The first night of our Fall trip to the Black Hills, we stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Sioux Falls SD.
This is a newer building located near I 29 and I 229. The hotel had ample parking, two elevators, an excellent fitness center, an indoor pool and a spacious breakfast area. Our room had a large walk in shower, with good water pressure and ample hot water. The bed was very comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep.
This Hampton is very new and is appointed with the new style of Hampton Inns, which is an upgrade from the standard Hamptons. Our room was a double and the width of the room was a bit on the smallish side. From the foot of the bed there was only about 3-4 of clearance until the wall, which made the room seem much smaller. The beds were new and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and very clean and bright. There is a large walk in shower with no tub and a large sink. The hot water worked great. The room temperature was easy to control and quickly warmed up on a chilly night.
The staff was friendly and our stay was very pleasant.

Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice with good variety. The staff were courteous and very helpful. Good location for seeing Wall. Mt Rushmore, Deadwood, Badlands and Crazy Horse.
! They have a great, very helpful staff, and plenty of amazing little details that really kick it up a notch. In the lobby, they have a great little coffee, tea, apple cider, and hot chocolate station that we used constantly, as well as fresh cookies next to the front desk, all free. The staff was very generous when it came to housekeeping as well as the staff that runs the continental breakfast.
I think the Country Inn is in a great location within close proximity to Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, as well as a short drive (within 2 hours) of several more places, so we have taken great advantage of using this as a central hub to all of our travels. Devil’s Tower in Wyoming, Keyhole State Park also in Wyoming, the Minute Man Missle Launch Site Tour, the Badlands, Hot Spring, and Custer State Park are a small number of the very wonderful tourist locations within a short day-trip from our stay at the Country Inn in Rapid City.Overall, a great stay.
This hotel is centrally located and is within a 50 mile radius or a little more of just about everything you’d want to see. Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, The Badlands, Wall Drug, Sturgis etc. All rooms have a Jacuzzi which was very nice to relax in after all day outings. The free breakfast was just sufficient but tasty. The room was clean, comfortable and the entire facility is smoke free. The pool features a water slide.
