Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.
U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Awesome old English style hotel. Roxie was great and gave us a very welcoming check in along with fast and friendly service. Very informative about the area. Lots of good places to eat and drink nearby. Including place that makes their own pasta right across the parking lot. Cool decor and great themed rooms. Has bikes and pool available during summer months.
A Theme Hotel featuring 18th and 19th century English Authors.
As my Uber pulled up in front of the Cheshire St. Louis hotel I was a bit concerned. The hotel looks a little dated, and I was concerned that it would not measure up to my standards.
The hotel was wonderful. The staff could not have been more friendly or attentive to our needs. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and great shower.
The hotel is decorated with warm tones and quirky old English charm, staffed by equally warm and charming employees (Roxie is my personal favorite! Second to her would actually be their Spiced Vanilla candles lol). The beds are as comfortable and plush as a Hilton Inn, but the Hilton does not have the Fox and Hound bar nor does the Hilton name a room after the author of Winnie the Pooh.
There are more lavish themed suites, live jazz on weekends, a British cottage styled Starbucks like a one minute walk from the front door and two gastropubs next door. The bar even puts spices in the glasses of wine to enhance flavor, for heaven’s sake lol. Come for the décor, stay for the people and experience.
Charming surroundings and classic author-themed suites, large comfortable rooms, excellent food, and attentive, helpful staff. In the middle of great nightlife and city activities, a secret portal to an old English world where all guests are cared for like aristocrats. This wonderful place has become a St. Louis destination hotel for us.
The room was so unique and classy. We stayed in the Death on the Nile themed room and it was gorgeous! Easily the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The linen was soft and perfectly clean, room was spotless and comfortable. Staff was incredibly friendly, general manager was simply fantastic and terrifically accommodating. We are dinner at the attached Boundary restaurant and it was delicious, food was perfect with a cozy atmosphere. We had such a wonderful anniversary celebration this weekend and truly enjoyed our stay! Can’t wait to come back.
