Gay Friendly Hotels Shenzhen

Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in Shenzhen China (2022 Updated)

Shenzhen, in southeastern China, is a modern metropolis that links Hong Kong to China’s mainland. It’s known for its shopping destinations, including Luohu Commercial City, a massive mall with a vast array of wares, from tailors’ custom clothing to faux designer bags and gay friendly hotels. The city also features contemporary buildings, such as the 600m-tall skyscraper Ping An International Finance Centre, and a number of amusement parks

Gay Pride Shanghai is a peaceful march of LGBT people and their relatives and friends, which combines social and political protest with entertainment such as live concerts. It takes place every year in the month of June in Shanghai the main destination of China. There are more than 40 daily flights  from Shenzhen to Shanghai if you want to attend the parade.

Like most countries in Asia the  city of Shenzhen has many gay bars, clubs and gay hotels.

1. The Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen 5* – Gay Friendly Hotel Shenzhen

The Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen
The Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen

Set in Shenzhen city centre, The Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen hosts modern rooms with free WiFi and free on-site parking. It boasts a year-round indoor pool, a seasonal outdoor pool and a wellness centre.

Rooms come with central air conditioning and a private bathroom with 24-hour hot shower. A working desk, flat-screen TV, minibar and personal safe are also provided. The private bathroom has shower facilities, free toiletries and a hairdryer. Certain room types include a bathtub for guests to unwind.

The Venice Raytour Hotel Shenzhen is a 15-minute drive from Huanggang Port, while Luohu District is a 20-minute drive away. The hotel is 12 km from Dongmen Pedestrian Street and 23 km from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport.

Discover Venetian charm and business success at the Venice Hotel Shenzhen.Located in the southwest of Shenzhen city, The Venice Hotel Shenzhen is within 5 minutes walk from the famous theme parks and shopping malls – Window of the World, Splendid China, Happy Valley, China Folk Culture Village, and Yitian Plaza. Moreover, we are just just 10 minutes drive from Futian Centre and the Hi-Tech Zone, 15 minutes drive from Shekou Harbour Passenger Terminal and Shenzhen Bay Port, and 20 minutes drive from Luohu Port and Shenzhen International Airport.

Being the first international Venetian style hotel in China, The Venice Hotel Shenzhen represents a unique and distinctive Venetian theme. The hotel boasts 375 guest rooms and suites; eight function rooms and a 685 square meter pillarless ballroom; seven restaurants and bars including the award-winning Blue Italian Seafood & Grill Restaurant and V Bar, the coolest venue in town for evening entertainment and live shows.

The hotel is ideally located next to the metro station and very close to all local attractions and sightseeing places. Also a large shopping mall across the street with a variety of nice shops and great restaurants.

The Wellness area of the hotel is wonderful and the pool area is great! Free use for hotel guests. Luxury locker/changing rooms. Clean showers, free towels and slippers. Make sure to bring s swimming cap, otherwise you will not be allowed to enter the pool. The life guards have some spare ones and are very strict.

Rooms are well equipped and bedding is good. I very much liked the a la carte pillow option in the room. A small display with mini pillows to choose from. Housekeeping will then bring your preferred and selected pillow. Massage chair was a nice gadget, but is at charge via an App to use. Large tv flat screens with a huge variety of (international) tv channels.

Bathroom great. Nice walk in rain shower. Good amenities, fresh white towels, bathrobes and slippers and a selection of guest supplies like toothbrush, combe etc. Well presented and complete.

When adding breakfast upon arrival a small discount applies for pre booking. It’s a full buffet breakfast with a large western and Asian variety of choices. In Euro about 17,50. For that amount you may expect perhaps some better coffee and fresh juices. But, all in all not too bad but not sure if it was value for money. Also here all staff members were welcoming, kind, helpful and friendly. The young European Chef, preparing freshly fried eggs and omelets was kind professional and made great eggs!

Room/bathroom spacious, well-equipped as would be expected.
There seems to be a housemaid in residence on each floor, so when you put the “clean room” sign on your door before going down to breakfast, you can be sure it will be clean by the time you get back up.
Large well equipped fitness centre which looks out onto the outdoor (but sheltered) pool. The pool itself has a view over the 100m replica of the Eiffel Tower!

So many pool attendants/staff on duty that when my wife stood up and waved to me in the pool, 3 staff came running up to her to ask what she required!!!

Indoor pool, sauna & steam rooms all well attended and clean.
In the lobby toilets there’s even a guy who stands there all day to squirt soap onto your hands and pass you the hand towel!!!

Breakfast buffet ridiculously copious and varied (try the traditional dim sum you won’t regret it).
The Japanese and Chinese restaurants were very good although expensive (60-80 euros for 2) considering that this is China.

The hotel accommodation was absolutely perfect. Big spacious room with views over Window of the World out across SZ Bay. It kinda makes you feel like you are based in Paris with the 🗼 Eiffel Tower replica. The bed was soooo comfortable and we loved a nice soak in the bathtub which was part of our room.

The venue reserved the pool deck for 30 of our guests under the giant pool canopy. We loved the views and being near the water was really nice. We ordered an assortment of meat, fish, chicken and vegetarian dishes which were given excellent feedback from our guests. The bar staff could have been a little faster but I understand the time taken to make a cocktail.

The staff were very helpful and discreet and weren’t at all obtrusive. They helped bring out the food quickly and efficiently.

We were blown away but the incredible choices at the breakfast buffet the next morning. It is absolutely amazing what they have on offer.

