Gay Friendly Hotels St Barts

Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in St Barts (2023 Updated)

The St. Barts Islands are considered a safe destination for LGBT tourists. LGBT people tend to face no discrimination issues in resorts and very touristic areas. Most St. Barts inhabitants are quite tolerant of same-sex relationships and in the islands we can find some gay friendly hotels St Barts.

StBarts is by far the most open of the islands. Anguilla, like many a British colony, is quite conservative in attitude, but individual deluxe resorts welcome gay and lesbian travelers. The French and Dutch are generally tolerant and gay tourists are accepted in St Barts.

Saint Barthelemy, a French-speaking Caribbean island commonly known as St. Barts, is known for its white-sand beaches and designer shops. The capital, Gustavia, encircling a yacht-filled harbor, has high-end restaurants and historical attractions like the Wall House, whose exhibits highlight the island’s Swedish colonial era. Perched above town is 17th-century Fort Karl, looking out over popular Shell Beach.

 1. Hotel Manapany 5* – Gay Friendly Hotels St Barts

Hotel Manapany
Hotel Manapany

Hotel Manapany has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and garden in Gustavia. With a private beach area, the 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, room service and ticket service for guests.

At the hotel, all rooms have a desk and a flat-screen TV. All guest rooms will provide guests with a wardrobe and a coffee machine.

Hotel Manapany offers a continental or buffet breakfast.

Set on the tranquil Anses des Cayes bay, toes in the sand, the Manapany hotel is just 5 minutes away from Gustaf III airport and Gustavia town. Offering 43 beautifully-appointed rooms & suites facing the ocean, the Manapany features: 2 resort – style swimming pools including one reserved for adults, a restaurant on the beach, a bar facing the ocean, a spa by the ocean and many other services.

The whole staff at the Manapany was exceptionally attentive and extremely nice. The front desk, the restaurant staff, the beach bed attendants – everyone was terrific. We loved the 8am yoga, 9am breakfast and 10am beach routine to start off our day. The rooms were spacious, clean and had a great beach/bungalow vibe – our was up on the hill and had a great view of the ocean. Having the option to lounge at the beach or the pool was a great luxury. The complimentary eco friendly water bottles and the beach bag – will ensure we will never forget our experience here!

Beautiful Hotel. Clean. Stylish; where the rooms are more or less individual houses. Fantastic beds. Nice pool; the beach is nice in as far as the sandy part is concerned: the sea itself is less suitable for swimming -as it is kind of ‘reefy.

Manapany offers a wonderful eco friendly escape with lovely rooms, fabulous cuisine and a peaceful natural environment. The breakfast is well done with both fresh bacon, eggs and potatoes along with many fresh baked specialties, yogurts and fruits to please both the American and European guests. The pools (rare on SB) are located waterfront and have ample lounges and shade. The beach is beautiful and yes somewhat rocky but SB is a small rocky island and if you want long extensive white sand beaches this is not the destination.

The property and beach are beautiful, the food (breakfast every morning and dinner one night in the restaurant) is fresh and delicious, and our room was tastefully designed and comfortable. Our massages were excellent, the gym was clean with new equipment, and and the concierge printed us an English newspaper every morning.

Although St Barts is known for being posh, it’s actually quite chill. Manapany nails this relaxed luxury vibe perfectly. Other hotels we visited were either full of themselves, trying too hard to create a party vibe, or aiming to be a lunch/dinner destination. Manapany on the other hand is approachable yet chic. The staff are super nice and helpful with constant smiles. There’s no rude posing here (cough Cheval Blanc cough). If you’re looking for a party, this is not your place. If you’re looking to chill out but maintain a luxury eco feel, you’ll be right at home.

The beach has a great outlook with no other hotels and few properties…so it feels remote and private. Rooms are clean with firm mattresses and great views. Landscaping feels tropical with great variety of vegetation that adds to the private feel. Spa area was equally nice with great yoga/pilates instructors. We never ate there besides breakfast which was good. Above all, the service was tops.

