The small, centrally located Janus Boutique Hotel & Spa boasts family atmosphere with individually designed rooms, suites and lot of wellness services. Free Wifi is available in the entire hotel.
Massages and beauty treatments are available at the Janus Boutique Hotel & Spa.
The hotel can be found in the heart of Siófok, 400 m from the shore of Central-Europe’s largest freshwater lake and 100 m from the railway station in the old Main Street.
The hotel offers breakfast on site as well as a half-board option with dinner in the Amigó restaurant (with a small select menu), located 50 m away.
The train station is 100 m away, the city center along with the Water Tower, restaurants, and the Sió mall are 200 m away. Siófok’s Main beach is also close, in a 10 minutes of walking distance. The building complex came into existence with integrating an old evangelical chapel and a school together in 1993, by the plans of Imre Makovecz. This hotel is the only realized plan of the famous architect. Later, between 2004 and 2015 a new concept came and the hotel received a new interior.
A unique design has been created, all of the rooms have different styles and decors. This is the only boutique-hotel in Hungary where all the rooms are different from each other. The house’s family atmosphere SPA facility has been evolved in roman and old egyptian style. Everything can be found here, which is necessary for the active recreation and relaxation: swimming pool, sauna, infra-sauna, whirlpool, gym, aroma chamber and solarium.
Of course there is possibility to have massage and cosmetic treatments aswell or paid privat usage of the Jacuzzi with champagne and sweet plates. The combination of the open-air and the glassroofed atriums, design rooms, SPA facility and wellness services makes the days spent here a unique experience.
We got a nice room which had everything needed, safe (free & ask reception for the key, note some are just key codes). Bed was comfortable and bathroom had a nice shower. Note there was no air conditioning and the room was warm and we got a fan from the reception.
There is flat screen 32”tv in the room and lots of channels but only about 3 English speaking news channels. All day you can help yourself to free coffee / tea/ water 7am to 11pm. The swimming pool is a nice size and you can go down anytime and use the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room . There is loungers and there are towels and dressing robes in your room.
Extra charged like beauty treatment and massage & sun bed is available. Hotel can arrange bike hire if required. Breakfast is from 8am to 12pm , self serve buffet style, typical Mediterranean breakfast. There is a mini bar is each room with a chargeable menu. Small hairdryer in the bathroom. 24 hour reception.
Not a 5* hotel but uniqueness of all rooms, corridors, SPA, … is fabulously. Staff is very pleasant so ask to choose room design if it is possible, or ask during booking what is available. The best part of the hotel is the swimming pool and SPA area.
Great design, size, and cosy feeling in this area is guaranteed. Hotels possess private parking area that is under surveillance cameras and electronic gate. Is informed this is the only boutique hotel in Hungary.
The wellness area is just wonderful for such a small and cozy hotel. The big pool was heated and the huge whirlpool was very quiet and relaxing. The sauna was impeccable, everything was simply perfect! Breakfast was fresh and delicious with a wide variety. The staff was forthcoming and very friendly! We had a wonderful cosmetic treatment for a bargain price.
Highly recommended! The hotel’s location is right next to the center and to the lake within 10 walking minutes. Nice restaurants close by. We will definitely return to this hotel for a longer stay. Highly recommended, one of my favorites so far.

Designed in Bali Island-style, the 4-star superior Mala Garden Design Hotel is situated directly on the shore of Lake Balaton in Siófok. It offers a restaurant with Hungarian, Thai and vegetarian cuisine and free WiFi. The spa area features a hot tub, a Finnish sauna, an infrared sauna, a tropical shower and Thai massages.