We had the most amazing stay at the Venice Raytour and could not speak more highly of the place. We cannot wait to come back and stay again.

Metro station is at the lobby gate and Starbucks is on the ground floor so what else do you need :). Just that i felt the property is a bit older and i felt floors lobby a bit smelly but rooms were spacious with good view and good entertainment portal with free movie collections if you have plan to stay in room. Overall great stay would definitely recommend.

Positives:
1. Location
2. Metro (Huaqiang North Station)
3. Electronic shopping centers
4. Good restaurants nearby

The best thing about this hotel is its location and the stunning view of the city it offers. Huaqiang North metro station is right outside hotel and it’s surrounded by the famous electronics market. There is a shopping mall few steps away and a couple of eateries including a McDonald’s. It doesn’t offer the lavish ambience of a luxury hotel but it’s modern and clean. The rooms are reasonably spacious, well-appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast variety was good and the restaurant also offered decent food choices, mostly Chinese though. Most of the front office staff I met could speak enough English to manage basic conversation.

The location is fantastic, right on top of the Huaqiang electronics district. The subway is right below, along with a mall with plenty of shopping and food. I loved the area, and especially enjoyed browsing the electronics markets.

The rooms are spacious and offer panoramic views over Shenzhen and the surrounding landscape through a full glass facade. The rooms are well furnished if a little dated, but are kept up decently. The amenities and appliances in the bathroom are nice and the water pressure is steady and reliable. As in a lot of Chinese hotels, there are more twin than double rooms, which means they usually try to put you in a twin room when travelling alone. Be aware that wifi is pretty slow in the room.

If you like gardening, then you will love this hotel. Their must be at least 30-50 different varieties of plants and flower growing here. Like a botanical garden. The staff is great. Not everyone speaks English, but everyone will try to make sure you have a great stay. Note this is a 3 star hotel, not a 5 star hotel, but this is the best 3 star hotel I have ever stayed. Suggest get a ground floor room so you can enjoy the garden from front porch of your room. This hotel is smack in the middle of Shekou Sea World in one of the first stone block building built in Shenzhen following the establishment of the Shenzhen SEZ.

Unique experience and concept, it felt like home. Friendly and helpful staffs. Location was less than five minutes walking distance from beautiful Sea world area and the metro station. Safe and clean neighbourhood.

The property is walking distance to Sea World and also from Shekou port for the ferries. I was very impressed by the staff who were not only very polite & helpful but also English speaking, just be warned that not all hotels in China have English speaking staff! All in all, a very pleasant experience and I would thoroughly recommend it to you if you wish to choose this hotel.

This little gem is within walking distance of SeaWorld, has a decent restaurant on site that many people who don’t stay at the hotel even flock to. Tucked away on a side street, water in the litter gardens that you don’t even hear the busy street. Great value in a very expensive part of town, especially for families. Clean and basic. This time our room has it’s own little enclosed garden which was a plus. Oh and plenty of comfy pillows! Check in and check out were very quick and simple.

The rooms are very good and each room has it’ own AC. They have dry cleaning service. The restaurant is very good and has a great western menu! On a side street so very quiet for being in a big city. Quick walk to Sea World which has a great night fountain and light show(highly recommended). Sea World also has a good assortment of western restaurants and Starbucks! So inclusion the price is good for the value and has good western food and it a short walk to Sea World. Enjoy.

Staff are friendly & helpful, led by a very hands-on GM. Even served in the restaurant as the hotel was short staffed over Chinese New Year.

Great breakfast offering Chinese & European food. Try the Seafood Buffet. Good value @ $300 YMB offering a mixture of cuisine, lobster & a fresh noodle maker.

The view overlooks the MH Mall which is opposite the street but with no traffic light, so it was good that there’s a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes.

Our room is very nice. Design, view and size are all good enough. We have booked the hotel with a good deal from Agoda. And we enjoyed the bubble bath so much in the big bathtub.

The panoramic window is really comfortable, and the super-large round bathtub is also great. Breakfast is delicious even though there are not many dishes, and it will come again if there is a chance.

It is located in a residential area, 15 min walk from the shopping park station in line 1 of the subway. had problems with my gps in Shenzhen, it shown me somewhere else. Do not follow the instructions from google map, follow the map in the hotel website, take exit E in the subway. If you take the lift you will face the right direction to the Somerset, just look at the high rises in front of you, towards the left of the road (after the bridge) and you will be able to see the somerset sign on the side of the building. If you take the escalators then once you get to the surface make a u turn. I think in total should be like 6 blocks, but you have to go under the express road, it is very safe so don’t worry.

Once you cross the road it will be like 4 blocks straight and the somerset will be in your left. Plenty of small shops around where you can buy fruits and whatever you need. Line 1 is the one that comes from the airport, so easy to move around. Breakfast is more catered for asian likes but has some basic western like eggs, toasts, fruits, etc. The reception ladies were very helpful and attentive. The room a standard apartment with kitchenette and appliances for long term stays. Golf club in front.

We chose this apartment based on reviews and we’re not disappointed. Great size and all the facilities we needed. Lots of thoughtful little touches and extras to make stay feel luxurious. The beds are firmer than we’re used to but that seemed to be the same everywhere we went.

Upgraded from a studio to a 2 bedroom residence, amazing facility – staff were friendly throughout and the breakfast was amazing. Amazing for the price I paid and place was really clean and modern. The 2 bedroom facility was so spacious that i managed to put in some work before my ride to the airport the next morning.
