Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.
U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The room was massive, clean and with nice, neutral decor. The bed was perfect for my tastes – firm mattress with a soft pillow-top. Very very comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to the shops and restaurants of old town (even at 10pm in Dec). If you’re visiting in Omaha, old town is the best place to go for some atmosphere and interesting, local stores. Best area to have a coffee and people watch as well.
For gay visitors, DC’s Saloon and the Max are a few blocks away. Staff was very helpful and didn’t mind at all when we asked for a late checkout (as we were waiting for the arrival of a delayed flight at the airport). Would definitely stay again.

city at our downtown Omaha hotel. You’ll love the modern decor, upscale accommodations and easy access to great shopping and dining.
This was a great hotel and overall good experience. The front desk clerk was so warm, friendly, welcoming and full of really helpful information as I checked in. The hotel looked and smelled clean and I really appreciate the effort on behalf of the hotel employees to help provide a safe and clean place for people to stay. The room (living space) felt spacious and comfortable. There was a nice big desk and chair along with a full couch. Very nice King size bed too.
The Cambria Hotel in downtown Omaha is a great location for staying in Omaha. Literally one block from TD Ameritrade park, and two blocks from the CHI Health Center Arena. Close to walking distance to the Old Market and the bob Kerrey bridge. VERY modern hotel and rooms.
This boutique hotel in north downtown Omaha is comfortable and has a nice layout. A jacuzzi would be nice, but the pool is a fair size for the location. Several restaurants are in easy walking distance and once venues open back up, it’s an easy walk to the TD Ameritade Ballpark and CHI Convention Center, the Ruth Sokolov Theater and, although a bit further, the Old Market area. Beds were very comfortable.
Old Market is a short distance from Cambria as is Creighton University. The hotel decor is contemporary and somewhat stark; tasteful and updated. Hardwood floors with no carpet or rugs made it conducive to a clean room…and it was both clean and well-maintained.
Overall a great new hotel! Easy walking distance to the arena and several bars/restaurants. A short taxi/uber ride from the old market. Could walk it if it was summer time. I really like the layout of our room. Ours was a single king bed. The bed faced the window instead of the tv which is nice. The tv does swing out away from the wall for easy viewing. There was a nice area behind the bed to unpack bags and set items.
There’s also plenty of lighting which isn’t always the case in hotel rooms. Can make it very bright, or there’s a built in light at the head of the bed that’s really neat and is dim enough for night time. Our bed was a tad firm, but was definitely comfortable, we both slept great. The awesome blackout curtain had a lot to do with a good night’s sleep as well. We slept later than we figured we would because it stayed so dark in our room! And quiet as well. Never heard another peep from the hallway or through the walls. So props to Cambria for amazing sound insulation, and a quality blackout curtain!
Did I mention the bluetooth mirror in the bathroom? Awesome to be able to play music while we shower or get ready to go out. Very neat feature, and now I want one for home!

his location is essentially brand new (built as an IHG property) and was outstanding! The entire place was immaculate when compared to regular hotels. I mean everything was clean and ALL the staff was very courteous, accommodating, and at your service.
A shuttle is provided for use and I took advantage for a couple restaurants and the airport. Again, wonderful service.
I cannot speak to their restaurant service as I eat a bit unhealthy compared to the food on the menu they have.
My room was pristine and the bathroom had a walk-in shower with a ceiling to floor glass pane serving as a wall and the shower was without a door. Very modern and nice.
The exercise bands in each room give you the option of doing some light work in the privacy of your room.
The location of the hotel is wonderful and near the Henry Doorly Zoo, Creighton University, Midtown Crossing and The Old Market District, to name a few.
The bathroom is nice sized and spa like. The hotel is very clean and modern, offering a relaxed atmosphere. The staff is probably their greatest asset. We have stayed here a few times and every time we stay the staff (desk, housekeeping, bartender) are all very friendly and helpful. The only downfall is that sometimes the parking lot is full and we have had to park on the street next to the hotel. This is our “home” hotel when we visit Omaha and it will continue to be our choice in the future.
Pretty nice clean and modern hotel. They had a little snack and drink hour which is always appreciated. Room was okay nothing crazy special but this is a short walk to about a dozen restaurants and a grocery store.