The Mandara coffee and lounge offers home-made pastries, cocktails and hot dishes, as well as a lakeside terrace.
Guests can rent bicycles, windsurfing and swimming in Lake Balaton or relax on the private sun terrace above the water.
Ethereal peace, waves, comfort and luxury. It is just like an island in the Far East, but within your reach, on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, in Siófok. The harmonious architecture and unique interior atmosphere of Mala Garden Hotel and Restaurant Siófok offer an exclusive experience to the guests. Scents, flavours, beautiful views – we make sure to indulge all your senses.
In the hotel, natural materials (natural stone claddings and reliefs, tropical wood claddings, stone sculptures) and state of the art technology are featured side by side: smart TVs, LED lights, Italian Jacuzzi massage tubs and energy efficient engineering solutions serve the comfort of our guests and economical operations. The interior design of the building was inspired by far-away exotic travels: all spaces have an air of harmony, peace and functionality, while luxury is ubiquitous during the whole stay.
They keep the hotel in spectacular condition, everything is absolutely clean and well maintained. The rooms are both beautiful and comfortable, the spa is great, the hotel sits on the waterfront, with a private deck into the lake where you are spoiled with their drinks service.
Their restaurants are absolutely perfect, the menu has great variety, food is both tasty and served with care.
All staff – weather it is reception, restaurants, cleaning or spa – is excellent, helpful and on top of things.
Mala Garden is a gem I hope we will be able to visit many times in the future.
It is not cheap, one of the most expensive on the bank of Balaton. But here you get real value for your money. It is a design hotel in Bali-style, you can see it in even the toilets. Everything is clean and quiet, you can see the lake from your bath too.
The food in the restaurant of the hotel is great too, I can suggest the Asian foods, if you want to eat something special. But you can eat anything, you will be satisfied, But you can find many-many restaurants and street-food places within 500 meters if you are hungry for something local or cheap. I think. Ideal place for couples.
The Green Tea room was very spacious for 2 with many amenities including a Nespresso. The views from the balcony, while facing the next door hotel, gave us great views of the Lake.
The location and the lake were superb. A few minutes walk to nightlife with many restaurants and lots of entertainment. The lake is amazing. We waded for hours enjoying the scenery…while getting bar service from the helpful staff at the sun deck on the lake.
While there are many other dining options, we had great meals at the hotel (everything was good but the chicken Cordon Bleu was amazing!). Breakfast, included in our rate, was worth it. A great selection of breads, cheeses, meats, cereals and eggs. And of course, cappuccino.
This hotel is part of a rare breed in Hungary. From the minute, we entered reception we were warmly greeted and given a refreshing welcome drink by friendly staff and made to feel at home.
The room was perfect, aesthetically warm and inviting and finished to a high standard, very tastefully decorated and of a decent size. The balcony overlooked the lake and was furnished with large chairs. The room has everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel, flat screen TV, air conditioning, mini bar, hair dryer, safe. The bed was extremely comfortable with quality linen, lots of pillows and a comfortable mattress.
The hotel has a small but well-appointed spa area with sauna and Jacuzzi/massage pool. There are dressing gowns and slippers provided by the hotel, towels and wraps for the sauna are provided.
The breakfast was excellent, plenty of fresh produce, smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, cheeses, fresh pastries, breads, juices and real espresso coffee, just perfect.
The lake Balaton is located directly in front of the hotel, a few meters from the front door. In the summer, they have their own beach area with recliners and steps for swimmers to enter the lake.
They do have a small covered parking facility, we parked in the street outside the hotel which is safe and well lit.

3. Royal Mediterran 4* – Gay Friendly Hotels Siofok

Offering a private beach area and free bicycles, the Royal Mediterran aparthotel features self-catered accommodation with free WiFi and free access to a spa, right on the shore of Lake Balaton.
All units are air-conditioned, fitted with a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, and a private bathroom with a shower.
The closest restaurant is 800 m from Royal Mediterran, while a store for groceries can be reached 200 m further.
We rented the apartment with the lake view, basically just 3 meters from the lake. And we payed for the view as the apartment doesn’t justify the price. It is pretty small at least the room with the small kitchenette, with a small bed. The bathroom is big enough.
he property is on the side of the Lake Balaton, the view is so amazing in the morning and during sunset, it’s really romantic, especially with the Jacuzzi pool in the garden what you can use even if the weather is quiet bad. They serve breakfast which is a buffet system I felt it’s enough for a good, delicious start of the day. The rooms are clean, big and comfortable, you have a little kitchen in the room as well if you need. The service was good, the receptionist was helpful and informative, I am not sure how is his English but don’t give up to speak to him 😉
The apartment is a little bit far from the city (siófok) center, but if you wanna have a pleasant , relaxing weekend you have to consider this place. Thank you for this nice time.
It is a lovely place, just right at the bank. It is a bit far from the centre but as we arrived by car, it wasn’t a big issue to us. We could also park the car right in the yard.
The rooms are simple but very clean and it was great to have a common kitchen part in between the two rooms we booked.
The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful, they could give some good tips where to go to eat for example.
The breakfast is also good, nothing special but it has everything what’s part of a buffet breakfast.
Unluckily when we were there, the weather wasn’t really good so we couldn’t really enjoy the extras what they offer (like sauna, bikes, kayaks, jacuzzi) but I think it’s great that they have so many extra things to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
All in all, I surely recommend this place to everyone.
