The only reason why you might not want to stay at this hotel could be that the walking distance to the old town is about 45 min – but then you could always take a taxi.
I just wanted to enjoy the hotel and its surroundings. It is set in a beautiful forest, just across the street from the Sibiu zoo which makes for a nice walk with its little lake.
I loved my room on the last floor, the gym, the spa ( had a massage there ) and of course the breakfast. Apart from the international Hilton breakfast items, you have local delicacies. Catalin explained everything very well and I am happy I did not miss out on these specialities.
Try the local bread types ( one made with potatoes), add some butter and the homemade sour cherry jam. Extraordinary. Or the local cheeses, like the bellow cheese that you carve out with a spoon. What a treat this breakfast is.
The staff in general, not only Catalin at breakfast, was helpful, friendly, extremely professional and at the same time discreet and laid back.
The hotel is about 10 minutes drive from old town. It will be best suited for those with cars. But taxi fare is cheap and readily available, I see no reason why discounting this hotel if you don’t drive.
The hotel is old fashioned and old in many ways. Some curtains have holes and don’t cover up properly. For those who need to sleep in darkness, this presents an issue in summer when day is long.
Breakfast is descent with lovely breeds and varieties of Romanian dishes to sample. Service at breakfast is excellent. Executives lounge is always empty and practically no one takes breakfast there. I think it might as well be shut down to conserve the wasted food and energy. The restaurants downstairs are more than enough.
The Hilton, Sibiu is a reasonably modern hotel set outside the city amidst parks and woodland. It has excellent facilities including a good sized pool and spa facility which was clean, relaxing and a great use of time when the weather was not so good. Breakfast is included and is well presented with a choice of cooked and continental dishes. There are two main restaurants within the hotel together with an English bar and there are a number of other restaurants within walking distance too.
An added bonus is there is one of Europe’s largest outdoor museums just down the road which is well worth a visit. A short (10 minutes) taxi ride takes you to the centre of Sibiu where there are numerous restaurants, bars and attractions in the medieval setting of the Squares and streets which makes up the centre. Overall, a great place to visit and stay.

The hotel is nice, we enjoyed our stay, though we expected a little more from a 4 star Ramada hotel, regarding room cleanliness and its daily cleaning. The second (large! room) included a small kitchen area but without any eating tools. The shower in the second room did not work, and water pressure was low in the main room shower. Hotel central location is very good, with nice view from the windows. Breakfast was very good and the staff is friendly. For extra 5 Euros per day, we had hotel parking (which cannot be reserved in advance).
The best features of this hotel are the central location and the views from the room. It’s very easy to go sightseeing as the hotel is just on the edge of the historic old town. There are pedestrian tunnels to safely get you there. My room was clean, quite modern and rather spacious. Also the breakfast was tasty and the staff professional. Therefore my whole experience was quite pleasing.
Wanted a hotel with air conditioning and central location. Great for both plus a great breakfast buffet. Needed to be instructed on how to cross the busy intersection by way of underpass. Close walk to old town area a slight uphill walk. Deep soaking bath tub with shower.
Talking about the inside of the hotel, the design and quality are exquisite. Being a group of young adults with high standards, the overall feel of the place was one of the key aspects of our stay. The design and colour palette was just right and the position of fundamental areas such as the reception was perfect. The lobby and the reception war spotless, the staff was welcoming and answered all our questions patiently.
Regarding the room, we were staying in one of the apartments halfway the height.
First of all, the view from the sixth floor is just spectacular both during the day and at night. The room was extremely nice and very clean, we had 2 big bathrooms, a living room and a huge bedroom. Each of the bathrooms was different, one having a shower and the other one a bathtub.
The bed was a king one, extremely cosy. The living room had a large flat screen, a mini kitchen and a sofa with two armchairs. Overall, a great place to sleep in.
The restaurant had a variety of food for all tastes which was great. The hotel also has jazzy bars, a gym, and pool tables.
Overall, our stay was great and the staff was at height with their services! I recommend Ramada if you would like to have a spectacular holiday.
The rooms are big with nice design, AC , big bathroom , and the bed is sooooo comfy , I loved it . The hotel is placed 5 min walking from the center of the city , it has a parking place near the hotel and also one underground, big reception and lobby , 2 restaurants , rich and diverse breakfast.
They have also one gym and massage service (never tried them) . Always stayed at upper floors and if you ask room with view to the old town you’ll have a nice view.
The room was at the 12th floor with a good view of the old town. The breakfast was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. As a person who travel around the world on a regular basis, I can tell that it’s one of the best hotel I stayed in the recent days. All the main attractions were walkable from the hotel and it makes it even more convenient and comfortable so that I could spend more time enjoying the local attractions of Sibiu rather than worrying about the local commute.
