hotel. I had a comfortable stay and if you are looking for a clean, centrally located hotel with a good service, UNO Design might be a good choice.

Location- amazing building, a historical site, even a place where Babel – a famous writer used to live. Around it there are great restaurants, a very interesting market with street food, supermarket (who needs), Western Union (to change currencies).

The room we had was very good, quite spacious and very clean (important!).

Shower was good, plenty of towels, bathrobes, hairdryer, etc etc.