Manapany’s intentional positioning as a ‘casual luxury’ destination with an ecological conscience on an island known for its showiness and excess is notable and appreciated. The entire property’s setting and design are perfect for the site location in the Anse des Cayes quartier of the island. We found that their attention to even the littlest of details made for an enjoyable, comfortable, laid back but luxury experience.

The compound is stunning, with an abundance of plants, trees and flowers, and my favourite… turtles who come and great you every day around 4 PM..

our rooms were truly well appointed, all with natural elements and materials, private deck overlooking the bay and sand beach. We literally walked from our room onto the sand.

We loved the breakfast which is served outside, sitting with a view on the ocean, with our feet in the sand. One just couldn’t be stressed…

it has a small but good gym, reception staff was very friendly, breakfast staff was amazing, and the very best part for us, was the spa. Beautiful structure and exceptional service and massage.

3. Hotel Christopher Saint Barth 5* – Gay Friendly Hotels St Barts

A free buffet breakfast is offered at the Taino restaurant as well as a bar and restaurant at the Mango restaurant. Room service is available 24 hours daily.

Hotel christopher, a true lifestyle hotel nestled at the secluded pointe milou on st. Barths, has now been fully renovated with the addition of an exclusive Spa Sisley. A favorite resort destination for travelers in the northeast, hotel christopher combines designer decor, high-quality amenities, stellar service and superior attention to detail. The mix of quality and elegant yet casual services, position the hotel as one of the best values on the island.

The location is gorgeous, my room was spectacular, and the service could not have been better. The entire staff was so accommodating and gracious. I can’t wait to go back! I was with my boyfriend, and as a gay couple we were completely comfortable.

I was concerned before we went that the lack of a proper beach would be an issue, but in fact it is a positive. Most of the best beaches are not directly in front of hotels, and there are several that are worth a visit. A car is a must on st barths, so driving to the different beaches and exploring was a special part of our vacation, so I dispute any negative comments about no beach at the hotel!

Nestled in a steep bay with views along the best coastline in St Barth – a combination of frothy waves against rocky outcrops and arcs of perfect sand, our room at the Christopher offered space, breathtaking views of the sunset, inspiring style and fabulous spa-style bathrooms.

Yes paradise does come with a catch, but it’s often the people who make paradise, just as much as the place. The welcome at the Christopher is proof of that.

This hotel is paradise! The service is incredible – everyone was so nice and really wanted to make sure our experience was a good one. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and a little modern – oh so comfortable! The bartenders all know how to make some of the best drinks I’ve ever had and the food at the on site restaurants were all delicious. The spa services were wonderfully relaxing and the workout facility is really nice – running doesn’t seem so bad with that view!

The pool area at the Christopher Hotel is the best on the island with amazing views and a real design led feel to the whole place. The 2 restaurants on site are clean and contemporary; Taino is the main breakfast and evening restaurant with panoramic views out to sea and overlooking the pool, and Mango is the ‘beach-style restaurant’ under the palm trees and with outdoor seating. Mango is only open during the day, apart from a Sunday evening when they do a BBQ night. Note there is not actually a beach at this hotel, but they have created a beach feel with sand underfoot in this area, and it works really well.

Breakfast was great every day with an excellent choice of food options and freshly cooked eggs/omelettes as you want them. The lunch menu at Mango was great and offers lots of choice, but the dinner menu in Taino was a lot more formal and with fewer choices in the evening, although all food items are absolutely delicious.

Our bedroom was very comfortable and spacious decorated with taste, elegance and sobriety. A large bathroom with a great shower (the kind that makes you feel under a monsoon rain!).

The restaurant will also stay in our memories, not only for the exceptional and relaxing view (the same as the swimming pool, which is superb as well)! Delicious fishes and exceptional lobsters. A delicate and precise cuisine. I didn’t expect to find so many good ingredients assembled with talent on an island!
We had an unforgettable duo massage at the Spa, in front of the sea, with the noise of waves…

I also wanted to let people know about the quality of the clients we were sharing this piece of paradise with. Everybody was respectful and smiling, elegant for dinner.
