We stayed here on the back of recommendations by friends for not only being one of the classiest hotels in Puerto Madryn but also for being so gay friendly. They are really open to gay couples and we definitely felt this during our stay. Staff are really friendly and keen to help.

It’s right on the pier with some stunning sunrise and sun sets every day. Highly recommend and also has a decent restaurant.Very good and affordable hotel in Puerto Madryn. Our room on the ninth floor was just huge and had beautiful views of the bay and the beach. The bed was large and comfortable and the hotel design is modern and clean.

The best part was actually the staff. They helped us coordinate great tours in the area and were very patient and helpful.

Room was huge, very modern hotel. I had a room with sea view. It’s practically on the beach and unobstructed view. Right in the heart of the town.

The location is just excellent: overseeing the sea and with a spectacular view from the breakfast room. It’s just a block away from the centre of the city and it’s a quiet and a safe block. Rooms are big, comfy, silent and perfect to relax: with relatively comfy mattresses and a TV set. The shower is clearly relaxing and hot enough for cold days, and the heating works perfectly. The people at the front desk are very kind and ready to help you always. The spa is very organised with 45-minute shifts, very punctual. The terrace is just beautiful, with armchairs to relax, although it’s a bit too cold in winter.

Breakfast is very complete and tasty. It offers a wide variety of choices: croissants, toast, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cakes, coffee, tea, mate, milk, orange juice, eggs. It’d better if they changed some things on different days, so as to make it more varied, but it was more than okay.
WiFi works well (in 2nd floor and in the lobby at least).

Large and airy rooms, always clean, large private terrace, rooftop terrace (bar not open while we were there), gym, excellent staff and good breakfast (South America standard:)) The restaurant also had very good dinner. Our room was facing the city but it was possible to see the sea from the terrace.

My room was very spacious – if a bit sparse, but it had everything I needed really for my stay in town. There was plenty of room for luggage in the room, and a decent size bathroom with shower (but no bath if you’re a bath fan). There were a couple of tiny things a bit wonky like the temperamental room door handle and shampoo mislabelled as shower gel in the bathroom, but really they were tiny things which didn’t impact on my stay. The room was spotless, and the bed was massive. My room had a view of the sea. The wifi was patchy and slow though so don’t count on it being fast or working all the time!

We’re sure you’ll enjoy your stay at Hotel Peninsula Valdes as you experience all of the things Puerto Madryn has to offer.

The location of the hotel was on the far end of the sea side, which made for a lovely stroll along the beach (in the sand and along the sidewalk) to enjoy the sunset. The hotel is close to the main streets where the restaurants, grocery store and shopping can be found so it’s definitely within walking distance to everything.

The hotel does offer a small parking lot next to the building, however it is not free. They do charge per night to park and you will need to leave your keys with the front desk staff when returning to the hotel for the night.

The breakfast buffet is rather large with lots of pastries, breads, fruits and juices. They did have eggs and assorted meats, none that I opted to try, but I did like the small shot glasses of jello and pudding, something a little unique for the buffet.

This hotel seems to be one that the big tour bus groups stop at for the night as each morning the breakfast area was jam packed full of tourists getting ready to leave for the bus. If you time your breakfast right, it will be possible to have the entire room to yourself once the buses depart.

The rooms were very large. We had two full sized beds along with an awesome ocean view. The rooms do not have AC, but once we had the windows opened the room cooled down thanks to the sea breeze.

The bathroom was clean and had a nice assortment of shampoo and soap. The tub was small and moving around while taking a shower was a bit of a challenge, especially with the window in the bathtub without a curtain and easy access to look out and presumably look in as well. But the water was hot and the water pressure was good.

There were plenty of power outlets for us to charge all of our camera gear and phones, even though you may have to move some of the furniture to get to them.

I would definitely stay here again and would suggest that it would be a good option if you’re looking for a clean place, good breakfast and walking distance to everything you could possibly need.

The place is exactly as advertised, very close to the beach and in a good neighborhood. Free parking for our rental car, the breakfast is abundant and well stocked. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We were mostly in and out of the place since we went on discovering the area around Puerto Madryn (mostly Peninsula Valdez) but in any place we stay we look for a couple of basics: Good and clean rooms, good shower, good breakfast. Los Tulipanes provides all that and we were satisfied with the facilities. There is a small garden and pool in the back that we saw but did not use.

Los Quatro Tulipanes is run by three American guys from Seattle. A good friend knows these guys living in Panama for 3 months this past year. The apartment was very spacious, had a great kitchen, and was close to everything we to be near. We rented a one bedroom unit that had two levels and two balconies. We felt at home away from home.
